The Chinese manufacturer will be holding a launch event for the Mi Max 3 in July. It is speculated that the company may use the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/06/15/xiaomi-redmi-6-pro-mi-max-3-mi-pad-4-may-launch-together-in-july/">same stage to announce the Redmi 6 Pro as well as Mi Pad 4</a>. A new tablet with model number M1806D9W has been certified by China Compulsory Certification (3C) body in China. Moreover, it has also received approval China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (CMIIT).</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/06/15/xiaomi-mi-pad-4-with-m1806d9w-model-number-receives-3c-and-cmiit-approved/m1806d9w-3c-certification/" rel="attachment wp-att-196444"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-196444" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/M1806D9W-3C-Certification.png?x44794" alt="" width="1126" height="233" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/M1806D9W-3C-Certification.png 1126w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/M1806D9W-3C-Certification-300x62.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/M1806D9W-3C-Certification-768x159.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/M1806D9W-3C-Certification-1024x212.png 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1126px) 100vw, 1126px" /></a></p>
<p>The 3C listing of the device clearly mentions that it is a tablet and it carries support for 5V/2A charging. Since the company is rumored to be working on a successor model for Mi Pad 3 from 2017, it is very likely that the M1806D9W device is the upcoming Mi Pad 4. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/04/26/xiaomi-mi-pad-4-specifications-leaked-features-snapdragon-660-6000mah-battery/">Leaked firmware files</a> of the device that had surfaced few months ago had revealed that it features a 6,000mAh battery which is a bit smaller than the 6,600mAh battery that powers the predecessor model.</p>
<p>The device is also carry support for 5.8GHz/2.4GHz dual-band Wi-Fi. It is likely that like the predecessor model, the Mi Pad 4 will be only arriving in Wi-Fi model.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/06/15/xiaomi-mi-pad-4-with-m1806d9w-model-number-receives-3c-and-cmiit-approved/m1806d9w-cmiit/" rel="attachment wp-att-196445"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-196445" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/M1806D9W-CMIIT.png?x44794" alt="" width="968" height="588" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/M1806D9W-CMIIT.png 968w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/M1806D9W-CMIIT-300x182.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/M1806D9W-CMIIT-768x467.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 968px) 100vw, 968px" /></a></p>

<p>The Mi Pad 4 is expected to feature a 13-megapixel rear-mounted camera and a frontal shooter of 5-megapixel. It may be driven by Snapdragon 660 SoC. It is speculated that the octa-core processor will be working at an underclocked speed of 2.0 GHz. There is no information available on the RAM and storage editions of the device.</p>
<p>Like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-pad-3">Mi Pad 3</a>, the successor device will be arriving with an LCD screen. Leaked firmware files had carried references for 18:9 aspect ratio display for Mi Pad 4. A tablet sporting such a tall aspect ratio sounds weird. Hence, it is advisable to wait for further leaks to confirm on its display configuration.</p>

Today, XDA Developers has shared the key specifications of the upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> tablet through its leaked firmware files.</p>
<p>According to the publication, there are some evidences in the firmware files that show that Xiaomi will indeed release a tablet in the near future. The firmware files contain references for pad that refers to a tablet PC. Its default screen density is set to a low value of 320ppi which is again suitable for a tablet, and it features a huge 6,000mAh battery which is quite big for a smartphone. Also, the ro.build.characteristics property in the build.prop is set to “tablet”. This property is accessed by apps to confirm whether to show a tablet interface. The same property is also set to “tablet” in the predecessor <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-pad-3">Mi Pad 3</a>, while it is set to default on a smartphone like Mi Max 3.</p>
<p>The publication claims that the Boolean value present in the “is_18x9_ratio_screen” MIUI config is set to true which hints that the tablet may feature an 18:9 aspect ratio. It sounds weird as a tablet with such an elongated screen may look quite absurd. The tablet is expected to feature an LCD panel like the Mi Pad 3.</p>
<p>The firmware files have also revealed that the Snapdragon 660 chipset will be powering the Mi Pad 4. However, its clocking speed to 2.0 GHz, instead of its usual processing rate of 2.2 GHz. As of this writing, there is no information available on the RAM and storage editions of the Mi Pad 4.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-127037" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Xiaomi-Mi-Pad-3.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Mi Pad 3" width="500" height="500" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Xiaomi-Mi-Pad-3.jpg 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Xiaomi-Mi-Pad-3-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Xiaomi-Mi-Pad-3-300x300.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></p>

