Enhanced Mini LED Technology

At the heart of the QM6K series lies TCL’s new “Precise Dimming” Mini LED technology. This innovation incorporates a Super High Energy LED Chip, which boosts brightness by 53% and enhances light efficiency by 10% compared to previous generations. The TVs also feature a Condensed Micro Lens design that optimizes light control, delivering precise illumination and significantly reducing blooming, the halo effect where light bleeds into dark areas of the screen.

With up to 500 local dimming zones, the QM6K series provides deeper blacks, higher contrast, and a more immersive viewing experience. The improved backlight system, aided by TCL’s new Bi-directional 23-bit Backlight Controller, enables granular control of over 65,000 brightness levels, resulting in exceptional detail in both bright and dark scenes.

Enhanced Color and Image Quality

The QM6K series leverages advanced quantum dot technology to achieve vibrant and accurate colors. Covering up to 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, the TV is capable of rendering over one billion colors with striking precision. Additionally, TCL’s Dynamic Light Algorithm ensures that even SDR content is displayed with near-HDR quality, offering consistently superior visuals regardless of the source material.

For HDR enthusiasts, the QM6K supports a wide range of high dynamic range formats, including Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, and Filmmaker Mode, ensuring optimized picture quality across different types of content.

Gaming-Centric Features

TCL has tailored the QM6K series for gaming enthusiasts. The TV comes with a native 144Hz refresh rate, which can be boosted to an impressive 288Hz with the Game Accelerator 288 mode. It features AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for a seamless, tear-free gaming experience. The TV also equips Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) to enhance gaming responsiveness, making it an excellent choice for next-gen gaming consoles.

Smart Features and Design

The TCL QM6K series features the Google TV platform, delivering a seamless smart TV experience with access to popular streaming services, voice controls, and personalized recommendations. It comes with hands-free voice control, making navigation effortless. The TV also equips a sleek, bezel-less FullView 360 design, ensuring it blends seamlessly into any living space.

For sound, the QM6K comes equipped with an Onkyo-branded 2.1-channel speaker system, delivering rich, immersive audio. The system supports Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X, adding another layer of depth to movies and games.

Pricing and Availability

The QM6K is available in a variety of sizes, from a compact 50-inch model to a massive 98-inch variant, with prices ranging from $749.99 to $3,499.99. TCL is also offering early customers a free Q75H 5.1.2 channel soundbar, valued at $599.99, with pre-orders.

Why the QM6K Matters

The TCL QM6K represents a significant leap forward in affordable premium televisions. By integrating high-end Mini LED technology with a comprehensive feature set and competitive pricing, TCL is making advanced display technology more accessible than ever. The QM6K’s impressive specifications, coupled with its thoughtful design and user-friendly features, ensure it will be a strong contender in the midrange TV market.

Acer has just debuted a bunch of new gaming monitors that are a part of its popular Predator series. These models include the flagship Predator Z57 Dual UHD curved MiniLED, Predator X34 V3 curved MiniLED gaming monitors, Predator X39, and Predator X34 OLED gaming monitors. So let’s have a look.

Acer Predator Z57

The Predator Z57 is the company’s flagship gaming monitor. The model offers a 57-inch curved display that offers a Dual UHD (7680×2160) resolution and offers 120Hz refresh rate. It features 2304-zone MiniLED technology, which promises to offer improved picture quality and brightness. It has a wide 32:9 aspect ratio and a 1000R curvature. The Predator Z57 can output up to 1000 nits of brightness and comes with VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification for accurate colors and light and dark contrast.

The screen features a 98 percent DCI-P3 color gamut. Thanks to the large screen real estate, users can even multi task with this model. It supports the latest consoles and comes with two HDMI 2.1 ports and DisplayPort 1.4. It has a sleek body and houses twin 10W speakers. The China launch is set for Q1 2024, while the North American release kicks off on Q2 2024 for a 2,499 USD price tag.

Acer Predator X34 V3

Acer’s Predator X34 V3 sports a 34-inch display as the name suggests. The screen is a curved MiniLED panel that offers a 21:9 aspect ratio and QHD resolution. It has a 1500R curvature along with a 94 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, and VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification. This gaming monitor promises to offer an enhanced gaming monitor with a 180Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time for minimal ghosting and immersive gameplay. Similar to the Predator Z57, the model houses HDMI 2 and DisplayPort 1.4 ports along with two 5W speakers. The new X34 V3 starts from 1,399 USD and will be available for purchase at the same time as the Predator Z57.

Acer Predator X39 & Predator X34 X

Apart from the MiniLED models, the tech giant also debuted two new OLED gaming monitors which are the Predator X39 and Predator X34 X. The former sports a 39-inch panel, while the latter has a 34-inch screen. Both models feature up to UWQHD resolution (3440×1440) resolution and up to a 240Hz refresh rate. The high refresh rate is paired with 0.01ms pixel response time to ensure a smoother and stutter free gameplay experience. The two OLED gaming monitors also offer 800R curvature.

