Xiaomi, the smartphone manufacturing giant, is preparing to launch an electric toothbrush in India. It seems odd that a mobile OEM to venture to the hygiene industry but the company is well known for its diverse offerings from a broad horizon of consumables in China.

The Chinese tech giant has already teased the launch of the new dental care product in the country. According to the official reveal, the launch is set for 20th February 2020. The product is called the Mijia Sonic Electric Toothbrush T300 for the Indian subcontinent. This will be a new product from the company and will expand Xiaomi’s electronic ecosystem in the Southeast Asian region.

Xiaomi’s Mijia offering will focus on a wide range of different products and could just be the tip of the iceberg for similar products being launched in the near future. Currently, the company is offering two Mijia electric toothbrush models named T300 and T500. The former is expected to be launched in India and may arrive with a price between 1,000 to 1,500 INR (roughly 14 to 20 US Dollars).

Both electric toothbrushes feature high performance and durable motor. T300, in particular, works at 31,000 vibrations per minute and also sports a rust and metal free brush head. Furthermore, the T300 has a 25 day battery life and has been certified by the FDA and offers UV protection as well. The toothbrush heads are replaceable, making overall expenditure lower in the longer run.

However, if Xiaomi is actually looking to be more competitive in the market it could launch the T100 electric toothbrush which is priced around 40 RMB (roughly 410 US Dollars). This would allow it to be in the same price range as other alternatives like Oral-B, a dental care brand. Unfortunately, we will have to wait for another official announcement to confirm anything. Xiaomi has launched the MIJIA T500 Sonic Electric Toothbrush, the second-generation of MIJIA branded electric toothbrush for adults. The first-gen MIJIA Sonic Toothbrush was first launched n 2017. The new product comes with a cheap 199 yuan ($28) price tag. It is presently available on Xiaomi Mall, Xiaomi Tmall Flagship Store and Xiaomi Home.

The Xiaomi MIJIA T500 Sonic Electric Toothbrush comes with an upgraded magnetic levitation sonic motor with a more refined internal structure. The motor makes lesser noise and the vibration is more refined, bring comfort to the toothbrushing routine. The vibration frequency is 31,000 times/min and the power is strong. At the same time, the toothbrush comes with a new smart over-voltage reminder function which senses the brushing force in real-time. When the brushing force is too much, the toothbrush automatically reduces the vibration, and the battery indicator flashes to remind you.

At the same time, it has a torque output of 230gf.cm, which keeps the bristles 10° stable swing, which drives the water and toothpaste in the mouth to form a small pulse force. This action has an effect on the blind spots of the teeth, cleans the stubborn plaque, and deeply cleans the oral blind zones.

In addition, the Mijia Sonic Electric Toothbrush T500 is also equipped with a high-precision accelerometer to accurately identify the user’s brushing posture, angle and range. Users can connect to the MIJIA app via Bluetooth to develop a brushing mode suitable for them.

This prevents the toothbrush from getting rust and deteriorating when left in a wet environment for a long time. The new technology also increased the number of bristles by about 40% allowing the bristles to cover the surface of the teeth during brushing in a more efficient manner. The toothbrush also comes with an IPX7 waterproof rating.

In addition, the MIJIA T500 Sonic Electric Toothbrush still uses wireless inductive charging. It comes with up to 18 days of battery life at full power, and the remaining battery capacity can be viewed at any time via the MIJIA app. Also, you can customize your own exclusive tooth cleaning mode, identify daily brushing conditions, generate oral health reports on a regular basis, and master the scientific brushing method via the MIJIA app.
