Later, the company </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/02/08/miui-12-5-global-features-update-rollout-details/"><span style="font-weight: 400">unveiled MIUI 12.5 Global</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> at the Mi 11 launch event for international markets. At the same event, the firm even revealed the list of eligible devices. In fact, the Chinese smartphone maker had even </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/02/03/xiaomi-begins-recruiting-pilot-testers-global-miui/"><span style="font-weight: 400">started recruiting global pilot (beta) testers</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> before the announcement. Now, a little over a month later, Xiaomi has opened registrations for MIUI 12.5 India beta program.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-366006" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/miui-12.5.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="1200" height="750" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/miui-12.5.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/miui-12.5-300x188.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/miui-12.5-768x480.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/miui-12.5-1024x640.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/miui-12.5-696x435.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/miui-12.5-1068x668.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/miui-12.5-672x420.jpg 672w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">For those unaware, Xiaomi (Mi, Redmi, POCO) smartphones run different MIUI builds based on the regions they are sold in. Since India is the company’s largest market outside mainland China, almost all phones sold in India ship with MIUI India ROM.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Talking about MIUI 12.5, it is the latest version of Xiaomi’s mobile operating system. It is a minor upgrade over </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI-12/"><span style="font-weight: 400">MIUI 12</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">, which was </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/27/miui-12-launched-all-new-features-and-supported-devices/"><span style="font-weight: 400">introduced in late April 2020</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. The new version focuses on performance, privacy, sounds &amp; haptics, and uninstallable system apps to name a few.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The company has been rolling out </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI-12-5/"><span style="font-weight: 400">MIUI 12.5</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> weekly beta builds in China since the initial announcement. Similarly, the company has been even running MIUI 12.5 Global Beta program for quite a while now.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Hence, Xiaomi has now started recruiting beta testers for MIUI 12.5 India. Since Mi Community India is now </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/10/xiaomi-temporarily-disables-mi-community-india-app-and-website/"><span style="font-weight: 400">disabled in the country</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">, the company seems to have shared the registration form via some other media. We are not sure how they shared the form but we came across it through </span><a href="https://piunikaweb.com/2021/03/27/miui-india-stable-rom-tester-recruitment-starts-ahead-of-miui-12-5-stable/"><i><span style="font-weight: 400">PiunikaWeb</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">According to the registration form, the following Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO smartphones will be eligible for MIUI 12.5 India ROM.</span></p>
