Xiaomi has just announced that it would be launching a new smart TV at the beginning of next month. This is the Mi TV 4A 40 Horizon Edition which will be launched on 1st June 2021.

As per a recent tweet from the Chinese tech giant, the new smart television will feature the Horizon Display, which is offered with minimal bezels on all sides. The company is advertising it with a bezel less design and also showcased the TV in an image poster as well. Looking at the tweet, Mi India stated that the TV would offer an “Immersive experience. Beautiful visuals. Truly a work of art.”

Unfortunately, the company refrained from mentioning any specific details and specifications regarding the upcoming product. Although, the new smart TV is likely to be similar to the Mi TV 4A Horizon Edition, which was launched back in September 2020. This model was launched in two size variants, including a 32 inch and a 43 inch variant. So, we can expect this TV to fill in the size between both models with its 40 inch display.

Both of the previously launched TVs offered more than 90 percent screen to body ratio and sported up to FHS (1920x1080px) resolution. Under the hood, the TVs housed an Amlogic Cortex A53 quad core processor with Mali 450 MP3 GPU paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. These also ran Android Pie and shipped with Xiaomi’s PatchWall. While the pricing of the upcoming Mi TV 4A 40 is unknown, it is expected to be between the 180 to 315 US Dollar price tag that the 32 inch and 43 inch model shipped with, respectively.

Xiaomi has a great presence in the Smart TV segment in India. Accordingly, it recently announced a milestone of selling 5 million Smart TVs in the country. Weeks later, it has now hiked the prizes of its 4A, 4A Pro, and Horizon Edition Mi TVs permanently in India. All these Smart TV models have been selling for quite a while in the country. The new hike starts as low as ₹500($6.8) for the base(32-inch) model.

As reported by 91mobiles, the prices of Mi TV 4A(40-inch), 4A Pro(32-inch), Mi TV Horizon Edition(32, 43-inch) series have been hiked in India. Further, the report adds that the new prices will have an effect across all the offline retail stores in the country starting December 1. You can take a look at the entire price changes below:

Besides, looking at the table, it looks like the Mi TV 4A Pro and Horizon edition get a ₹500($6.8) hike but the Mi TV 4A 40-inch gets a ₹1,000($13.6) price hike. Subsequently, the new prices have also been updated on mi.com. Still, the company has many online offers like No Cost EMI, Mi TV Extended warranty at reduced price(varies between ₹399-₹699 according to the model).

Mi TV 4A, 4A Pro, Horizon Edition Features

However, we aren’t sure if the same offers would be available at all retail stores. Anyway,  among the models, the Mi TV 4A(40-inch) launched back in September 2019 while the Mi TV 4A Pro made its debut in Feb 2019. While both are Android 9.0 TVs and come with 20W speakers, 4A Pro has an HD display(1366×768 pixels) but 4A(40-inch) has Full HD(1920×1080 pixels) resolution.

The Horizon Edition, on the other hand, launched as successors to the 4A Pro(32), 4A Pro(43) series of TVs in 32-inch, and 43-inches. However, apart from a slimmer bezel and a few design changes, they have the same features as the 4A series.

Xiaomi sells a number of products in India including a range of smart TVs. After turning the smartphone market upside down, the Chinese tech company also revolutionized the smart TV market in the country by introducing its lineup of smart Mi LED TVs in March 2018. Since then, the company has launched multiple models and has even improved its content aggregation launcher called PatchWall, which is now receiving its v3.0 update with Disney+ Hotstar integration and much more.

Earlier in September 2019, Xiaomi introduced PatchWall 2.0 UI when it launched the new range of 4K TVs in India. The new update brought content integration from Amazon Prime Video and even Netflix made its way to a plethora of Mi TVs excluding the first three models, which launched with an AOSP build of Android TV-certified OS.

Fast forward six months, the company is now rolling out Patchwall 3.0 update to all of its smart TVs running Android tvs such as Mi TV 4A, Mi TV 4C Pro, Mi TV 4A Pro, Mi TV 4 Pro, Mi TV 4X, and Mi TV 4X Pro. Anyway, do note that the new update will not pop-up right away as it is being seeded out in a phased manner. 

The new features of Patchwall 3.0 include Disney+ Hotstar integration with a dedicated page for Sports and Disney content. Further, the update also adds two new content partners namely Docubay and Lattu Kids. Other changes include Mi Lanting Pro font from MIUI 11, horizontal scrolling in lists, cleaner animations, and more.