<p>Since the “nosdcard” property is missing from ro.build.characteristics which indicates that the device may feature a microSD card slot. However, it is still doubtful as the Mi Pad 3 does not feature a microSD card slot.</p>
<p>When it comes to photography, the Mi Pad 4 is likely to offers its users with a single rear camera featuring 13-megapixel OmniVision OV13855 sensor with an aperture of 2.0. At the front, it may feature 5-megapixel Samsung S5K5E8 sensor with an aperture of f/2.0. The Mi Pad 4 is unlikely to support 4K video shooting. However, it will be arriving with support for portrait mode. Lastly, the device will be lacking NFC connectivity.</p>
<p>The other specs and pricing of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 is still under the wraps. As of this writing, there is no information available on its launch date.</p>

After its removal from the official site, the rumor mill started claiming that the Chinese firm may not debut a successor tablet. Today, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has officially confirmed on Weibo that the company is presently working on a next-generation tablet.</p>
<p>The <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-pad-3/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mi Pad 3</a> is completely sold out because of which it is no longer available for buying on Xiaomi’s store. Jun has not confirmed on company’s plan on replenishing the stocks of Mi Pad 3. Also, he has not given out any information on the arrival time of Mi Pad 4.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-156294 size-full aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Xiaomi-Mi-Pad-4-official-confirmation-e1509550160518.png?x44794" alt="" width="592" height="252" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Xiaomi-Mi-Pad-4-official-confirmation-e1509550160518.png 592w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Xiaomi-Mi-Pad-4-official-confirmation-e1509550160518-300x128.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 592px) 100vw, 592px" /></p>
<p>The Mi Pad 3 was made official in April 2017. If the company plans to launch a new tablet around April 2018, the company may add new batch of Mi Pad 3 tablets.</p>
<p>Many leading companies like Microsoft, Apple and Samsung are now selling 2-in-1 laptop-tablet hybrid devices. Hence, Xiaomi is expected to debut Mi Pad 4 as a 2-in-1 device. Rumors are rife that the Mi Pad 4 may support dual booting for Android OS and Windows 10.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-127037 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Xiaomi-Mi-Pad-3.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Mi Pad 3" width="500" height="500" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Xiaomi-Mi-Pad-3.jpg 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Xiaomi-Mi-Pad-3-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Xiaomi-Mi-Pad-3-300x300.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></p>

<p>None of the Mi Pad tablets from Xiaomi carry support for 4G LTE connectivity. After launching the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air with Wi-Fi connectivity in the previous year, the company had introduced a 4G LTE model at the end of 2016. Hence, there is a possibility the Mi Pad 4 may carry support for 4G LTE connectivity.</p>
<p>The Mi Pad 3 features a 7.9-inch LCD display that supports 2,048 x 1,536 pixels. It is driven by MediaTek MT8176 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. It carries an internal storage capacity of 64 GB.</p>
<p>Unlike the Mi Pad 2 from last year that came in Android and Windows 10 versions, the Mi Pad 3 was launched with MIUI 8 skinned Android OS. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel shooter on its front. It includes a huge 6,600mAh capacity battery.</p>

