<h3><strong>Mi TV 4 is Still Running the Launch Software</strong></h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">For the unaware, the Mi TV 4 launched as the world’s thinnest LED TV in Inda in early 2018. It ran a forked AOSP software with PatchWall launcher for content aggregation. The TV debuted at ₹39,999 but the price was soon incremented to ₹44,999.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The Chinese tech company also released two budget TVs namely Mi TV 4A 32” and 43” along with it. Later that year, ahead of Diwali, the firm announced newer models, which ran </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Android-TV/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Android TV</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> with improved PatchWall and had access to Play Store, Google Assistant, and more.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">At the launch event, Xiaomi promised to update all the existing TVs (the first three models). But the company was unclear from the very beginning in regards to Mi TV 4. The cheaper models received the Android TV update after over a year from the initial announcement.</span></p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/1S0wjswfuvQ?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">In between this, users were constantly asking further information about the update for Mi TV 4 on social media and official forums. However, the company executives dodged all of them. This TV is still running PacthWall 1.0 with no access to popular streaming services.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">On the other hand, the online customer service maintained the update is in works like we reported last week. But now the company has finally broken the ice with an exclusive discount offer on the Mi Box 4K for Mi TV 4 users.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">In other words, users are getting the deserved Android TV update in the form of a new product but they have to shell out extra ₹2,499 for the same.</span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><strong>Xiaomi India&#8217;s Official Explanation Regarding Mi TV 4 Android TV Update</strong></h3>
<p><em><span style="font-weight: 400">At Xiaomi, our endeavor is to provide the best Smart TV experience to all our Mi Fans and we are constantly working on improving it. While we have pushed the latest Android TV update to over 3 Million devices, we regret to inform that android updates cannot be made available to Mi TV 4 55&#8243; because of the custom chip used in the device on account of its unique design which does not support the requirement for Android TV codecs.</span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="font-weight: 400">In lieu of the same, we are offering a discount of Rs 1000 on our newly launched Mi Box 4K to all our existing Mi TV 4 55&#8243; customers.</span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="font-weight: 400">Mi Box 4K is a promising solution that offers exciting features such as Android TV experience, Google Assistant and Chromecast Built-in and much more.</span></em></p>

But the TV was left out for Android TV update, which is even available for cheaper models launched alongside it. But now, it seems like the update is indeed coming for this model after over 2 years from its release.</p>

<h3><strong>Customer service reveals Android TV update for Mi TV 4 55&#8243;</strong></h3>
<p>A user shared the screenshot of his chat with Xiaomi India Customer Service. He asked if the Mi TV 4 55&#8243; would receive <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Android-TV/">Android TV</a> update. To his surprise, the executive replied the developers on working on it and will be rolling out in phases after testing.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-321625 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Mi-TV-4-55-Android-TV-Update-Customer-Service-Chat-472x1024.jpg?x10805" alt="Mi TV 4 55 Android TV Update Customer Service Chat" width="472" height="1024" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Mi-TV-4-55-Android-TV-Update-Customer-Service-Chat-472x1024.jpg 472w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Mi-TV-4-55-Android-TV-Update-Customer-Service-Chat-138x300.jpg 138w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Mi-TV-4-55-Android-TV-Update-Customer-Service-Chat-194x420.jpg 194w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Mi-TV-4-55-Android-TV-Update-Customer-Service-Chat.jpg 590w" sizes="(max-width: 472px) 100vw, 472px" /></p>
<p>Hearing this, the user was puzzled and asked if the executive is really talking about Mi TV 4 55&#8243; since most of the users have lost hope. To this, the executive simply replied ‘Yes’ confirming the fact from his side.</p>
<p>Anyway, we would like you to take this information with a pinch of salt. Because information from customer service executives is always not accurate.</p>
<h3><strong>Sub-standard software support for Mi TVs in India</strong></h3>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Xiaomi/">Xiaomi</a> entered the smart TV market of India with the launch of Mi TV 4 55&#8243; and Mi TV 4A 43&#8243; / 32&#8243; in early 2018. These TVs ran AOSP Android with PatchWall interface on top of it for content aggregation.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/1S0wjswfuvQ?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>Later, in the same year, the company launched new TV models powered by Android TV platform with support for Google services like Play Store, Chromecast, YouTube, and Google Assistant. During the launch, Xiaomi promised to update Mi TV 4A 43&#8243; and 32&#8243; to this new platform but did not even mention the premium Mi TV 4 55&#8243;.</p>
<p>Users have been requesting for updates for over two years on Twitter and Mi Community. But the company’s executives don’t pay heed to their tweets or community threads.</p>
<p>On the other hand, the update for Mi TV 4A 43&#8243; / 32&#8243; was delayed for over a year and was only rolled out in late 2019. That too, with a lot of bugs like the buzzing of speakers in lower volume levels. Above all, these TVs still don&#8217;t support Netflix.</p>

