Xiaomi has unveiled its first-ever titanium thermos cup. Xiaomi will kickstart a crowdfunding campaign for the MIJIA Thermos Cup Ti on December 28. Xiaomi claims the use of titanium metal for manufacturing the MIJIA thermos cup Ti is the first of its kind for a thermos cup.

Titanium is a very pure metal and will not precipitate heavy metals. It is a recognized biophilic metal, according to Xiaomi, and offers more reliability to the thermos. Xiaomi uses titanium both inside and outside the MIJIA thermos cup Ti. The cup has a capacity of 450ml and weighs 21.5g. The thermos can keep liquid warm at 58 degrees Celsius for up to 6 hours and cold at 10 degrees Celsius for 6 hours.

The MIJIA thermos cup Ti uses TA1 quality pure titanium with a 99% titanium content. It does not contain harmful heavy metals and has the highest level of purity. The TA1 titanium is widely used in biomedical applications and there is no fear of contamination when using the thermos. The new MIJIA thermos cup adopts a high-temperature crystallization process of the inner tank. This means that the cup is essentially self-cleaning and just requires a rinse.

The thermos cup Ti has a one-button flip that can be used to open the cover. The one-button approach makes it convenient to operate the cup with a single hand. It also has a built-in hidden tea filter that effectively prevents tea leaves from entering the chamber. The tea filter is easy to install and remove for cleaning.

The Xiaomi MIJIA Thermos Cup Ti will be available from December 28 via crowdfunding. The retail price of the thermos cup is 189 yuan (~$27). The finer details of the crowdfunding campaign, including its duration, are not available at this time. There are no details yet also about the global availability of the new thermos cup.
