Xiaomi has scheduled its Smarter Living 2022 event tomorrow at 12 PM in the Indian market. It is slated to be one of the biggest online Xiaomi events to happen in India in 2021. Rumors are rife that the Chinese tech giant will launch multiple products at the event including smart wearables, smart TVs, laptops, and other gadgets.

Ahead of its launch, let’s take a look at what we can expect at the online event. The event will be live-streamed on Xiaomi’s official youtube handle at 12 PM.

Xiaomi Smarter Living 2022 – Products expected at the launch 

Xiaomi Notebook series 

Recently, Xiaomi confirmed that the new Mi Notebooks will launch in the Indian market soon. Mr. Raghu Reddy from Xiaomi revealed that the upcoming Mi Notebook will come with a backlit keyboard.

The company is expected to launch the Mi Notebook 14 and Mi Notebook Ultra 15 at the launch. For starters, these Notebooks have already launched in other regions. The former laptop comes with a 14-inch LCD display with 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the Notebook Ultra comes with a 15.6-inch screen size with a 3.5k display resolution and. It

The laptop series has an 11th generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processor and has up to RTX 3050Ti processor. It has 1TB of storage and boots on Android 11 out of the box.

Mi Band 6

Xiaomi has already launched the Mi Band 6 in China. Now, it is expected to arrive in India tomorrow. The Mi Band 6 is rumored to cost similarly to the existing Mi Band 5.

It will come with a bigger 1.56-inch AMOLED display with 152 x 486 pixels. It also has 2.5D curved glass on top. It has up to 120 Watch Faces and has a 125W battery.

Mi TV 5X

Xiaomi has scheduled to launch the Mi TV 5x television series tomorrow. The Mi TV 5X is expected to launch in three sizes 43-inch, 50-inch, and 55-inch. It is said to offer Dolby Atmos sound and will be backed up by 40W fast charging.

The laptop series is expected to have a cinematic viewing experience. It has ALLU(Automatic Low Latency Mode). It has a 20W Bluetooth speaker with DTS support.

Mi Shoes, Mi Security camera, Mi Router

Apart from laptops and wearables, Xiaomi is also expected to bring new Security cameras. Unfortunately, there are limited details on which models are exactly launching. But, considering that the launch is just a few hours away, we’ll just sit back and wait for the live event.

Xiaomi has just announced various new products in its on going launch live stream. In this online conference, the company announced the new Mi AX9000 Gaming Wi-Fi Router, which features WiFi 6 standards.

The Mi AX9000 router is a Tri-band router that supports both 2.4 and 5G bands and is powered by a hexa core Qualcomm chipset (4 CPU + 2 NPU) under the hood. A notable inclusion is that the Chinese tech giant has also offered a third 5G_Game band as well, which as the name suggests, is clearly dedicated towards gaming. Furthermore, the AX9000 offers 4×4 160MHz bandwidth over the 4×4 80Mhz that was found in the AX3000 series routers.

The new WiFi router also supports MU-MIMO and OFDMA, meaning it can support connectivity for up to 16 devices. Looking at the design, the router features a unique aesthetic with its ‘X’ shaped cross LEDs on the top of its octagonal shaped router. Four antennas can also be observed with the rear having four LAN ports as well. Notably, the company has also offered a USB 3.0 port. For cooling, the device also sports a single fan that can keep the router cool.

Thanks to its Qualcomm processor, the WiFi router supports speeds of up to 4,804Mbps depending on the connected frequency. Xiaomi also placed an emphasis on connectivity and range with the new Mi AX9000 series router, which it promises can offer strong speeds up to a range of 12 meters, through any walls or obstacles in the users’ house. The new router will be available for a price of 999 Yuan (roughly 152 US Dollars).

Xiaomi has finally confirmed that it will announce its new Wi-Fi 6 router, the Xiaomi AIoT AX3600 at the Xiaomi Mi 10 online launch event on February 13. The existence of this router was first revealed by Digital Chat Station a couple of days back. But today, the company also revealed that the new router will be based on the Qualcomm Networking Pro 600 Wi-Fi 6 platform, which is essentially built for enterprise-grade routers.