The new prices will come into effect starting from May 1 across Mi.com, Mi Store app, Mi Home outlets, Flipkart and offline retailers.</p>
<p>Xiaomi has only spiked the price of 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM edition of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-note-5-pro">Redmi Note 5 Pro</a>. It has been selling with a price tag of Rs. 13,999 (~$210). However, beginning from tomorrow, it will be available for buying for Rs. 14,999 (~$225). The 64 GB storage + 6 GB RAM variant of the Redmi Note 5 Pro will continue to sell for Rs. 16,999 (~$255).</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-173760" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Xiaomi-redmi-note5-pro-11.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro" width="800" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Xiaomi-redmi-note5-pro-11.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Xiaomi-redmi-note5-pro-11-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Xiaomi-redmi-note5-pro-11-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Xiaomi-redmi-note5-pro-11-160x120.jpg 160w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></p>
<p>The Mi TV 4 (55-inch) was introduced in February with a pricing of Rs. 39,999 (~$601). Starting from tomorrow, it will be selling for Rs. 44,999 (~$676) after a price spike of Rs. 5,000 (~$75). There is no change in the pricing of the other smart TVs from the company. The Mi TV 4A 43-inch and 32-inch are respectively available for Rs. 22,999 (~$346) and Rs. 13,999 (~$210).</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-188262 size-large" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Xiaomi-Mi-TV-4-55-inch-1024x657.png?x10805" alt="" width="640" height="411" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Xiaomi-Mi-TV-4-55-inch-1024x657.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Xiaomi-Mi-TV-4-55-inch-300x193.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Xiaomi-Mi-TV-4-55-inch-768x493.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Xiaomi-Mi-TV-4-55-inch.png 1502w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-note-5">Redmi Note 5</a>, Note 5 Pro and 55-inch Mi TV 4 that were launched in India in February this year have met with overwhelming sales. According Xiaomi’s Global VP and Managing Director for India, the company has been importing a significant amount of PCBAs for Note 5 Pro and Mi TV4 in to order to ramp up their supply. By increasing the manufacturing capacity, the company aims to stock up monthly volume of one million units of Redmi Note 5 Pro. He added that the company has increased the pricing of these two devices as the Indian government has increased the import tax on PCBAs by 10 percent and at the same time Indian rupee has depreciated by around 5 percent.</p>

<p>Xiaomi has already starting manufacturing various components including PCBAs in India. It is manufacturing PCBAs in collaboration with Taiwan-based Foxconn at the units in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. Jain claimed that the company is aiming to ramp up its production completely by the third quarter of this year. Hence, it seems that there is a hope that the company may reduce the price of these devices by the end of this year.</p>

Since it has already launched the Mi TV 4 in India, it is speculated that the Mi TV 4A series may arrive soon. It seems that the rumor may come true as 32-inch Mi TV 4A and another new Mi TV has been found listed on the official website.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-176385" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Xiaomi-Mi-TV-4A-32-inch-price-leak-1024x571.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi-Mi-TV-4A-32-inch-price-leak-1024x571" width="1024" height="571" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Xiaomi-Mi-TV-4A-32-inch-price-leak-1024x571.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Xiaomi-Mi-TV-4A-32-inch-price-leak-1024x571-300x167.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Xiaomi-Mi-TV-4A-32-inch-price-leak-1024x571-768x428.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>The above image belongs to the temporary listing of 32-inch Mi TV 4A with Rs. 12,999 (~$200). The listing does not contain any images. It could be the very same 32-inch Mi TV that was launched in China last year in May.</p>
<p>It is expected to arrive with a 32-inch HD display that supports 1366 x 768 pixels, Amlogic T962 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of storage, MIUI skinned Android with PatchWall, 2 x 5W speaker, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 2 HDMI ports and ports for AV, Ethernet and USB 2.0.</p>

