At its annual hardware event held last month, Microsoft announced a host of Surface devices. Now the Redmondo-based company has brought the Surface Laptop Go 3 to the Indian market. It arrives as the successor to last year’s Surface Laptop Go 2. The Surface Laptop Go is the lightest and most portable Surface offering from the company. Read on to know more about the latest edition below.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 has a 12.4-inch display bearing a resolution of 1,536 x 1,024 pixels. It offers touchscreen functionality along with 330 nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass protection. On the audio front, the laptop is equipped with Omnisonic speakers with Dolby Audio premium and dual far-field studio mics. There is a 720p front-facing camera. The Surface Laptop Go 3 features a fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button with Windows Hello authentication.

Under the hood, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 is equipped with a 12th generation Intel Core i5 processor paired with Intel Iris Xe GPU onboard. It packs up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB SSD. The device is powered by a 40Wh battery cell that is claimed to offer 15 hours of usage. Software-wise, it runs on Windows 11 OS with the company’s AI companion called Microsoft Copilot.

Connectivity options on the Surface Laptop Go 3 include a USB-C port, USB-A port, 3.5mm jack, WiFi-6, Bluetooth 5.1, and a Surface Connect port.

Under the Surface Laptop Go 3 series, the pricing for various configurations is as follows:

Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD: Priced at Rs. 98,562 for the Surface for Business, and Rs. 80,999 for the Surface for Consumer.
Intel Core i5, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD: Priced at Rs. 117,817 for the Surface for Business, and Rs. 1,00,999 for the Surface for Consumer.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 comes in platinum color only. The laptop is available for pre-orders starting today with sales commencing November 9 from Reliance Digital, Croma, Amazon, and Vijay Sales. Microsoft Surface Pro 8 and Surface Go 3 LTE models now available for purchase

Microsoft has been trying to establish itself in the hardware segment and has a lineup of devices under its Surface branding. It had recently launched the Surface Pro 8 and the Surface Go 3, both of which are getting new variants.

The Redmond-based technology giant has launched LTE-enabled models of the Surface Pro 8 and the Surface Go 3 devices in the United States, which are now available for purchase.

Prior to the launch of these LTE-enabled models, the devices were available in Wi-Fi-only variants. The launch of the new models comes along with the availability of a Matte Black color option for the Surface Pro 8.

The newly launched models can be purchased directly thorugh the Microsoft Store. The Surface Pro 8 can be ordered in both Intel Core i5 as well as Core i7 models but it seems to be available in only the Platinum color option.

Currently, only the Business edition model seems to be available with LTE support and it’s not yet clear if the consumer-focused version will get support for this additional connectivity feature or not.

As for the pricing, the LTE-enabled Microsoft Surface 8 Pro starts at $1,350 with the base configuration of an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, and 128GB internal storage. On the other hand, the Surface Go 3 with LTE support, having Intel Core i3 processor, 8GB RAM, and 128GB SSD storage costs $730.

Microsoft launches Surface go 3 in new Matte Black color

Microsoft has just launched its Surface Go 3 in a new color variant. The company’s latest budget tablet will be available in a Matte Black model and is currently on sale in Europe.

According to an XDADevelopers report, the news regarding the Matte Black Surface Go 3 was first shared by Aggiornamenti Lumia on Twitter. The tweet shared images of the upcoming variant in various angles as well. For those unaware, the Surface Go 3 was first launched back in October 2021 and arrived with Windows 11. Initially, it was only available in the Platinum color live other Surface products, but similar to the Surface Pro 8, Microsoft has released it in a new color model.

Notably, while the Matte Black version was expected to launch sometime soon, Amazon listings in European regions like Germany revealed its official launch date, which is today (11th January 2021). Furthermore, even the official Microsoft Store have listed the new color model as well. This is a notable shift considering the Surface Go series has traditionally only been available in the signature Platinum color.

Looking at the Matte Black variant, there are no difference compared to the regular model apart from its color scheme. Although, the device does seem quite formal in this version. Previously, users could only customize the Type Cover and the Surface Pen in a few different color options. So this new variant adds a bit more variety to the mix.

Microsoft Surface Go 3 launches in India starting at Rs. 42,999 (~$579)

Microsoft‘s latest Surface Go 3 laptop which also doubles as a tablet has been unveiled for the Indian market. The gadget arrives with a starting price of Rs. 42,999 ($579). This is coming nearly two months after the two-in-one laptop was released for the global audience.

The Surface Go 3 is a lightweight device (net weight is about 544g) with a 10.5-inch PixelSense touchscreen that has a 3.2 aspect ratio. The adjustable kickstand enables the laptop to be used in multiple scenarios. It offers up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage.

