The update has not started to roll out yet as an OTA but you can grab the file and load it manually on to your device. The update comes as MIUI 10.1.3.0 and is 1.7GB in size. There isn’t much to the changelog but the camera app now supports Google Lens, issues with Android Auto has been fixed and the issue with the microphone not working after plugging in earphones has also been fixed.

According to some comments on the XDA forum for the phone, there are some issues that have not been fixed or seem to have returned such as keyboard lag, notification handling, and touch lag on PUBG. You may want to go through the whole thread to get more info.

The update can be manually downloaded here if you don’t want to wait. If you are not eager to get on Android Pie, the OTA should soon hit your device.

The POCOPHONE F1 is an affordable flagship launched by Xiaomi. It has a 6.18-inch 2246 x 1080 screen, a Snapdragon 845 processor and up to 8GB of RAM. Storage capacity starts at 64GB and maxes out at 256GB. A MicroSD card slot which doubles as a second SIM slot will let you add up to an extra 256GB of space.

The phone has a 12MP + 5MP dual camera combo on its back. It nearly even won a blind camera test put up by popular tech YouTuber, MKBHD. It was defeated only by the Huawei Mate 20 Pro in a test that includes heavyweights such as Google’s Pixel 3, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9, LG’s V40 ThinQ and Apple’s iPhone XS.

Other features of the POCOPHONE F1 are a 20MP selfie camera, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, IR Face Unlock, and a 4,000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0. Apart from its flagship specs, the major selling point of the phone is its price tag which starts at about $300.

The update comes as MIUI 10.1 and weighs in at 2.1GB. The key change is the upgrade to Android Pie but it also brings the Mi MIX 3‘s 960fps slow-motion recording and Night Mode camera features to both devices. The changelog also says there are a number of bug fixes including screen flickering and screen blackouts.

The update is rolling out to the Chinese variants of these phones for now. A global stable version will definitely be announced in future.

The Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer Edition were both released in May 2018. They came pre-installed with MIUI 9.6 based on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and later got updated to MIUI 10 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. This update won’t change the way the phone looks since it is still based on MIUI 10 but you get the features of Android Pie.