The Xiaomi Mi Fan Festival is here, and the company is already announcing various new products as we speak. Among the new launches are two new smart TV’s which include the Xiaomi 75 inch Full-Screen TV Pro and a new 60 inch model for the Mi TV 4A.

Xiaomi Full Screen TV Pro 75 inch

The Chinese tech giant has just launched the largest variant in one of its TV family. The Xiaomi Full Screen TV Pro 75 inch has been announced and will be placed right above its 43 inch, 55 inch and 65-inch variants that were launched last year, in September 2019. These are one of the company’s premium lineup of TV’s and feature an aluminum alloy for its design and build.

Xiaomi Full Screen TV Pro 75 inch features extremely narrow bezels on every side, which also provides them with an impressive screen to body ratio of 97 percent. However, the top bezel also carries the ‘Mi’ brand logo and is a bit thicker than the other three sides. The middle frame of the 75 inch TV is made out of Aluminium alongside a metal base plate.

The Xiaomi Full Screen TV Pro 75 inch features a quad-core 64-bit processor that has a clock speed of 1.9GHz. This is a custom-built 12nm FinFET process chipset which makes them highly power-efficient, according to the company. Alongside the processor, 2GB of RAM is housed along with built-in storage of 32GB. The TV also runs the PatchWall operating system and is shipped with several video streaming services pre-installed, like Tencent Video, Youku and VOD from iQiyi.

A few other notable features include, Dolby Audio, XiaoAi assistant, voice commands and option to connect with IoT devices, to both control them and display their status. The display of the Xiaomi Full Screen TV Pro 75 inch is a 4K panel while the chipset is capable of natively supporting 8K content as well. It will be sold for a price of 5,999 Yuan or roughly 846 US Dollars.

Mi TV 4A 60 inch

Xiaomi has also launched a new variant for its pre-existing Mi TV 4A model. This version is a 60-inch model and will fit right between the other smaller and larger iterations of the same. It features a 4K LCD display and also sports relatively thin bezels on every side of the display.

Being a smart TV, it features XiaoAI built-in voice assistant on the PatchWall OS. So, one can stream videos, movies and more if connected to the internet. Under the hood, a 64-bit amlogic processor can be found alongside 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. It also houses the basics like HDMI ports, USB ports, AV input and offers  Dolby Audio and DTS-HD as well.

The new Mi TV 4A 60-inch is priced at 1,999 Yuan (or roughly 281 US Dollars). Interestingly, the slightly outdated Mi TV 4A 58-inches is priced at a lower 1,599 Yuan (or roughly 225 US Dollars), so that might be a viable option for those looking under a particular budget.

People who have been keeping up with the Mi TV 4A series should know that this update has been in the works for quite a while now. Initially, the update was supposed to roll out sometime in early 2019, but the company was hit with some unexpected roadblocks causing the update to be delayed. It’s great that it’s finally here however.

The update will be rolled out in phases, so don’t worry if you’re a Mi TV 4A owner and still haven’t received it yet. It will probably arrive on your device in a few days. Xiaomi has been in the TV business for a couple of years now. Redmi, its subsidiary, announced its first TV last month – a behemoth 70-inch TV. Today, Xiaomi has also announced a 70-inch model for its Mi TV 4A series.

The new Mi TV 4A 70” has a 4K LCD display with thin bezels and a slim body that makes it appear like its a giant painting when you hang it on the wall.

It has Xiaomi’s XiaoAI assistant built-in which means you will be able to ask it to search and play movies and shows or use it to control smart home devices connected to the same network and account. It also has Xiaomi’s PatchWall system.

The TV has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a 64-bit Amlogic processor. It has 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, AV input, and an S/PDIF audio port. There is Dolby Audio and dts-HD too.

The Mi TV 4A 70” is priced at ¥3999 (~$564) and will go on sale tomorrow on the official Xiaomi online store, Jingdong, Tmall, Suning and at Mi Home stores.

In addition to the new 70” size, the Mi TV 4A line is also available in 32”, 43”, 50”, 55”, 58”, and 65” sizes.

Xiaomi India has just announced four new Mi TV models in India at the company’s Smarter Living 2020 event. Three of these represent Xiaomi’s new and premium line of smart TVs, and Xiaomi’s calling them the Mi TV 4X line. They feature the best specs on any Xiaomi Mi TV yet. The other fresh launch is the more budget oriented Mi TV 4A, which has a bigger focus on being affordable ala previous Xiaomi Mi TVs.