The 10th Gen Intel Core processors that are used in the Surface Go 3 are either the Dual-Core Intel Pentium Gold 6500Y or a Dual-Core Intel Core i310100Y together with the Intel UHD Graphics 615. There are several other impressive features in the Surface Go 3 like a 50MP front camera and battery life of up to 11 hours.

The Microsoft Surface Go 3 has a surface pen, runs Windows11 in Home and S mode. The Surface Go 3 supports Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 6 technology. The laptop has several variants in terms of processor, RAM, and storage, the lowest-priced model is Rs. 42,999 ($579) while the highest-priced model is Rs. 62,999 ($848). The surface pen is sold separately but could be gotten for free when pre-ordered from Amazon India during the pre-order period.

HP launches an 11-inch tablet with a 13MP flipping camera, stylus pen & more!

PC maker HP has announced the release of a new 11-inch tablet that can function as a laptop via its keyboard accessory and also features a flipping webcam. The new tablet will go on sale from December 11 and starts from $499. This comes after the brand unveiled the Envy 34-inch All-In-One Desktop PC.

The Microsoft Surface Go tablet is the closest product that bears some semblance with the new HP tablet. It could thus be a direct competitor of the new HP tablet. The announcement by HP also indicated that the new tablet has a 13MP rear camera which can be moved either vertically or horizontally and can be flipped 180 degrees to operate as a webcam.

The manufacturer is claiming that the new tablet which features a rear-facing camera that can be flipped around the short edge of the tablet’s display to function as a webcam is the first time a tablet will sport such a feature. This is in addition to also offering the highest resolution for such a front-facing camera when it is used as a webcam.

The new HP 11-inch tablet can be operated with its keyboard accessory both in portrait and landscape mode. This provides greater versatility for the webcam. The new tablet is also compatible with HP’s Tilt Pen which further enhances the functionality of the tablet. The keyboard and Tilt Pen accessories offer some innovation to the device. There is also a USB-C port for connecting more accessories and charging the tablet. The fingerprint reader is built into the power button on the tablet.

The new HP 11-inch tablet is powered by an Intel Pentium Silver N600 processor, it runs on Windows 11 S mode. The tablet offers 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage available for the tablet. While the tablet itself will be sold at $499, the additional keyboard accessory could cost up to $100, thus bringing the projected price of the new tablet to $599. As we get closer to the launch date, more details will surface on the product.

Microsoft Surface Go 3, Surface Slim Pen 2 & Ocean Plastic Mouse Official

Microsoft first launched the Surface Go laptop as a decent and its most affordable PC ever in 2018 and the device enjoyed a massive reception. This spurred the company to release the Surface Go 2. The second-gen model turned out to be one of the best cheap laptops you’ll find around but then, the US tech giant has now updated the series with the unveiling of the Microsoft Surface Go 3.

In terms of the design, the Surface Go 3 isn’t very different from its predecessor. However, Microsoft crammed new gen Intel processors under the hood. The device is powered by the Intel Pentium GOLD 6500Y and Intel Core i3-10100Y processors. The upgraded chips are said to bring an improvement in performance by up to 60 percent over the predecessor.

The Surface Go 3’s processors are backed by 4GB or 8GB of RAM respectively. The laptop also comes with 64GB of eMMC memory but there will be up to 256GB SSDs on the Commercial Channels. It comes with a USB-C port, Surface Connect, 3.5mm audio, a microSD card reader, and a Nano-SIM slot (on the LTE models).

The device runs Windows 11, and the camera supports Windows Hello facial recognition. The Surface Go 3 starts at $399 for the base model.

Microsoft Surface Slim Pen 2

Microsoft also unveiled an all-new Surface Slim Pen 2 which is a worthy upgrade over the Slim Pen. This model magnetically fits into the Surface Pro 8’s keyboard and features better haptics. The haptic functionality is included to make writing and drawing feel more realistic. Microsoft says that it’s extending the haptic tech to work in several apps, and it showcased the stylus being used in Adobe Photoshop. The artist on display claimed that its sharper tip makes it easier to use and more responsive. The Slim Pen 2 is powered by a custom Microsoft G6 chip and can work with all the products the company unveiled today, including the Surface Pro 8, the Surface Go 3, the Pro X, and the Surface Duo 2 via its pen cover.

The Surface Slim Pen 2 is available for pre-order today for $129.99 in the US.

