However, one announcement that might&#8217;ve slipped under the radar among all the hype is the upcoming improvement to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Microsoft/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Microsoft</a> &#8220;Your Phone&#8221; app for Samsung smartphones.</p>
<p>At yesterday&#8217;s launch event, Samsung briefly announced the Your Phone app will get a new quality of life feature for Galaxy smartphones which will now show the recent apps used on the smartphone. As we know, Samsung smartphones are the only device other than <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/microsoft-surface-duo/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Microsoft Surface Duo</a> that can open mobile apps onto <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Windows/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Windows</a> using the Your Phone app.</p>
<p>The new functionality will enable users to pick up anything they were doing on their smartphone and continue on their Windows desktop or laptop.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-442682" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Recent-apps-in-Your-Phone-2.jpg?x44794" alt="Recent apps Windows Your Phone" width="960" height="541" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Recent-apps-in-Your-Phone-2.jpg 960w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Recent-apps-in-Your-Phone-2-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Recent-apps-in-Your-Phone-2-768x433.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Recent-apps-in-Your-Phone-2-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Recent-apps-in-Your-Phone-2-745x420.jpg 745w" sizes="(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /></p>
<p>As seen in the image, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Microsoft-Your-Phone/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Your Phone</a> application will appear in the Taskbar of your Windows PC which can be clicked to reveal the list of recently used apps on the phone. Users can also view all apps on the phone from this popup to access and open any apps they want.</p>
<p>As mentioned above, currently Samsung Galaxy smartphones and Microsoft Surface Duo are the only devices that allow users to use the mobile apps on their Windows-powered PC. But if you use a smartphone of any other brand, you won&#8217;t be left out for long as Windows is working on bringing dedicated functionality that will be able to run Android apps on PC. The functionality is said to come to both Windows 10 and Windows 11 and is currently in a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/01/20/google-brings-android-games-to-windows-but-its-in-limited-beta/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">limited beta testing</a> phase.</p>

<p>As reported on the official <a href="https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/all/your-phone-app-apps-feature-multiple-mobile-apps/abc743ed-9a99-4f8a-be58-18311f692ecb?auth=1">website</a>(via <a href="https://www.androidpolice.com/2020/11/06/a-whole-bunch-of-samsung-phones-can-now-stream-multiple-apps-to-windows-pcs/">Android Police</a>), the new feature enables running multiple android apps simultaneously. However, it is currently available only for a few Samsung devices. For PC, the feature is currently available for the Windows Insider community who are in Developer, Beta, or Release Preview channels. The list of Samsung devices with &#8220;Link to Windows Integration&#8221; that supports the Multiple App streaming features is as follows:</p>
<ul>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-note-20-5g/">Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-note20-ultra-5g/">Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-fold2-5g/">Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip">Samsung Galaxy Z Flip</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-5g">Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G</a></li>
</ul>
<p>The update also extends to devices running One UI 3.0 beta currently based on <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-11">Android 11</a> as follows:</p>
<ul>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s20-5g/">Samsung Galaxy S20 5G</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s20-plus-5g/">Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus 5G</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s20-ultra-5g/">Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G</a></li>
</ul>
<p>So multiple-app streaming requires Windows May 2020 update or Later. And a minimum of Android 10. Plus, to enable it, make sure you have the following apps updated to the versions as below:</p>
<ul>
<li>Your Phone on PC- <span class="">1.20102.132.0 or</span> higher.</li>
<li>Your Phone Companion App- <span class="">1.20102.133.0</span> or higher.</li>
<li>Link to Windows Service version- 2.1.05.2 or newer. You can update this <a href="https://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.microsoft.appmanager">here</a>. If you aren&#8217;t signed up for the beta, you can <a href="http://go.androidpolice.com/?id=85009X1537243&amp;isjs=1&amp;jv=14.4.0-stackpath&amp;sref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.androidpolice.com%2F2020%2F11%2F06%2Fa-whole-bunch-of-samsung-phones-can-now-stream-multiple-apps-to-windows-pcs%2F&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fapps.samsung.com%2Fbetastore%2FopenAppDetail.as%3FappId%3Dcom.samsung.android.mdx&amp;xguid=01EK07XZRTX158TXTVAGXA4AW1&amp;xs=1&amp;xtz=-330&amp;xuuid=a18be164fee9ed7d42484855b0898332&amp;abp=1&amp;xjsf=other_click__auxclick%20%5B2%5D">apply</a> for that too.</li>
</ul>
<p>That said, Microsoft says this is an early preview, and hence will gradually roll out to all users. Also, the update has limitations like Sound Sync between PC and Mobile, Mouse Input not recognized by Apps, and more. You can take a look at them below:</p>

                <style type="text/css">

                    }
                    #tdi_1  .td-doubleSlider-2 .td-item2 {

                </style>

<h4><strong>What is Microsoft Your Phone?</strong></h4>
<p>For the unware, Microsoft&#8217;s Your Phone is the company&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/10/03/microsoft-brings-android-mirroring-on-windows-10/">solution to connect Smartphones</a> to the Windows platform. Users running <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/windows-10">Windows 10</a> can download the Your Phone App from Microsoft Store. And use it to access Media, Messages, Calls, and now multiple Apps as well. Previously, in the early update for support of Apps, Microsoft explained how the feature works.</p>
<p>As per the official post, a Wi-Fi connection between PC, and Mobile will allow apps to stream on the PC through Your Phone. Users can browse, Play, Order food, Chat, and do a lot more on the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/pc">PC</a> screen. Besides, users can also add the Apps to Favourites, Pin them to Start Menu and Taskbar. And use them side-by-side with other apps on your PC.</p>
