Snapdragon X2 Elite Mini PCs

Qualcomm revealed two experimental Snapdragon X2 mini PC reference designs during the Snapdragon Summit. The first is a circular model that looks like a frisbee. It features the new Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme chip, with 12 Prime cores clocked up to 5.0GHz and six performance cores at 3.6GHz. The total 18-core configuration supports up to 228 GB/s memory bandwidth.

For international buyers, the barebone variant is listed at $695, and the 32GB RAM + 1TB SSD configuration is priced at $879. The M1 Pro series originally launched in global markets back in July, and this new release brings a more powerful configuration designed specifically for creators and professionals.

Minisforum M1 Pro Mini PC Specs

The M1 Pro-285H features Intel’s latest Core Ultra 9 285H processor. This 16-core, 16-thread chip reaches clock speeds up to 5.4GHz and delivers up to 99 TOPS of AI performance.

Minisforum has unveiled the AtomMan G7 Ti mini PC at Computex 2024. The model is the latest entry to the Minisforum AtomMan lineup of premium mini PCs. The unveiling comes on the heels of the release of the Minisforum AtomMan G7 Pt. The model however comes with the Intel i914900HX CPU alongside the Nvidia RTX 4070 Laptop GPU. The AtomMan G7 Pt, on the other hand, features an AMD CPU.

The Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti system delivers a higher performance than its predecessor. The 14th gen Intel i9 14900HX CPU has 24 cores and 32 threads. The processor is high-up in comparison with the average mini PC’s processor. It is however noted that the G7 Ti is seen as a rebranded HN14X that was announced last April. The new model is designed for the global audience and the AtomMan moniker seems relevant in this regard. The Intel i9 CPU has a single-core boost clock of 5.8GHz but is under par in performance with the G7 Pt’s Ryzen 9 7945HX in multi-threaded workloads.

The Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti supports dual-channel DDR5 memory and dual PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 slots for its internal storage. Connectivity options available on the AtomMan G7 Ti include USB 4.0, USB 3.1, USB 3.0, HDMI 2.1, and gigabit Ethernet. The single HDMI 2.1 port is the best on offer for display as the model omits a DisplayPort interface. Wireless connectivity options available on the G7 Ti are WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

Overall, the performance of the AtomMan G7 Ti should be similar to that of the G7 Pt. Minisforum has not revealed the pricing and full release details yet for the new mini PC.

It is powered by the Alder Lake-N CPU called the N100 and comes with a pocket-sized design. The new Minisforum S100 mini PC supports Power over Ethernet (PoE). The gadget is suitable for digital signage, small workspaces, and educational settings that do not require high computing power.

Features

The new mini PC joins a list of specs-laden devices that it has released of late. The S100 is currently being launched at a discounted and promotional price. It is a lightweight and compact mini PC powered by the Intel N100 processor. The processor has a quad-core setup and omits Hyper Threading. The 6W Intel N100 is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 memory. The Minisforum S100 does not feature a storage drive due to its pretty small size. It therefore has only 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage.

The Minisforum S100 has an in-built cooling system despite its small size. It is equipped with a small fan attached to a heatsink. The device operates at a noise level of 24dB when it’s idle and 43 dB at full load. The mini PC does not require a dedicated power cable for its operation. Apart from its support for PoE, the S100 has a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port that is used to power the device. The mini PC also has two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and one HDMI 2.0 interface.

Pricing

The S100 is compatible with Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi 6 connectivity. It supports dual 4K displays and is equipped with Windows 11 operating system pre-installed. The launch price of the Minisforum S100 is $189 and can be purchased directly via the Minisforum website.

The Minisforum UM790 XTX comes with a display stand that allows the mini PC to stand securely when in use. The UM790 XTX is a more powerful model than its predecessor, the UM780 XTX. To put this in perspective, the Minisforum UM780 XTX is currently referred to as The King of the Mini PC. The new model was originally announced in 2023 but is just beginning to sell in China.

The AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS processor can clock up to 70W TDP which is about 25W higher than the AMD default of 45W. The UM790 XTX comes with two USB4 (Alt PD) ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, HDMI, DisplayPort, and an audio jack. It also features two Rj45 2.5G network ports and an OCuLink plug for connecting Pro GPU cards to the mini PC. The product features an upgraded active cooling system that sustains optimal operating temperatures even under heavy loads. The device has a magnetic top cover with backlight and RGB lighting.

The memory and storage configurations of the Minisforum UM790 XTX are 16/ 32/ 64GB RAM and 512GB/ 1TB/ 2TB SSD respectively. The EM780 is powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 7840U APU processor, which is higher than that of its predecessor. MINISFORUM has introduced its latest offering, the Neptune HN2673 Mini PC. In terms of design, this mini-PC is quite similar to the MINISFORUM NAD9 model that the company released last year.

Key Features of MINISFORUM’s Neptune HN2673 Mini PC

Under the hood, the Neptune HN2673 is equipped with an Intel Core i7-12650H processor, a robust 10-core, 16-thread chip running at speeds of up to 4.7 GHz. While it may offer slightly reduced CPU performance compared to the NAD9’s Core i9-12900H chip, it compensates with its impressive graphics capabilities, thanks to the inclusion of an Intel Arc A730M discrete graphics card with 6GB GDDR6 memory. The performance of the Intel Arc A730M is between the RTX 3050 Ti and RTX 3060, making it more than capable of handling most 1080P games.

In terms of expandability, the HN2673 doesn’t disappoint. It features two DDR4 memory slots, supporting a maximum of 64GB of DDR4-3200 memory, ensuring smooth multitasking and efficient performance. The mini PC also includes an M.2 slot that supports PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs with capacities of up to 2TB. Additionally, it offers two 2.5-inch SATA 3 slots for hard drives or SSDs, an M.2 2230 slot for a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module, and built-in support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, ensuring seamless connectivity options.

Neptune HN2673 Mini PC is now up for pre-order in US and Europe. The model with 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD, is priced at $649 for US consumers and €759 for Europe consumers. MINISFORUM has confirmed that pre-order shipments of the Neptune HN2673 will start in late July this year in the US and late June in Europe.

In addition to the Neptune HN2673, MINISFORUM has also recently unveiled its smallest mini-PC the Mercury EM680 mini-PC, powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor.

Minisforum has unveiled two new mini PCs powered by AMD Phoenix APUs. The Minisforum UM 780 Pro and UM 790 are promoted as the brand’s most powerful mini PCs so far. They are powered by AMD’s latest Ryzen 7040 Phoenix APUs and will deliver faster performance in an efficient package.

Some basic details of the new Minisforum mini PCs have been released. The lineup will adopt the Ryzen 9 7940H/HS and Ryzen 7 7840H/HS chipsets. The processors will have up to 8 Zen 4 cores, 16 threads, and up to 5.2GHz boost clocks. The models also have a compact and efficient integrated Radeon 780M iGPU with RDNA 3 graphics. The latest Minisforum mini PCs support DDR5-5600 dual-channel memory.

The models have implemented the Minisforum active cooling solution. This is part of the Cold Wave cooling system for the APU, memory, and SSD. In terms of design, the new PCs feature a sleek metallic design with exhaust vents on the sides and back.

The ports available for the mini hosts include USB4 (Type-C), USB 3.2 Gen 2 (Type-A), LAN (2.5GbE) with Killer Wireless card, and HDMI. The mini PCs also have a 19V DC power connector. The USB4 ports support 100W charging and they can accommodate up to four displays simultaneously.

The Minisforum UM780 Pro is priced at 3,999 yuan (~$550) for the base model but this is projected to drop to around $400 by 2024. It is available for pre-order at a discounted price for China-based customers. Other details including availability and pricing for other markets will surface shortly.