The displays support a 99 percent DCI-P3 color gamut and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. These models arrive with Eyesafe 2.0 certification to ease the strain on users’ eyes. The Predator X34 X has a starting price tag of 1,299 USD while the Predator X39 starts from 1,499 USD. These will also go on sale in the Chinese market in Q1 2024, while the release in other regions kicks off in Q2 2024.

Note: All four new gaming monitors support AMD FreeSync Premium technology to prevent screen tearing and flickering. A USB Type-C enables 90W PD port that delivers power, display, and data transfer. The new Predator Gaming Monitors feature built in KVM switch for swapping sources without having to reconnect peripherals.

BOE had revealed their revolutionary next-generation P0.9 mini-LED display at SID 2022 International Display Week recently in which the panel is a sub-millimetre light-emitting diode display, meaning it measures less than 1mm in thickness. The mini LED display is made of a glass-based material.

Since then, the company is expected to launch an updated iMac Pro in the market.

There have been several rumors hinting at the launch of a 27-inch iMac Pro sometime next year and now the latest report coming from Display Supply Chain reveals that the device is expected to launch in Spring.

24-inch Apple iMac

The report reveals that the 27-inch iMac Pro from Apple will feature a MiniLED screen and have support for 120Hz variable refresh rate and Oxide backplanes. It will also mark the introduction of Pro Motion display technology to the iMac lineup.

While earlier reports have also talked about the new iMac Pro model getting launched around the same time, DSCC pretty much confirms it as its analysts usually get information from the screen manufacturers with a pretty accurate timeline.

It is expected that the device could have a starting configuration of 16GB RAM and 512GB of SSD storage, just like the recently launched MacBook Pro lineup. Further, users will likely get an option to choose between M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsets.

Earlier, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman had also hinted about the revamped high-end iMac with Apple Silicon launching in 2022 but then reported that the Cupertino-based tech giant may have postponed it to focus on the 24-inch M1-powered iMac.

The new report also hints about the launch timeline for some other rumored Apple products. It adds that the iPad and MacBook models featuring OLED panels are not expected to launch until 2023 but are likely to be announced in 2024.

One such product is the Huawei Smart Screen V 75 Super smart TV. The major highlight of the smart TV is the self-developed MiniLED screen with backlight technology. The screen has a peak brightness of up to 3000nits, and up to 2880 physical backlight partitions.

The Huawei Smart Screen V 75 Super also has a 20-unit audio system jointly designed with Deware to provide users with powerful sound quality. It also provides a better smart home ecological experience as it runs on the latest HarmonyOS 2. This makes the TV Huawei’s first smart TV that runs on the self-developed multi-platform HarmonyOS 2.

At present, Huawei Smart Screen has been launched under three series of X, V, and S. The Smart Screen V 75 Super is the Super version of the second-generation V series product. Compared with Huawei Smart Screen V 75, it has improved design, optimum picture quality, sound quality, and a better operating system.

The MiniLED is a self-developed Honghu SuperMiniLED precision matrix backlight solution. The area of the MiniLED chip used (0.075mm²) is only 1/120 of the area of the traditional LED lamp bead (9mm²). Thus, up to 46080 MiniLED chips can be placed under a 75-inch screen. The massive number of MiniLED chips provides an exaggerated picture performance: 2880 physical partitions, bringing up to tens of millions of contrasts, and supporting HDR peak brightness of up to 3000nit.

Further, Huawei Smart Screen V 75 Super also applies “zero” OD technology, which is all developed by Huawei. The self-developed CSP light mixing structure technology makes the light mixing effect in the lamp panel more uniform. The entire “zero” OD technology provides better partition control fineness and picture contrast, as well as better backlight uniformity.

In addition, the Smart Screen V 75 Super also has various algorithm optimizations such as Clear Light Control PRO+, Quick Clear Smooth Technology, Quick Clear Dynamic Technology, Dynamic Contrast Enhancement PRO, Clear Image Processing Technology, etc. These optimizations comprehensively improve the overall screen performance under different types of videos. The TV also has HDR Vivid and TUV Rheinland low blue light and no flicker certifications.

In addition to screen performance, sound quality performance is also a very important indicator of TV. Huawei’s smart screen V 75 Super is equipped with a 20-unit audio system jointly designed with Deware this time. It has two center channels, each speaker has 1 full-range unit and 1 high-frequency unit; there is a main channel on the left and right, and both are equipped with 2 full-range units and 1 high-frequency unit; surround sound and Sky channel, a total of 4 full-frequency units, providing horizontal and vertical sound field width; finally there is a subwoofer channel composed of 6 sounding units (2 active units, 2 pairs of infinite radiators), which are common Users provide an excellent surround sound experience with full frequency bands.

There is no word yet on the pricing and availability details.
