Xiaomi has launched a new and upgraded version of the MIJIA Induction Night Light that was first released in 2017 and has been one of its top-selling products. The new version is dubbed MIJIA Night Light 2 and has as its biggest feature, the magnetic structure design which can be rotated freely, providing illumination in all directions even when it is fixed in one place. The light comes with double the brightness of its predecessor. The brightness of this version is ramped up to 25 lumens and so, can be used as a spotlight and not just a night light.

The newly upgraded MIJIA Night Light 2 comes with adjustable brightness, including a 2800k warm light which can meet the night lighting needs of the restroom, corridor, balcony, bedroom, children’s room, patio, wardrobe light.

In terms of the design, the MIJIA Night Light 2 retains the minimalist design of the previous generation MIJIA Night Light and of course, most Xiaomi products. The body is manufactured from environmentally-friendly ABS material, PC matt diffusion cover and custom machine Fresnel lens with superb texture. With the magnetic design, it can be attached to the nightstand, on the walls and detached easily if there is a need to move around with it. The device has a trapezoidal base and a hemispherical lamp body. There is also a metal substrate with an adhesive which can be attached anywhere. It is the metal that the light magnets, creating some strong grip but it can be detached with just some minor force.

The Night Light 2 still has a built-in photosensitive + human body dual sensor, with a sensing range within a 120 ° radius. The light automatically turns off in 15 seconds if no human body is detected anywhere within the range. The owner can also turn off the light as desired. The device uses three batteries with a cumulative power of not less than 1500mAh. The battery can last up to 365 days, especially when used under low brightness.

The MIJIA Night Light 2 will open for crowdfunding at 10:00 AM on August 28 via Xiaomi Mall and Mi Home. The official price is 49 yuan (~$6) but the crowdfunding price is only 99 yuan (~$13) for three 3 units.