Mi TV 4X 65-inch, 50-inch and 43-inch

The Mi TV 4X series of TVs all come with ultra-slim 11mm bezels and an aluminium finish on their chassis. They’re equipped with the Vivid Picture Engine – a technology that Xiaomi has built to choose the “perfect” brightness, contrast, saturation, and other display parameters to provide what they deem as the “ultimate viewing experience”. The display can produce up to 88 per cent of NTSC colour gamut according to Xiaomi.

There’s also the brand new ‘Reality Flow Chip’, which upscales the standard 24fps content to 60fps with up to 8 million pixels. The 65-inch 4K display supports HDR, as do the smaller Mi TV 4Xs. Xiaomi’s flagship TV comes with two tweeters and two woofers, powered by DTS and Dolby Audio. Xiaomi says it supports Dolby audio content from major streaming partners.

Another highlight of the new Mi TVs is PatchWall, which integrates content from all major streaming apps, live TV feed, and other input sources, providing up to 700000 hours of content! “There is always something for everyone to watch” said Sudeep Sahu, product manager for Mi TV, while also announcing a new interface for PatchWall UI.

The new PatchWall 2.0 UI is based on Android 9 Pie, with support for Chromecast. Xiaomi is also introducing Data Saver feature with the Mi TV range, which will help users who connect their TVs to mobile data to stream content at the expense of quality. Perhaps the biggest news regarding Patchwall however is that Netflix and Amazon Prime Video are joining Xiaomi’s TV app catalogue among other apps.

When it comes to tech specs, the Mi 4X TVs are all powered by the same quad-core Cortex A55 processor and support Bluetooth v5.0 and Wi-Fi. The Mi TV 4X 65-inch costs Rs 54,999, which puts it at roughly $766. The middle of the road 50-inch variant comes in at Rs 29,999, about $418, and the 43-inch model goes for Rs 24,999, or $349.

Mi TV 4A

Alongside the Mi TV 4X series, Xiaomi also launched the cheaper Mi TV 4A 40-inch in India today. The Mi TV 4A 40-inch comes with Full HD display unlike the other three Mi TV launched in India today, though most of the other features on the device are in-line with the higher end Mi TV 4X series.

The Mi TV 4A still comes with support for Xiaomi’s PatchWall 2.0, allowing it access to the plethora of programs available. As expected, this also means that the Mi TV 4A comes with Android 9.0 out-of-the-box. The Mi TV 4A even gets the same 20W speakers Dolby+ DTS-HD audio deal out of this. Really, the only thing it seems to lack is the 4K resolution.

The Mi TV 4A launches in India with a price of Rs 17,999, or about $250. Alongside all the other Mi TVs launched today, the Mi TV 4A will go on sale in India on September 29 midnight across various retail platforms including Mi.com and MiHome stores. Xiaomi also announced a new Black coloured version of the Mi Soundbar and it can now be controlled via a dedicated remote for Rs. 4,999 ($70).

Xiaomi has been selling 43-inch and 55-inch Mi TV 4S in China. Very soon the Chinese firm will be launching a larger 65-inch Mi TV 4S in the home market. It is expected to support 4K UHD resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels along with HDR. It is expected to arrive in color choices like Gunmetal Gray and Champagne Gold. Besides 65-inch Mi TV 4S, the Chinese firm will be also debuting other TVs such as 58-inch Mi TV 4A, 43-inch Mi TV 4X and 40-inch Mi TV 4C.

A new 15.6-inch Mi Notebook is expected to land in China soon. As of this writing, there is no information on its specifications. At the end of August, Xiaomi had released a new 15.6-inch Mi Notebook powered with 8^th generation Intel processor. Hence, it is not clear as to what to expect form the upcoming 15.6-inch Mi Notebook. Lastly, the company is also expected to release Home Walkie Talkie 1S. Again, there is no information available on the features of the upcoming walkie talkie device.

There is no confirmation on the exact launch date for the aforementioned devices. Probably, the above products are slated to go official this month. Xiaomi TV official Weibo handle has released a new poster which hints at an event coming up on August 28. The event is tagged “Xiaomi TV strategy conference” and the company is expected to announce a couple of new products during the event which is just hours away. However, it is unclear what the company has to offer but there is the possibility of a new Xiaomi TV dropping on that day.

