This processor options will apparently also include both an ARM based and even Intel processors as well.
The new Surface Pro will reportedly start from 128GB model, but will also come in a 256GB, 512Gb, and 1TB storage configuration. Similarly, memory options include 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB of RAM. In other words, the top end 1TB model will be paired with 32GB of RAM. It is believed that the 5G enabled Surface Pro 9 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 chipset, while another variant will use Intel’s latest 12th Gen CPU.

Unfortunately, finer details regarding the Surface Pro 9 is still unknown. However, if it is at all similar to the previous generation. Meaning, same as the Surface Pro 8, it could feature a display around 13 inch that has a 2880 x 1920 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The FCC certification also showcases Qualcomm’s Smart Transmit 3.0, which brings the Snapdragon X70 modem that brings 5G connectivity and improve uplink speeds.

The Microsoft model appears on GeekBench version 5 as ‘OEMSR OEMSR Product Name DV’. The model is believed to be a variant of the Surface Pro X that is yet to be announced. It could also be a test unit for the internal testing of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8cx Plus with higher clock speed. According to reports, Qualcomm is working on “SC8180XP”, which could be officially named Snapdragon 8cx Plus since the current Snapdragon 8cx is informally known as SC8180X.

The unknown Surface Pro device hits GeekBench with 16GB of RAM and the base clock speed is set at 3.15GHz. The higher clock speed results in a significant improvement in the benchmark performance over the Snapdragon 8cx, which was clocked to 2.84GHz. As usual, the GeekBench listing doesn’t offer too many details but Snapdragon’s new processor for Always Connected PCs lineup could possibly make Windows 10 on ARM a viable option for consumers.

The device could even make an appearance earlier than Samsung’s own foldable phone as the U.S company is expected to go official with it later this year. The long-awaited phone was discovered to be codenamed Andromeda while it was revealed that the flexible display will be supplied by LG.

Now, the renders of the device are the latest to feature online via Twitter. The design is created by David Beyer who had earlier shared a video of the render back in December last year. The design is said to be based on the mountain of rumours concerning the device. It is interesting how he could come up with the design considering that the Surface phone rumours have been in existence since 2015 or earlier. But then sifting the latest rumours, information from patents awarded to Microsoft, and patent applications filed by the software giant provided the best possible details of the device to the designer. The phone may likely not look like this but engineering samples produced by Microsoft are said to perfectly resemble Breyer’s renders.

The new renders show the Surface Phone in two different modes -laptop mode and a gaming mode. In the modes, the device shows two different user interfaces, while the top screen shows the display the bottom shows the virtual QWERTY keyboard and in gaming mode, a virtual Xbox controls setup is displayed on the bottom screen. There could also be several other modes.

The design looks awesome and the software also looks promising. Users actually look forward to something like this with a continuous foldable display. This is different from the ZTE Axon M which seems to just have two screens working separately. The Surface Phone is expected to be a foldable device running on a version of Windows 10 which would be called “Andromeda OS”. A set of code discovered in a recent Windows 10 SDK made reference to Andromeda OS. The code shows that the foldable Surface Pro will be powered by an ARM-based processor. There are also rumours of a Snapdragon 845 processor onboard.

This new small-screen 2-in-1 notebook is now available for purchase through online retailers Amazon India and Flipkart as well as through online stores such as Croma, Reliance Digital and Vijay Sales.

The new Surface Pro was first showcased last year in the United States as the successor to the Surface Pro 4 line-up, which is currently retailing at Rs 49,999 in India. The New Surface Pro sports similar design to its predecessor — the back and the spine are encased in aluminum while the Surface Pro Type Cover is made of soft Alcantara material.

The top-end variant, which packs Intel Core i7 processor, is also available in two models — one with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD and another with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD. While the 8GB RAM model costs Rs. 1,33,999, the 16GB RAM model is priced at Rs. 1,82,999. Both the models pack Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 while the remaining models feature Intel HD Graphics 620.

The Surface Pro runs on Microsoft‘s Windows 10 Pro operating system and has support for Office 365. It comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera sensor for video calling.