Microsoft Ocean Plastic Mouse

Also launched today is the Microsoft Ocean Plastic Mouse. Just as the name implied, the new Microsoft mouse is a product of the company’s recycling and sustainability drive. The mouse’s shell is made of 20 percent recycled ocean plastic and packaging that is 100 percent recyclable.

Microsoft had pledged in August last year to pursue a goal of zero-waste operations by 2030 and put an end to the use of single-use plastics in packaging by 2025. The company is on course as the mouse’s packaging box is entirely recyclable. Microsoft also mentions a free mail-in program so people can send their old mice for recycling.

Surface Pro 8 leaks ahead of launch: To feature 120Hz display and 2 Thunderbolt ports

Days ahead of the September 22 Surface hardware event by Microsoft, some major highlights of Surface Pro 8 have been leaked. From what it appears, this could be a retail listing and is highly likely to be the Surface Pro 8. The tweet that leaked this confirms that there will be a 13-inch 120Hz display with thin bezels and two thunderbolt ports.

It was already being speculated that Surface Pro 8 could ship without USB-A ports, and if these leaks were to be believed, we will see a USB-C and Thunderbolt combination on the device, enhancing the versatility of the device.

The leak further goes on to reveal that the device will have Windows 11 running, which shouldn’t come as a surprise. There is also going to be replaceable SSDs like it was on Surface Laptop 4, Surface Pro X, and Surface Pro 7 Plus, allowing more flexibility to replace drives whenever required.

In the Surface hardware scheduled for September 22nd, we are expecting Microsoft to unveil the Surface Pro 8, Surface Go 3, Surface Book 4, an updated Surface Pro X, and the Android-powered Surface Duo 2.

Microsoft Surface Go 3 to come with Intel Pentium Gold and i3 processor : Report

Microsoft is all set for its September 22 event, where it is expected to unveil a bunch of Surface devices, including Surface Duo 2. However, Microsoft would also be announcing a few Surface PC products, including Surface Go 3, which has been doing the rounds of the internet quite lately.

Earlier this week, the Surface Go 3 was spotted on Geekbench, revealing some of the key specifications of Microsoft’s upcoming convertible PC. Now a recent report from WinFuture has shed some more light on the specifications of the upcoming PC. As per the report, the Surface Go 3 would feature a 10.5-inch display with FHD resolution. Further, Microsoft is suggested to stick with its previous design to make Surface Go products a compact tablet device for mobile use. The upcoming Surface Go device would be encased inside magnesium alloy with a fold-out stand.

The next-generation Surface Go would be coming in two models – one with an Intel Pentium Gold 6500Y processor paired with 4GB of RAM and an Intel Core i3-10100Y model with 8GB of RAM. The Surface Go 3 would be completely fanless, and it won’t be having any moving parts inside the chassis.

In Geekbench results, the Intel Pentium Gold 6500Y performs 62 per cent higher than Go 2’s Pentium Gold 4425Y, while there’s a 48 per cent improvement in multi-core performance. Meanwhile, the Intel Core i3-10100Y version shows a 4 per cent increase in single-core performance and 11 per cent improvement in multi-core tests. The new i3-10100Y belongs to energy-saving processors of the Amber Lake Y series.

There’s not much known about Microsoft’s upcoming Surface Go 3 laptops. But, we are still a few weeks away from the official launch, and the rumour mill won’t stop churning until then. So, we might get some more information before its official unveiling on September 22.

Microsoft Surface Go 3 appears on Geekbench packing some impressive specs

A current Geekbench listing of the Microsoft Surface Go 3 has revealed an impressive array of new features that are now primed for an imminent release, going by the listing on the Geekbench platform. The new benchmark scores for the Surface Go 3 however indicated that there could be up to two versions of the Microsoft Surface Go 3, going by the Geekbench details.

One of the models is powered by an Intel Pentium Gold with 4GB of RAM, while the other model will be powered by Intel Core i3 which has 8GB of RAM. This follows the pattern of the predecessors of the devices, as the two models sport the Pentium Gold and Intel Core options for their CPUs.

The performance of the two models on the single-core and multi-core scores show that both models pack some decent power in them. The Microsoft Surface Go with a Pentium Gold processor scored 3197 and 5643, respectively, which far eclipsed the performance of the Surface Go 2, hovering around 2, 200 for single-core and 4400 for multi-score.

The Intel Core i3 powered Surface Go model even had a better performance. It clocked 45659 and 7643 for single and multi-core performance, respectively. Much is still left in the realm of speculation concerning the Microsoft Surface Go 3, as we inch closer to its eventual launch. There are other devices lined up for unveiling by Microsoft, and we await the actual rollout of the growing array of unreleased products.