It met with an amazing response by the Indian audience as it was sold out in less than 10 seconds in its first sale. The second flash sale that was held at the end of last month had also met with same results.  If that was not enough, Xiaomi is now prepping up to launch a new series of Mi TV in India. Rumors are rife that it could be the Mi TV 4A series that was launched in China last year. Here is the official teaser from the company on the new series of Mi TV for India.</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true">
<p lang="en" dir="ltr">Mi fans! It&#39;s time to switch to something smarter, slimmer &amp; sleeker. Time to <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/SwitchToSmart?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#SwitchToSmart</a> TV. A new series coming soon! <a href="https://t.co/ARiE3I54A7">pic.twitter.com/ARiE3I54A7</a></p>
<p>&mdash; Mi India (@XiaomiIndia) <a href="https://twitter.com/XiaomiIndia/status/969109880723275776?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 1, 2018</a></p></blockquote>
<p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p>Last year, Xiaomi had launched the Mi TV 4 in China in multiple options like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/05/18/xiaomi-mi-tv-4-launched-china-4-9mm-thick-deep-learning-ai-starts-3499-yuan-507/">49-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch</a>. However, the company had released only the 55-inch model in India. In July, Xiaomi had launched 32-inch Mi TV 4A with a pricing of 1,099 Yuan (~$175, Rs. 11,300). Its priced was slashed to 999 Yuan (`$157, ~Rs. 10,200) few months ago. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/16/xiaomi-announces-mi-tv-4a-50-inch-model-¥2399-372/">50-inch Mi TV 4A was unveiled</a> with a pricing of 2,399 Yuan (~$378, ~Rs.24,600) this year in January.</p>
<p>Since Xiaomi has hinted that it is going to unveil a new series, it seems that it may debut the Mi TV 4A in India soon. If the company launches, it will certainly disrupt the Indian market with a pricing of around Rs. 20,000.</p>

<p>The Mi TV 4’s Rs. 39,999 pricing is around 25 times cheaper than a smart TV from Samsung in India. Moreover, it is even lower than TVs from Sanyo, Vu and CloudWalker that are selling with affordable pricing in the country. Apart from low pricing, Xiaomi is luring customers with free content of around 500 hours per month across different languages.</p>
<p>The Mi TV could have entered India around three years ago. However, since the company was busy striking deals with content providers, it took long for Mi TV to arrive in India, said Chuang Wang, the co-founder of Xiaomi and global head of Mi TV division with Xiaomi.</p>