The Mi brand has a long line of TV models to its name. There is the flagship Mi TV 4 series and the less expensive Mi TV 4C, Mi TV 4S and 4A series. The brand released the Mi TV 4A 50-inch model earlier this year with a recommended retail price of 2199 yuan which has dropped to 1799 yuan since the middle of this month. This model is the sixth in the Mi TV 4A series which also has 32-inch, 43-inch, 49-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch models. The company also launched its largest TV yet, the Mi TV 4 (75 inches) about three months back. There have also been releases within this year from the Mi TV 4C, 4S and 4X series.

The 32-inch model of the Mi TV 4A is priced at Rs. 13,999 ($201) while the 43-inch model costs Rs. 22,999 ($330). Along with the standard 1-year warranty, the company is also offering an additional 1-year warranty on the display panel.

Further, Flipkart is also offering up to Rs. 4,000 discount through exchange on the 32-inch model and up to Rs. 6,000 off on the 43-inch model. The eCommerce platform is also offering discounts on select credit cards along with a free limited-period subscription to several online media platforms and data benefits.

The Mi TV 4A series is powered by 64-bit Amlogic T962 quad-core processor and 1GB RAM. The internal storage available on both models is 8GB.  The 32-inch device has 2 USB ports, 3 HDMI ports whereas the 43-inch model come with 3 USB ports, 3 HDMI ports, and an S/PDIF port. Both have an AV port, Ethernet port, Wi-Fi Connectivity and 3.5mm audio jack.

For an immersive audio experience, the Mi TV 4A series are equipped with DTS-HD and powerful 20W dome speaker. Both the TVs come with 11-button Mi remote which provides access to the contents from set-top box and online internet partners.

Similar to the Mi TV 4, the Mi TV 4A series also comes equipped with PatchWall OS that offers intuitive user interface and easy access to more than 500,000+ hours of content. It also recommends online and offline content depending on the users’ TV-watching behavior.

Today, Xiaomi will be selling its popular Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphone in India along with Mi TV 4 and Mi TV 4A through flash sale at 12 PM. The products will be available for purchase through online retailer Flipkart as well as Mi.com, the company’s official online store in India.

Along with the flash sale of Redmi Note 5 Pro and Mi TV, the company will also make available Redmi 5A for pre-order sales on Mi.com. In the pre-order sale, buyers will have to make the full payment of the smartphone online and then the device will get shipped within 5 days of placing the order.

As for the pricing, the Redmi Note 5 Pro starts at Rs. 14,999 for the 4GB RAM model while the 6GB RAM model costs Rs. 16,999. The Xiaomi Mi TV 32-inch model is priced at Rs. 13,999 while the 43-inch Full HD model costs Rs. 22,999. The Mi TV with a 55-inch 4K display is priced at Rs. 44,999. On the other hand, the Redmi 5A smartphone will cost Rs. 5,999 for the 2GB RAM model and Rs. 6,999 for the 3GB RAM variant.

It’s disappointing that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, which was launched in India a few months ago, is still available through flash sales and not through the regular sale. The phone features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor along with Adreno 509 GPU.

It packs 4GB/6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage and has a hybrid SIM card slot which also supports microSD card. Coming to the camera department, it features a dual rear camera setup on the back, consisting of a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front side, there’s a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor. Running on MIUI based on Android, the phone is powered by a 4000mAh battery.

As for the Redmi 5A, the smartphone features a 5-inch HD display and is powered by Snapdragon 425 processor along with 2GB/3GB RAM. The 2GB RAM model packs 16GB internal storage while the 3GB RAM model comes with 32GB internal storage.

In the camera department, the Redmi 5A sports a 13-megapixel rear sensor and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies. Running on company’s own MIUI based on Android, the device is powered by a 3000mAh battery.

The Mi TV 4’s 55-inch model comes with 4K LED display with 3840 x 2160 pixels resolution and HDR, and measures just 4.9mm in thickness. It offers 178-degrees viewing angle and has a response time of 8ms. It is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Amlogic Cortex-A53 SoC clocked up to 1.8GHz, coupled with Mali-T830 graphics.

It packs 2GB RAM and 8GB internal storage and features Dolby+DTS Cinema Audio, with two 8W duct inverted speakers, as well as Xiaomi’s AI-powered PatchWall UI that offers personalized recommendations and universal search.