The tablet carries forward a similar design language as the Mi Pad 2, which isn&#8217;t really a bad thing given that the all-metal built looks quite premium on the tablet. <img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-125702 lazyloaded" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-pad-3.jpg?x44794" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-pad-3.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-pad-3-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-pad-3-300x300.jpg 300w" alt="Xiaomi Mi Pad 3" width="610" height="610" data-lazy-src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-pad-3.jpg?x44794" data-lazy-srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-pad-3.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-pad-3-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-pad-3-300x300.jpg 300w" data-lazy-sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></p>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 comes with a 7.9-inch 2K display and is powered by a large 6600mAh battery. This should be enough for nearly 12 hours of video playback on the device. Inside, the MTK MT8176 hexa-core processor sporting 2 x Cortex A72 cores + 4 x Cortex A53 cores and 4GB RAM ensures good performance. Overall, the Mi Pad 3 is a pretty decent upgrade over its predecessor.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">RELATED:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/04/14/xiaomi-mi-pad-3-hands-on-a-worthy-upgrade-after-two-years/">Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 Hands On Video</a></strong></p>
<p>The tablet was launched at around $215 in China and resellers are charging as much as $50-$100 premium on this price. However, during the current flash sale on Gearbest.com, the seller is offering the tablet at $269.99. Now, that may not really be the best price in the market today but to make things more interesting, we have just got a special coupon for the Mi Pad 3 flash sale.</p>

<p>You can purchase the Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 for just $256.99 right now using the<span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong> coupon: TabPC. </strong></span>As of writing this article, I have personally checked the coupon and it does reduce the price to just $256.99. It&#8217;s a good price if you are in the market looking to purchase the new Xiaomi tablet. But please note that just 50 units are available on Gearbest at this price, so you might want to check it out as soon as possible, before the deal runs out!</p>

As usual to the company, Xiaomi&#8217;s tablets represent a great combination of design and specs in one package. Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 was announced just a few weeks back and it is one of the better options for the price if you are looking for a compact yet premium tablet.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-128514" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Screenshot-2017-04-26-21.37.30.png?x44794" alt="" width="1024" height="832" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Screenshot-2017-04-26-21.37.30.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Screenshot-2017-04-26-21.37.30-300x244.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Screenshot-2017-04-26-21.37.30-768x624.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>The new Xiaomi tablet comes with all the goodies that you would expect in a device in 2017. You have a large 7.9-inch 2K display up front along with a capable 6600mAh battery to power the device all day.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-128515" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Screenshot-2017-04-26-21.37.37.png?x44794" alt="" width="1024" height="736" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Screenshot-2017-04-26-21.37.37.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Screenshot-2017-04-26-21.37.37-300x216.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Screenshot-2017-04-26-21.37.37-768x552.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>In fact, Xiaomi claims that the tablet can playback videos for up to 12 hours on a single charge. We’ll confirm that soon. Inside, you have the less popular MTK MT8176 hexa-core processor sporting 2 x Cortex A72 cores + 4 x Cortex A53 cores inside.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-128517" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Screenshot-2017-04-26-21.38.17.png?x44794" alt="" width="1024" height="664" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Screenshot-2017-04-26-21.38.17.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Screenshot-2017-04-26-21.38.17-300x195.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Screenshot-2017-04-26-21.38.17-768x498.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>

You can check out the video below to see what&#8217;s new in the design and the changes in the hardware.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><iframe loading="lazy" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/wPl4LVJPP9A?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>

<p>The new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> tablet comes with all the goodies that you would expect in a device in 2017. You have a large 7.9-inch 2K display up front along with a capable 6600mAh battery to power the device all day. In fact, Xiaomi claims that the tablet can playback videos for up to 12 hours on a single charge. We&#8217;ll confirm that soon. Inside, you have the less popular MTK MT8176 hexa-core processor sporting 2 x Cortex A72 cores + 4 x Cortex A53 cores inside. This along with 4GB of RAM provides pretty decent performance, but we&#8217;ll focus on the performance of the tablet in the full review coming soon.</p>