Now, the company has posted a new teaser on its social media profiles with hashtag <em>#WhatIsThat</em>. From the hints, it seems that the company might finally bring the Mi TV 4 to India.</p>
<p>The teaser posted on the social media shows a sleek frame along with a message &#8212; <em>&#8220;Mi fans! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? #WhatIsThat Something wonderful is about to happen this Valentine’s Day.&#8221;</em> The device is expected to be the Mi TV 4 which was <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/05/18/xiaomi-mi-tv-4-launched-china-4-9mm-thick-deep-learning-ai-starts-3499-yuan-507/">launched</a> in China last year along with Mi TV 4A.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-173032 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Xiaomi-Mi-TV-4-Flipkart-teaser.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi TV 4 India Launch Teaser" width="822" height="1024" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Xiaomi-Mi-TV-4-Flipkart-teaser.jpg 822w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Xiaomi-Mi-TV-4-Flipkart-teaser-241x300.jpg 241w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Xiaomi-Mi-TV-4-Flipkart-teaser-768x957.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 822px) 100vw, 822px" /></p>
<p>The Mi TV 4 comes in three models &#8212; 49-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch displays with just 4.9mm slim frame-less design. The 43-inch and 49-inch come with a Full-HD 1080p display while the 50-inch, 55-inch, and the 65-inch models have 4K displays.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s interesting given that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi/">Xiaomi</a>’s invite doesn&#8217;t hint anything about the Mi TV launch in India. Xiaomi&#8217;s Redmi Note 5 launch event will take place on February 14 at 12:00 PM IST and as always, the company will be live-streaming the event on its official website.</p>
<p>Previously, there have been a few reports suggesting that China-based Xiaomi would launch a television set in India but every time the company has brushed aside those rumors.</p>
<p>While Mi TV&#8217;s launch at the event has not been confirmed by the company, Xiaomi is surely going to launch the Redmi Note 5 or the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-5/">Redmi 5</a> smartphone at the 14th February event. Based on the source code of the Xiaomi event website, the name Redmi Note 5 has already been confirmed for the upcoming smartphone.</p>
<p>The Indian variant of the Redmi Note 5 is likely to have similar specifications to the Redmi 5 Plus that was launched in China. The company&#8217;s products have garnered several awards in the past like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/04/07/xiaomi-mi-band-2-wins-german-red-dot-design-award/">German Red Dot award won by the Mi Band 2 and the Mi Electric Scooter</a>. Xiaomi&#8217;s tech gadgets have once again shone brighter by getting recognised as winners of the Good Design awards. The award recipients include the Mi Scooter, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/06/28/xiaomi-mi-laser-projector-tv-150-inches-theatre-like-experience/">Mi Laser Projector</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/03/01/xiaomi-launches-249-yuan-walkie-talkie-8-days-standby-time/">Mi Walkie-Talkie</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/05/18/xiaomi-mi-tv-4-launched-china-4-9mm-thick-deep-learning-ai-starts-3499-yuan-507/">Mi TV 4</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-mix/">Mi Mix</a>, Mi VR headset as well as the app interface for the Mi Water Purifier and the Mi LED Desk Lamp<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/xiaomi-good-design-4.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-151775" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/xiaomi-good-design-4.jpg?x10805" alt="xiaomi" width="600" height="300" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/xiaomi-good-design-4.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/xiaomi-good-design-4-300x150.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>The most spectacular of the lot is the Mi Electric Scooter which was voted among the top 100 best designs for 2017, with the likes of the Tesla&#8217;s Model X electric car and other innovative products. The Mi Electric Scooter is one of Xiaomi&#8217;s best selling product which comes with a minimalistic yet beautiful design.  The main body employs a styling element of track shape in neutral colours with red hints adding to the personality. The scooter can hit a speed of 25km/h and has a range of 30km on a single charge. Its front wheel is outfitted with electronic braking &amp; regenerative braking system, and the rear one with disc braking. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/xiaomi-good-design.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-151772" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/xiaomi-good-design.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi Laser Projector" width="600" height="300" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/xiaomi-good-design.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/xiaomi-good-design-300x150.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>The Mi electric Scooter is only one of two products from China to be among the Good Design Best 100, the other being he SmartMi Inverter Air Conditioner. The award page for the electric scooter also reveals its designers as Zhou Tuo, Li Ningning, and Zhao Ziran, with Ningning being the director of the team. In addition, Good Design gave their evaluation of the product thus; &#8220;<em>An overall very intelligently designed and executed scooter smartly incorporating all essential considerations from various safety devices to accommodation for the required battery. The way the scooter is folded is very carefully considered and very user-friendly to operate. The way it hints the association of the classic image of a skateboard is highly commended. The colour scheme is also very smartly coordinated, resulting in a minimalistic yet very vividly defined statement And indeed it is surprisingly powerful during the operation</em>&#8220;.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/xiaomi-good-design-5.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-151776" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/xiaomi-good-design-5.jpg?x10805" alt="xiaomi" width="600" height="261" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/xiaomi-good-design-5.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/xiaomi-good-design-5-300x131.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/xiaomi-mi-tv-4-1.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-131907" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/xiaomi-mi-tv-4-1.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi TV 4" width="610" height="343" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/xiaomi-mi-tv-4-1.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/xiaomi-mi-tv-4-1-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<p>The Mi TV 4&#8217;s main selling point is its ultra-thin built which comes at 4.9mm, thinner tan the iPhone 7. Can you beat that? The Smart TV  comes in three different sizes namely 49 inches, 55 inches and 65 inches. The 65-inch model having a spectacular modular design in which the motherboard, sound system, and the large display are three separate components which can be replaced separately. This is indeed an innovative design making sure that you don’t have to shell out a lot of money to upgrade your smart TV. Just replacing the motherboard with a smarter one is enough to bring your TV up to date. In the same sense, the other sizes have their components crammed into a 4.9mm thick TV.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/xiaomi-mi-tv-4-2.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-131908" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/xiaomi-mi-tv-4-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi TV 4" width="610" height="343" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/xiaomi-mi-tv-4-2.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/xiaomi-mi-tv-4-2-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<h2><strong>Design &amp; Specification</strong></h2>
<p>In addition, the Xiaomi Mi TV 4 comes with a sleek metal body and a frameless display which indeed makes it very beautiful. The screen resolution is up to 4K with an overall awesome visual effect and lots of amazing features. The Mi TV 4 also comes with a transparent stand to blend well with the background for unobtrusive viewing. There’s also a PatchWall software, which is a deep learning AI system embedded right into the TV’s OS. Some of the highlighted features of the software include smart sizing i.e. the size of the recommendation tile will be based on its level of relevancy, infinite recommendations scrolling etc.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-114282" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="mi tv 4 price" width="640" height="360" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></a></p>