Earlier this year, China-based Xiaomi had launched Mi TV 4A as a new series in the company’s lineup of smart TVs. Now, a 50-inch model of the Mi TV 4A has received a discount of 200 Yuan (approximately $31) as a part of the company’s “Mother’s Day” special event.

With this special discount, the 50-inch model will be available at a price of 1,999 Yuan (approximately $314), which is 200 Yuan less than the product’s original price of 2199 Yuan, which roughly converts to $346.

The Mi TV 4A 50-inch display variant features an ultra-narrow frame. The smart TV comes with 4K UHD display supporting screen resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and a 60Hz refresh rate with support for HDR10+ HLG.

For the immersive audio experience, ti also comes with stereo speakers that has support for Dolby Audio and dtsHD. It comes with 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, AV input, an ethernet port, and a S/PDIF audio output port.

It is powered by an Amlogic L962 quad-core processor, clocked at 1.5GHz, coupled with Mali-450 graphics processor. It comes equipped with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of built-in storage. The TV features Xiaomi’s PatchWall artificial intelligence-based smart interface that provides an endless amount of content that cuts across various genres for all ages.

The TV remote also supports voice input, allowing users to search for their favorite shows, control playback, ask questions, and even control other Xiaomi smart products connected to the same network as the TV. The Mi TV 4A 50-inch model also supports Bluetooth 4.2 LE for connecting additional hardware such as a mouse or keyboard.

Because of the newly introduced changes in the import taxes for PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) as well as the depreciation of the Indian rupee from the start of 2018, Xiaomi has increased the prices of Redmi Note 5 Pro and 55-inch Mi TV 4. The new prices will come into effect starting from May 1 across Mi.com, Mi Store app, Mi Home outlets, Flipkart and offline retailers.

Xiaomi has only spiked the price of 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM edition of the Redmi Note 5 Pro. It has been selling with a price tag of Rs. 13,999 (~$210). However, beginning from tomorrow, it will be available for buying for Rs. 14,999 (~$225). The 64 GB storage + 6 GB RAM variant of the Redmi Note 5 Pro will continue to sell for Rs. 16,999 (~$255).

The Mi TV 4 (55-inch) was introduced in February with a pricing of Rs. 39,999 (~$601). Starting from tomorrow, it will be selling for Rs. 44,999 (~$676) after a price spike of Rs. 5,000 (~$75). There is no change in the pricing of the other smart TVs from the company. The Mi TV 4A 43-inch and 32-inch are respectively available for Rs. 22,999 (~$346) and Rs. 13,999 (~$210).

The Redmi Note 5, Note 5 Pro and 55-inch Mi TV 4 that were launched in India in February this year have met with overwhelming sales. According Xiaomi’s Global VP and Managing Director for India, the company has been importing a significant amount of PCBAs for Note 5 Pro and Mi TV4 in to order to ramp up their supply. By increasing the manufacturing capacity, the company aims to stock up monthly volume of one million units of Redmi Note 5 Pro. He added that the company has increased the pricing of these two devices as the Indian government has increased the import tax on PCBAs by 10 percent and at the same time Indian rupee has depreciated by around 5 percent.

Xiaomi has already starting manufacturing various components including PCBAs in India. It is manufacturing PCBAs in collaboration with Taiwan-based Foxconn at the units in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. Jain claimed that the company is aiming to ramp up its production completely by the third quarter of this year. Hence, it seems that there is a hope that the company may reduce the price of these devices by the end of this year.

Xiaomi launched two new Smart TV models last week. The Mi TV 4C came with a 50 inches display and is priced at 2,199 Yuan ($350) while the Mi TV 4S has a 55-inch display and is priced at 2,999 Yuan ($477). Both models are billed to go on sale this week, precisely on April 3. At the same time, Xiaomi has reduced the prices of its older TV models as well as its Mi Notebook laptop models.

Among the models to get a price reduction is the Mi TV 4A 43-inch model as well as the 50-inch and 64-inch models.  All three will be available to buy in limited numbers for 1599 Yuan ($254), 1,999 Yuan ($317) and 3,999 Yuan ($636) respectively with the highest discount being up to 1000 Yuan. The Mi TV 4A 32 inches will also get a 200 Yuan price cut and will sell for 999 Yuan ($158). The Mi TV 4A 40 inches also gets 200 yuan off and will sell for 1499 yuan ($238). The Mi TV 4A 49 inches takes a 500 yuan price cut and is priced at 1899 yuan ($302) while the 55-inch version gets 400 yuan off, to sell for 2599 yuan ($413).