<p>You get 64GB ROM inside with no MicroSD expansion &#8212; a shame since the original one had this feature. Further, the tablet starts at $220 in China, but as usual, the demand for the tab is quite high at the moment, giving its third party reseller pricing a boost. At present, you can get hold of the <a href="https://www.giztop.com/xiaomi-mi-pad-3.html/">Mi Pad 3 on giztop for $249.99</a>.</p>

Now, Xiaomi seems to have officially launched the Mi Pad 3 today and the device will be going on sale as from tomorrow on various channels. This is another quiet launch and it seems we will be having more of such this year. Read on for the specifications of the Mi Pad 3.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/mi-pad-3/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-125702" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-pad-3.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Mi Pad 3" width="610" height="610" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-pad-3.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-pad-3-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-pad-3-300x300.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi Pad is powered by a high-performance MediaTek processor with a clock frequency of 2.1GHz. The tablet comes with a 7.9-inch retinal display with 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution and PPI of up to 326. At the rear, there is a 13MP rear shooter while up front, you get a 5MP selfie camera.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/mi-pad-3-5/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-125706" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-pad-3-5.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Mi Pad 3" width="610" height="230" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-pad-3-5.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-pad-3-5-300x113.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<p>Further, the Mi Pad 3 features 4GB of RAM as well as a 64GB storage. It uses the USB Type-C charging interface and supports WiFi 802.11ac dual antenna band. The Pad 3 also comes with support for low-power Bluetooth 4.1 technology. Keeping the lights on is said to be a large 6600mAh battery which supports 5V/2A fast charging. The tablet device gets its interface from the MIUI 8.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/mi-pad-3-4/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-125705" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-pad-3-4.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Mi Pad 3" width="610" height="233" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-pad-3-4.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/mi-pad-3-4-300x115.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<p>On the design aspect, the Mi Pad 3 is made from a metal alloy material which gives its appearance a tough but slightly textured look. The metallic body is polished using a sandblasting process which doesn&#8217;t remove the texture but also gives it a comfortable feel when held.</p>

<p>Today, an image said to be of the rear shells of the upcoming tablet(s) was posted on Weibo. Its hard to tell if the shells belongs to the Android or Windows version as there isn&#8217;t any detail specifying that. However, the image shows us that Xiaomi will be releasing the tablet in multiple colors. The shells are available in gold, silver, rose/red, and a fourth color that appears to be black but with in-laid ridges.</p>

What we have today reveals more details and clear things up a bit.</p>
<p>For the Mi Pad 3, the source says Xiaomi will be launching two screen and OS variants. The first one will retain the original 7.9-inch display size like its predecessors but there is no mention of its screen resolution. It will have 4GB of RAM and will have 64GB and 128GB storage variants. The 7.9-inch Mi Pad 3 will come with Android 7.0 Nougat and will be priced at ¥1299 ($188) and ¥1599 ($231) respectively.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-111060 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Mi-Pad-3-screen-e1481712576116.jpg?x44794" alt="Mi Pad 3" width="321" height="333" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Mi-Pad-3-screen-e1481712576116.jpg 321w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Mi-Pad-3-screen-e1481712576116-289x300.jpg 289w" sizes="(max-width: 321px) 100vw, 321px" /></p>
<p>The second variant which will be called the Mi Pad 3 Pro will have a 9.7-inch display. Display resolution is unknown for this too but RAM and storage options are the same as the smaller one. It will be powered by an Intel 8750 (probably the Atom x7-Z8750) and will ship with Windows 10 on board. The price for the larger variant will start at ¥1699 ($246).</p>

<p>There are still a lot of unknowns like the processor powering the smaller variant and battery capacities for both. It will also be nice to know if they will both have the same camera sensors. The launch is expected to be on the same date as that of the Mi 6 which was rumored to be in April initially but is now said to have been <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/?s=Mi+6&amp;post_type=post">pushed to May</a>.</p>