Xiaomi has highlighted that the Mi AIoT AX3600 Wi-Fi ax router is the first to use an enterprise-grade platform for the consumer market. In the image shared on the company’s Weibo account, we can see that this router will be powered by Qualcomm’s IPQ8071 platform. The chipmaker explains that this platform is “the ideal architecture for retail routers, two-radio mesh networking systems, broadband gateways, as well as enterprise and carrier-class applications.”

The new-age Wi-Fi 6 promises to optimize power consumption and coverage capabilities of a router with support for high-speed concurrent connections. Other benefits of this new-generation connectivity include lower overall latency and high rate of data transmission.

We can expect more details about the new router in the next couple of days. It will officially launch alongside the Mi 10 series at an online-only event in China on Thursday, February 13.

Xiaomi is often referred to as the “Apple of China” because of its innovative products and when we think of Apple we are reminded of its late founder Steve Jobs. Xiaomi is always keen to copy Apple’s innovations and that may have veered into non-tech related aspect. In a recent Weibo post, the company’s social media handlers shared a poster with the caption “One more thing”. Now, this was Steve Job’s legendary parting shot during the company’s launch events and it is usually followed by the unexpected announcement of a new product.

Seems Xiaomi is going to be following that path and may likely be announcing another product on February 20 aside from the Mi 9. As for what the product could be, the Mi Router Weibo handle did not leave us in doubt indicating that a new router would be joining the fray. There is no detail about the router but we expect it to be an upgrade over the current crop of high-end routers.

Last week, Xiaomi announced Mi Router 4C, the third router in the company’s Mi Router 4-series after the Mi Router 4 and Mi Router 4Q, priced at 99 Yuan (approximately $14). With Xiaomi’s Mi Router HD, Mi Router Pro to the Mi Router 4-series, the company now routers in high-end as well as entry-level category.

Within days of announcing the Mi Router 4C, the device is now available for purchase in China for a discounted price of 79 Yuan, roughly $12 through Xiaomi Mall, Xiaomi Youpin, Mi Home and TMall.

Similar to the Mi Router 4, the newly launched affordable router comes in white color with a compact design. The device packs MT7628DA processor and 64MB DDR2 RAM with 16MB Nor Flash, similar to its predecessor Mi Router 3C. It also supports smart APP management for remote management of home network and running status.

The router comes with four omnidirectional antennas, enabling it to transmit signals in all directions regardless of where it is placed facing. The company says that the router can operate stably with up to 64 devices connected at the same time. It supports 2.4GHz connection up to 300Mbps with IEEE 802.11 b/n/n.

As for the ports, there are two LAN ports and one WAN port. The router also supports intelligent speed limit that can automatically optimize speed when multiple devices are using the same network. Users can also opt to manually optimize the speed and can also prioritize a single device to allocate more bandwidth.

In terms of wireless security, it supports WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK encryption, wireless access control (blacklisting and whitelisting), and SSID hiding and isolation. Ahead of its big launch event scheduled on May 31st in Shenzhen, Xiaomi has today launched its next-generation router — Mi Router 4. The router has been priced at 199 Yuan, which roughly converts to $31.

In terms of design, the newly launched Mi Router 4 is quite similar to the Mi Router 3. It comes with 4 omnidirectional antennae and uses a large area of aluminum-magnesium alloy heat sink and a high thermal conductivity thermal paste.

On the rear side, there are cooling holes as well as bottom shell opening, aimed at improving the effectivity and efficiency of the overall cooling system.

As of the internals, the router comes with 128MB of RAM and 128GB of flash storage, similar to its predecessor. However, the company has opted for an upgrade for the CPU, and thus, the Mi Router 4 packs MT7621A chipset which can provide connectivity to up to 128 devices.

As for the port availability, there’s one WAN port and two LAN ports on the back side. On the top side, there’s Mi branding in the center and LED lights for indicating connectivity. We are expecting the router to have a USB port just like its predecessor, but it isn’t confirmed yet.

The Mi Router 3, which was launched last year, comes with MT7620A processor. It was operating on MiWiFi OS, which is based on OpenWRT and we are assuming that this newly launched Mi Router 4 is also using the same operating system. The router can be configured through a web interface as well as through its mobile application which is available for Android as well as iOS.