In addition, the Mi Notebook series like the 12.5-inch Mi Notebook M3 128GB storage version gets a 300 yuan discount and will sell for 3299 yuan ($524) only on April 3. The Mi Notebook 13.3-inch with Core i5 will sell for 4,999 Yuan ($795) (400 Yuan off) while the Core i7 version will retail for 5699 Yuan ($906) (300 Yuan off).  The Mi Notebook 15.6-inch Core i5 version gets a 300 yuan discount and will sell for 5,299 yuan ($842).

Xiaomi first announced a new 32 inches version of its Mi TV 4A in July 2017 and the Smart TV was the cheapest in the company TV product line. Eight months down the road, the tech giant has revealed that 1 million units of the Mi TV 4A 32-inch model have been sold during this period.

The Mi TV 4A 32-inch model was launched clutching a 1,099 Yuan price tag (around $163). That price was later reduced further in October last year to 999 Yuan (~$150) with an offer of free shipping within Mainland China. This price reduction may have contributed to the increased sales that have been recorded.

The Xiaomi Mi TV 4A (32 inches) uses a plastic housing with its entire body coming in black colour. As a result of the plastic body in use, the new Mi TV 4A  comes with a highly reduced weight which is just 3.9Kg, making it suitable to be easily carried around. When the base is attached to the TV frame, the weight goes up to 3.94Kg.

Xiaomi has added a new 40 inches model to the Mi TV 4A lineup. The new 40 inches model will likely be a Jingdong exclusive and is already up for reservation on the e-commerce platform. With this new version, the Xiaomi Mi TV 4A is now available in 32, 40, 43, 49, 55 and 65 inches. Most of all, this version comes with a cheaper price tag and an added feature which is voice control.

The Mi TV 4A 40 inches features a display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels just like the 43-inch and 49-inch models. The display uses direct type backlight and has a viewing angle of 178 degrees, dynamic response of 8ms, a static contrast ratio of 5000: 1, and a refresh rate of 60Hz.

The new model equally packs a quad-core 64-bit high-performance Amlogic T962 processor clocked at 1.5GHz while the graphic is powered by a Mali 450 750MHz GPU. The processor paired with just 1GB of DDR4 RAM. The device also offers jus 8GB eMMC5.1 flash memory on this version.  It should be noted that the RAM and storage size of this model is lower than those of the other Mi TV 4A models but that also makes the price tag cheaper.

In addition, the Mi TV 4A comes with support for HDR10 and the latest UHD HLG while also supporting the Dolby Vision format. The Smart TV also sports a dual-band WiFi connection, PatchWall OS as well as Bluetooth 4.2. The Bluetooth connectivity allows the TV to connect with accessories such as Bluetooth mouse, speakers, keyboard, gaming pad and others. The Mi TV 4A come with Artificial Intelligence voice control which allows its users to switch to a particular TV program with voice command, activated via the remote control.

On Feb. 14, Xiaomi had launched its TV – the 55-inch Mi TV 4 in India. It met with an amazing response by the Indian audience as it was sold out in less than 10 seconds in its first sale. Last year, Xiaomi had launched the Mi TV 4 in China in multiple options like 49-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch. However, the company had released only the 55-inch model in India. In July, Xiaomi had launched 32-inch Mi TV 4A with a pricing of 1,099 Yuan (~$175, Rs. 11,300). Its priced was slashed to 999 Yuan (`$157, ~Rs. 10,200) few months ago. The 50-inch Mi TV 4A was unveiled with a pricing of 2,399 Yuan (~$378, ~Rs.24,600) this year in January.

Since Xiaomi has hinted that it is going to unveil a new series, it seems that it may debut the Mi TV 4A in India soon. If the company launches, it will certainly disrupt the Indian market with a pricing of around Rs. 20,000.

The Mi TV 4’s Rs. 39,999 pricing is around 25 times cheaper than a smart TV from Samsung in India. Moreover, it is even lower than TVs from Sanyo, Vu and CloudWalker that are selling with affordable pricing in the country. Apart from low pricing, Xiaomi is luring customers with free content of around 500 hours per month across different languages.

The Mi TV could have entered India around three years ago. However, since the company was busy striking deals with content providers, it took long for Mi TV to arrive in India, said Chuang Wang, the co-founder of Xiaomi and global head of Mi TV division with Xiaomi.
