Microsoft Surface Duo range is a unique take on the foldable phone, with a book-like physical factor and two distinct screens instead of one folding display. However, these devices were initially quite pricey, starting at $1400.

A mid-range Surface Duo tablet that has been discontinued is now listed on eBay, according to Windows Central. The outlet was nevertheless able to save a few pictures even though the item had already been sold and the listing had been taken down.

According to the source, the tablet, code-named Cronos, was slated to be on sale later this year as a less expensive alternative to the Surface Duo 2. This means flat screens without the look bar, a plastic body, a twin camera configuration, and an upper mid-range Snapdragon processor. A precise price range wasn’t mentioned, so it’s unknown if the less expensive Surface Duo would have provided a 90Hz refresh rate like its more expensive stablemate.

The device was abandoned in late 2021 so that Microsoft could concentrate on the following high-end Surface Duo (presumably the Surface Duo 3). The launch of this main product is supposedly planned for the following year.

We haven’t yet seen a mid-range Surface Duo device, which might be a good thing. Microsoft’s initial Surface Duo was a shoddy mess when it first came out, and the Surface Duo 2 had a similar rollout. What are the chances that a third Surface Duo model will again be released with a number of problems? Even still, a more affordable gadget would increase the accessibility of Microsoft’s dual-screen devices.