The Mi Router 4 uses Gigabit WAN/LAN+2.4G/5G dual-band Wi-Fi and supports MiNET to quickly connect smart devices with a click of single button. To connect, users will just have to press the MiNET button and will quickly connect smart devices to the router without passwords.

In terms of wireless security, it supports WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK encryption, wireless access control (blacklisting and whitelisting), SSID hiding, intrusion detection, DoS protection, access control manager, and SSID isolation.

The Xiaomi Mi Router 4 is priced at 199 Yuan (approximately $31), which is 50 Yuan more than the Mi Router 3. It will go on sale in China from 25th May through Xiaomi Mall, Youpin, Tmall, Jingdong, and Suning. Further, the devices will be available to purchase from Mi Home Stores as well.

Xiaomi has been teasing about a new launch for the past couple of days and as predicted, the company announced a brand new router along with a couple of other products at an event in China.

The company has made a lot of changes in the new Xiaomi router, including its design. Now, the device looks more of a router than a CPU, with a flatter rectangular design. It looks almost as thick as the older generation model, probably due to the massive storage that comes inside.

Like the previous model, this new router comes with 1TB storage. However, those who want to take things to a whole new level can now opt for a 6TB version as well. Yes, the company has finally decided to make this option available for those users who are always in short of storage.

Even under the hood, the Xiaomi router sports some changes. First of all, it will be the first device to feature Broadcom Broadcom 4709C dual-core processor clocked at 1.4Ghz which improves performance by 40% as compared to the previous version. This along with the 512MB RAM on board should ensure seamless connection to the internet as well as consistent access to high-speed internet.

The router comes with 2×2 external PCB dual antenna array with advanced signal tracking technology. The company claims that this ensures better connectivity throughout the home. Moreover, the overall structure is designed to keep the device cool.

As for the features, you can do a lot of things with the 6TB (if you opt for that model) storage inside. You can connect your smartphone, tablet or even laptop to the router and backup all your contents on the device. These photos, videos, and other files are accessible remotely from anywhere in the world, provided you have an internet connection.  You can even connect your camera with Wi-Fi to the router to backup all of your photos.

Another important feature is the through the app. Users can download and install the Xiaomi router app from the app store and can search for a number of titles. They can then keep the file for download remotely and the router will start downloading it back at home. So, once the user gets back, he or she can directly access that file.

Finally, the router can block malicious URLs, phishing websites, web adverts and will also help in privacy protection. You can also set permissions for each connected device. Overall, an interesting upgrade. The router is actually a multi-purpose storage hub, which can act as an interesting addition to your home as well as office environment.

The 1TB version of the router starts at the same price as the older generation model, i.e. at 699 Yuan. But if you want the 6TB version, you will have to shell out 2999 Yuan.

Based on the poster, it looks like Xiaomi’s new hardware will be smart home appliance. There is a drawing of a lamp bulb and dock in the poster. Xiaomi has started producing home appliances with the Mi Router as the entry point and the Mi phone as the end point.

This afternoon, Xiaomi announced that on September 19, 12:00 PM, they would release the “Mi Router Commemorative Edition” which will cost 999 RMB. Purchases would still be made via pre-ordering. Unlike the regular version, the Commemorative Edition would come in a re-issued wooden case with the router’s components inside, allowing the user to set up the router by himself or herself.

The Commemorative Edition has the same specs as the regular version. It will use the 1.0GHz BCM4709 Cortex-A9 dual-core processor, has 256MB DDR3-1600 RAM and 16MB RAM, as well as a 2.5-inch 1TB hard-disk. It will also support 2.4G/5G dual-frequency Wi-FI and comes with two dual-frequency antennas. It also supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and has a USB 2.0 port.

At Xiaomi headquarters, Hardware Reinvention found a Mi Router Mini that had just been manufactured this month. According to the report, Xiaomi is still making some improvements on its software functions. It bears a strong resemblance to Apple’s Ipad and has been humorously compared to the Yoga tablet’s router.

Paper-packaged, specifications are posted at the top, uses MTK solution, MT7620A processor, a clock rate of 580MHz, and 128MB memory. It should be noted that it supports a 2.5GHz+5GHz double frequency and an omnidirectional antenna.
