Xiaomi has unveiled the MIJIA Electric Shaver with Reciprocating Double Blades in China. The new model uses an in-house-developed inclined arc-shaped long beard blade. It has a 0.3mm wide tooth pitch design and this delivers an enhanced performance when shaving.

The micron-level curved surface grinding process blade net of the MIJIA electric shaver improves the smoothness of the shaving and offers comfortable usage. The shaver features a 55-micron ultra-fine razor mesh made through electroplating technology. The mesh can penetrate deep into the roots of the beard to guarantee a clean shave. The mesh design is inspired by the Voronoi polygon structure, according to Xiaomi. It can easily capture beards growing in different directions for an efficient shaving experience.

The new Xiaomi MIJIA electric shaver has a card-style thin and light design and is about 16mm thick. It is easy to carry and store and also has IPX7 waterproof protection. The shaver supports wet and dry shaving which highlights its versatility. It has a zinc alloy magnetic blade holder and shock-absorbing structure blade head, making it easy to install. The shaver can be used without distinguishing the front or back sides with a motor speed of 6,500 rpm.

The dimensions of the Xiaomi MIJIA Electric Shaver with Reciprocating Double Blades are 16.5 x 56.6 x 95mm and it weighs 107g. It has a battery life of 60 minutes and can be recharged quickly via its USB-C port. The device takes just about an hour to be fully recharged and a fast-charging function delivers 5 minutes of usage for a 3-minute charge.

The Xiaomi MIJIA Electric Shaver with Reciprocating Double Blades is priced at 189 yuan ($26). It is available from retail platforms in China including JD.com. The optics of the product for the global market are not available at this time.

Xiaomi has launched its first high-end electric shaver under crowdfunding and itis called the MIJIA Electric Shaver. The shaver costs just 429 yuan ($61) during the crowdfunding period but will retail for 499 yuan ($71) after now. The price is relatively affordable when compared to products from other international brands which sell for between 1000-2000 yuan.

The MIJIA Electric Shaver comes with five cutter heads which are the ultimate number of cutter heads in the global shaver industry. The five cutter heads are well suited for trimming the beard type of Asian men. Mijia electric shaver uses a polygonal structure of micron-sized ultra-thin mesh, which accurately adheres to the contours of the face, and collects beards with different directions and growth patterns. During the sliding process, the multi-directional diffusion rubs on the skin and relieves stress.

Aiming at the complex contours of the human body’s soft and hard undulations, the Mijia electric shaver also uses the innovative 360 ​​° universal omnidirectional floating cutter head. During the shaving process, the cutter head flexibly follows and the cutter mesh surface is adjusted at any time. At the same time, the magnetic cutter head and the cutter net adopt an integrated design.

In terms of performance, Mijia electric shaver comes with an innovative linear magnetic levitation motor which vibrates at a record-15,000 times per minute. There is equally a “travel lock”  when the shaver is turned off, long-press the power button to enter the lock state, and the lock indicator light on the bottom of the fuselage will light up. In this mode, it will not turn on inside a bag or by a child.

In the span of six months, Xiaomi has launched two electric shavers under its Mijia platform. Last year it launched the Mijia Electric Shaver and just a week ago, it also announced the Smate Electric Shaver. Today, it has announced a third one, which is also called the Mijia Electric Shaver.

You might be wondering why it is announcing a new electric shaver barely a week after it announced one. They are actually quite different. The first Mijia Electric Shaver and the Smate Electric Shaver has a foil razor while the new one uses rotary razors. So if you are a fan of rotary shavers, this one is for you.

For the Mijia Rotary Electric Shaver, Xiaomi has partnered with Remington (parent company – Spectrum Brands). Remington is a popular brand known for its shavers and clippers and has yars of experience.

Each rotating razor of the Mijia Electric Shaver has a double-circular knife and double-blade design. The 360° motion of the razors makes it easy to shave hairs located at the corners of your face. The electric shaver has an IP67 rating, so its safe for use in the shower. It also supports wet and dry shaving methods.

The blades are supplied by Japan’s JFE company and the knives are supplied by Sweden’s SANDVIK company. Japan’s MABUCHI MOTOR supplied the electric motor found in the shaver. The shaver has a cutting speed of 3.9 m/s.

The Mijia Electric Shaver has a travel lock feature to prevent it from accidentally starting itself when not in use. It also has an indicator that will alert you when the shaver needs to be cleaned due to an accumulation of hair or when the shaver has a fault.

Xiaomi doesn’t mention the battery capacity but says the shaver has fast charge. This allows you to charge it for just 5-minutes for a single shave. Charging the shaver fully takes 120 minutes via the charging dock and it’ll last 60 minutes on a single charge.

The shaver is priced at ¥199 (~$32) and will go on sale on April 3 on the official Xiaomi website. It only comes in black.
