<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/satellite/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-125016" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/satellite.jpg?x96852" alt="" width="600" height="392" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/satellite.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/satellite-300x196.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>The entire 156 mini-satellites will orbit at 1,000 km above the ground and according to CASIC, it&#8217;s the first low orbiting, networked satellite project developed in China. Orbiting at a low altitude would ensure that there wouldn&#8217;t be signal delay.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/phone-users-china/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-125017" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/phone-users-china.jpg?x96852" alt="" width="980" height="551" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/phone-users-china.jpg 980w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/phone-users-china-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/phone-users-china-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px" /></a></p>
<p>The satellites are apparently ka-band satellites as they are said to fall in the 26.5GHz to 40GHz frequencies bands which is the range of the ka-band. The Ka-band has become the band of choice for many satellite operators due to its increasing capacity availability and its applicability for broadband services. The project is a long term one as the first satellite will be sent into space before next year and then four more will join by 2020 to form a constellation. All 156 mini-satellites will be in operation by the end of 2025.</p>
