As expected, Xiaomi has officially launched the Mi Portable Bluetooth Speaker (16W) and Mi Neckband Bluetooth Earphones Pro in India. The former product is already available in certain markets, whereas the latter has made its global debut. Let us take a look at their specs, features, pricing, and availability

Mi Portable Bluetooth Speaker (16W) Specifications, Features, & Price

The new Xiaomi Bluetooth speaker for India is rectangular in shape with a mesh-like design all around it and a lanyard. It features 2 x 8W speakers to give a maximum output rate of 16W. This speaker comes with dual sound modes (normal, deep bass) to choose from.

Additionally, users can pair two units to experience a surround sound experience (stereo). Further, the speaker includes physical buttons to power on/off, pause/play track, control volume, toggle Bluetooth mode, and enable Stereo mode.

The speaker can not only connect via Bluetooth 5.0 but also through 3.5mm aux-in. It even has an in-built microphone to make calls and is IPX7 certified for water resistance.

Lastly, the company claims 13-hour battery life (at 50% volume) from its 2,600mAh battery that charges via USB Type-C port. The product measures 213 x 74  x 74mm in dimensions, weighs 790g, and comes in two colors (Black, Blue).

Xiaomi has priced the Mi Portable Bluetooth Speaker (16W) at ₹2,499 ($35) It can be bought from Mi.com and Mi Home stores starting today (February 22). It will be also available on Amazon from 1st March.

Mi Neckband Bluetooth Earphones Pro Specifications, Features, & Price

This new pair of neckband-style wireless earphones are the higher variant of the already available Mi Neckband Bluetooth Earphones. The latest model brings notable upgrades for just ₹200 more.

First and foremost, these earphones support both ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) and ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation). The company claims that this product is capable of reducing the surrounding noise to up to 25dB. The older model does not have any of these.

Further, it features 10mm drivers, and the speakers sport an anti-blockage net to avoid small particles enter inside. It also has some anti-cerumen design that helps in keeping the buds clean and wax-free.

Additionally, the product is IPX5-certified for splash resistance and is backed by a 150mAh battery that can offer up to 20-hour battery life at 50% volume. Last but not least, the new Xiaomi neckband earphones connect via Bluetooth 5.0, weigh 36g, charge through MicroUSB, and comes in a single color option (Blue).

The Xiaomi Mi Neckband Bluetooth Earphones Pro are priced at ₹1,799 ($25). It can be purchased from either Mi.com, Mi Home stores, or Amazon India from February 22 (today). It will also be sold by leading offline retailers starting 1st March.

Xiaomi India has shared a short teaser video on its social handles with #MiSoundUnveil. Hence, we can confirm that the two products in the video will be Mi-branded and not Redmi.

Further, we think that they could be Mi Portable Bluetooth Speaker (16W) and Mi Neckband Bluetooth Earphones Pro respectively. The former is already available in some markets, whereas the latter is yet to go official.

Talking about the speaker, as its name suggests, it comes with 16W power output with the help of 2 x 8W units. The product connects with devices wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.0 and wired through a 3.5mm aux-in.

It is elongated in design and comes in two colors – Black and Blue. Hence, it measures 213 x 74 x 74mm in dimensions. The speaker also has physical buttons for music control and options along with a lanyard to carry it.

Lastly, the Mi Portable Bluetooth Speaker (16W) is IPX7-certified for water resistance and is backed by a 2,600mAh battery, which is rated to run the product for approximately 13 hours at 50% volume.

On the other hand, not much is known about the Mi Neckband Bluetooth Earphones Pro apart from the fact that it will feature Bluetooth 5.0, IPX4 certification for water resistance, and support SBC as well as AAC audio codecs.

Two new Xiaomi products have been certified by the Bluetooth SIG. The first is the Mi Portable Wireless Mouse 2 which was listed on August 11 and there is the Mi Portable Bluetooth Speaker (16W) that was listed yesterday.

Mi Portable Wireless Mouse 2

At the beginning of the year, Xiaomi announced the Mi Portable Wireless Mouse in India. The mouse which costs INR 500 (~$7) is a rebadged Mi Wireless Mouse Youth Edition that was announced in China in 2018. Now a successor is on the way.

The Bluetooth certification page says the mouse has the model number BXSBMW02 and supports connection over Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi. There is a chance that the new mouse is also a rebadge of an already existing product such as the Xiaomi Wireless Mouse 2 that was announced last November.

Mi Portable Bluetooth Speaker (16W)

Xiaomi may also soon announce a new portable speaker. The Mi Portable Bluetooth Speaker (16W) has the model number MDZ-36-DB and connects via Bluetooth 5.0. From the product name, we can deduce that it has a 16W output.

Xiaomi has launched several speakers including smart ones. The Mi Portable Wireless Mouse 2 should be one of the affordable ones with a possible price tag under $20.
