<p><span style="font-weight: 400">For the unaware, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Xiaomi"><span style="font-weight: 400">Xiaomi </span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">has a unique type of </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI"><span style="font-weight: 400">MIUI </span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">build known as Stable Beta. These builds can be only installed on devices with beta-authorized Mi account signed in.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Which means these builds are meant for beta testers chosen by the company before rolling out the update to the public. However, users can bypass this limitation if their device has an unlocked bootloader with custom recovery like TWRP installed.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">In most cases, Xiaomi rolls out the same build as a final stable update to the public by removing the beta Mi account authorization server side. But if the early birds happen to find critical bugs, the company would release another stable beta build and the same process would repeat.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">In simpler words, the MIUI 12 Global Stable Beta update, which is currently being rolled out to </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-9/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Mi 9</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-9t/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Mi 9T</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-9t-pro/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Mi 9T Pro</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-k20/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Redmi K20</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">, and </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-k20-pro/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Redmi K20 Pro</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> cannot be installed by all users unless they have a custom recovery installed on their device.</span></p>
