Earlier this year, WhatsApp enabled linking the account to a desktop computer. This feature allows users to make and receive calls and send messages without having their smartphone connected to the internet.

Now, the company has launched a native Windows app that no longer uses the old web-based backend and has been updated to run natively on Windows. The new app can be downloaded from the Microsoft App Store.

The native app is more smooth and more optimized compared to the web-based version. The interface has also been redesigned to look cleaner and more consistent with the Windows interface.

Users will still need to link it to a smartphone account that’s linked to a phone number. Once your devices are connected, you can use end-to-end encryption to send and receive messages, make WhatsApp calls, and more. Up to four linked devices can be utilized when your phone is offline, but after 14 days have passed since your last usage of your phone, linked devices will be automatically logged out.

A native macOS software from WhatsApp will also be released, however, it is still in the works. The WhatsApp MacOS software is now in closed beta testing and will be released as a MacOS “Universal app,” which means it will be built on the WhatsApp iPhone app and run natively on Apple silicon laptops.

A new report has revealed interesting information regarding Microsoft Windows 11. The company’s latest operating system has apparently been installed in nearly 20 percent of all Windows PC across the globe.

Notably, this marks a small growth from 16.1 percent share that was recorded back in January 2022. In other words, the American tech giant’s Windows 11 OS has become the third largest in terms of the most used Windows version, following behind two Windows 10 versions (namely 21H2 and 21H1). AdDuplex‘s report arrives from collecting information from over 5,000 applications that use the AdDuplex v2 SDK on the Microsoft Store. Usually, surveys only take around 60,000 PCs as a sample size, which is quite small.

Meaning, this report won’t be completely accurate, although, it does offer a general observation regarding the latest Windows version’s adoption. Furthermore, it is also worth noting that the survey only covers around Windows 10 onward as well, so this data does not account for all of the other Windows OS versions. Looking at the chart shared by AdDuplex, we can see that Windows 11 is currently being used in around 19.3 percent of all Windows PCs.

On the other hand, Windows 10 version 21H2 took the second spot, since it is the update being rolled out for PCs that are not eligible for the Windows 11 due to its minimum requirements. While 20 percent isn’t a large figure, Windows 11 is still a relatively new OS, so we can expect the figure to grow higher in the coming months as well.

Being an iteration that included radical changes, Microsoft announced that Windows 11 will not bring joy to the older PCs. Among the CPUs that were cut off the list are the 6th gen and 7th gen Intel processors. AMD processors were in no good shape either. But that didn’t stop enthusiasts from getting their hands on the next-gen Windows, and they went for it anyway. Previously, Microsoft allowed these older PCs to at least test out the new Windows version. But as we move closer to the stable release date, the process of kicking out unsupported PCs has begun.

Earlier, users who were already in the Dev and Beta channels with unsupported hardware were allowed to stay in the program till the stable version was out. Upon its arrival, they’d have to be turned back to Windows 10 21H2 build. But now, Microsoft has already begun to filter out ineligible devices and prompting them to go back to Windows 10 to keep the update cycle running.

Microsoft continued to air pre-release builds on unsupported CPUs, namely 20H2, 21H1, and 21H2 which eventually became the stepping stones to the big upgrade, apparently letting a big chunk of ineligible devices be part of the Windows 11 program. This explains why the company allowed Insiders and Dev channels to sneak into the new version. With the older PCs testing out the earlier builds, Microsoft used that data to formulate a conclusion that eligible PCs had negligible crashes, at around 0.2%, while ineligible PCs had 52% more crash incidents.

So now, it’s time to move back to where your older PCs belong. For the systems that are being deported back to Windows 10, you may still have a chance to run Windows 11 by installing it via ISO.

According to the renowned analyst, Ming Chi Kuo, the global demand for Microsoft Windows laptops has grown significantly in early 2020 and will surge further all through March and later in 2020. This arrives despite the impacts on various economies and industries due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Through this growth in Windows laptop, it seems that Huawei‘s notebooks will see a sizeable growth as well, as per Ming Chi Kuo’s reports.

Ming Chi Kuo reported that the latest survey showed that shipments of key components of the Windows laptops are expected to grow in the Q2 of 2020. This rise will be about 20 to 30 percent and will even affect Huawei’s notebook offerings. Reportedly, Huawei’s MateBook series may see an exponential growth that could see unit shipments rise by nearly 100 percent or 6 million units around this time.

It seems that the recent viral outbreak is making more companies push the ‘work from home’ policy which will have laptops become an increasingly popular option.  Thus, Huawei’s own PC shipments are expected to rise by 30-40 percent in the Q2 of 2020. This is impressive considering Huawei is still relatively new in the PC market. Back in 2019, Huawei had revealed that its Huawei notebooks sales had grown by 249 percent over 2018.

These numbers reflect notable year on year growth for Huawei’s multiple notebook lineup, including the Matebook, MateBook X/ Pro, MateBook D, E and MateBook 13 and 14 as well. The Chinese tech giants laptop offerings are generally thin and lightweight and offer attractive specs that make them a viable option for a Windows laptop, especially in China due to its lucrative domestic pricing, specs, and features.

Ming Chi Kuo’s report also stated that the new trend of work from home will only help and curb the further spreading of the viral infection and will help normalize things faster. Additionally, the Windows laptop offerings are important productivity took and the shipments in the near future are also likely to prove to be better than the current market expectations.

According to Russian whistleblower, Wzor has been unveiled the WIndows 9 and Windows 10 features, and Windows 10 is saying as the “complete cloud-based operating system.”

Windows 8.1 (update 2) or also known as Windows 8.2
According to Wzor, the upcoming Windows 8.1 update 2 will be released in mid-September this year, this Windows 8.1 update 2 is also called as Windows 8.2, and Windows 8.2 will also bring back the Start button.

Windows 9
In Windows 9 parts of the application system will be upgraded to the next generation of Modern interface, but it is unclear what will evolve into concrete.