This was naturally a big milestone for the company as well as its fans and a big platform for the Chinese smartphone company to announce new products. As expected, the<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi/"> Xiaomi</a> Mi Mix did get a white version, which to be precise is a pearl white version. But along with this new color, Xiaomi announced two new products, the<strong> Xiaomi Mi TV 4</strong> and the Xiaomi Mi Router HD. Here we talk about the brand new and interesting Mi TV 4.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4-06.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-114277" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4-06.jpg?x10805" alt="mi tv 4 frameless design" width="1024" height="576" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4-06.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4-06-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4-06-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>First of all, continuing with its tradition, the 65-inch Xiaomi Mi TV 4 will feature a modular design. So, the motherboard, sound system, and the large display are three separate components which can be replaced separately. This is indeed an innovative design making sure that you don&#8217;t have to shell out a lot of money to upgrade your smart TV. Just replacing the motherboard with a smarter one is enough to bring your TV up to date.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4-08.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-114275" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4-08.jpg?x10805" alt="mi tv 4 modular design" width="1200" height="675" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4-08.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4-08-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4-08-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4-08-1024x576.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></a></p>
<p>But we have already seen <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/10/18/xiaomi-launches-60-inch-mi-tv-3s-4499-yuan-668/">modular TV&#8217;s from Xiaomi before</a>. What&#8217;s really interesting about the Mi TV 4 is its super sleek metal body. The TV comes with a 4.9mm body, that&#8217;s thinner than most of the smartphones that are in the market. Its sleek metal body looks elegant in the pictures and even in real life (the TV was shown off during the event). But just being sleek is not enough, so Xiaomi decided to make the TV frameless as well. The combination of a sleek body and a frameless display indeed makes it very beautiful. The company has even thought about those who don&#8217;t want to fix the TV onto a wall. The Mi TV 4 comes with a transparent stand to blend well with the background for unobtrusive viewing.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Then there&#8217;s the Patchwall software, which is a deep learning AI system embedded right into the TV&#8217;s OS. What this basically does is give out the most relevant suggestions for you. Different users will get different suggestions based on their likes and dislikes and Hugo Barra even went on to say &#8220;it&#8217;s a substantial improvement over any current content UI&#8221;. Some of the highlighted features of software include smart sizing i.e. the size of the recommendation tile will be based on its level of relevancy, infinite recommendations scrolling etc.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-114282" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4.jpg?x10805" alt="mi tv 4 price" width="1024" height="576" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/mi-tv-4-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>For sound, the Mi TV 4 comes with 10 speakers right inside the Mi TV Bar, 2 other satellite speakers, and a subwoofer. It is also the first Xiaomi TV to come with the Dolby Atmos Sound support.</p>
<p>All this for under $2000, which is an impressive price tag. There are two other sizes available, 49-inch and 55-inch.</p>

<p>Now is the time to reveal its release date and shipping details. This is the funny part. Xiaomi announced and showed its new Mi TV 4 in Las Vegas today, but it didn&#8217;t mention any details about its shipping in the US. It&#8217;s confirmed to be coming to China later this year, but for fans who were waiting for a US launch of a major Xiaomi product, their wait continues&#8230;.</p>
<p>Check out a couple more pictures of the Mi TV 4 below.</p>
