This year, Motorola should unveil the 6th-gen models of the series. One of the expected models is the Moto E6, and some of its key specs have been leaked.

The source of the info is Mishaal Rahman (@MishaalRahman) of XDA Developers, and he took to Twitter to reveal some key details about the unreleased phone.

Moto E5

The Motorola Mote E6 is codenamed “surfna” and will be available in the US. The phone will actually be sold by carriers but there is no info on which ones will have it. The display size is said to be 5.45-inches and it will have a resolution of 720 x 1440. Mishaal said in the tweet that he’s not sure about the display.

The Moto E6 will be powered by the Snapdragon 430 processor, which is an old mobile phone SoC already. There will be 2GB of RAM and 16GBG/32GB of internal storage.

The phone will have a 13MP f/2.0 SK53L6 rear camera and a 5MP f/2.0 S5K5E9 selfie camera. It will also launch with Android 9 Pie. The battery capacity wasn’t revealed but seeing as the Moto E5 packs a 4,000mAh battery, we expect no less for the Moto E6.

Motorola unveiled the Moto E5 in April 2018. April is over already, so we should look forward to next month for the arrival of its successor. We also expect details of the other models of the sixth-gen Moto E series will surface in the coming weeks.

The Moto E is the low-end line from Motorola with very budget specs and intended for emerging markets. 2016 saw us getting two models of the phone: the Moto E3 and Moto E3 Power. Both devices were released in September and less than 6 months later, it seems we might be getting a new model.

A tweet by leakster Roland Quandt (@rquandt) mentions details of a Motorola phone seen on the FCC’s website. The phone’s model number is listed as Moto XT1750 and is codenamed “Watson”. It has 8GB of internal memory, dual SIM support, and a 2350mAh battery.

The internal memory hints at it being a Moto E since that’s like the signature storage of the series (save for the E3 Power). The battery capacity is what’s confusing though. Last year’s model has a 2800mAh battery but comes with a 5-inch 720p screen. Both features are upgrades from the 2015 model which has a 4.5-inch (540 x 960) display and a 2390mAh battery. There is no mention of the screen size of this new device, but it will be unwise to bundle it with a smaller battery if they are retaining the 5-inch display.

READ MORE: Lenovo Underestimated the Difficulty of Reviving Motorola During Acquisition

Yes, the Moto E3 and E3 Power are barely six months old but that is because they were released later than usual. The 2nd Gen model was released in February 2015, so this might get a launch soon as well, probably at MWC alongside the Moto G5. Who knows?

What do you think? Is this a new Moto E phone or will you go with Roland and give it a new name like the “Moto C”?

(Source)

At the time of the launch, the company stated that it would soon be available in over 40 countries in Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America. While it did announce details about the phone’s release in US, the company revealed very little about its plans for other countries.

Now, it looks like, we have some more details about the India launch of Moto E 2015. A new poster on Flipkart, which is the country’s most popular e-commerce website as well as the exclusive seller of Motorola phones, reveals that the phone will be available for sale in India for Rs. 6999.

In case you are wondering, this is for the 3G model which will be made available worldwide. There’s a 4G model as well, but it will be limited to US, at least for the moment.

The Moto E 2015 comes with a Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2Ghz with 1GB RAM on board. The screen size has been aptly increased from 4.3-inches to 4.5-inch in the new model. However, the resolution remains the same at 960 x 540 pixels. The internal storage has now been increased to 8GB and the dual SIM card and MicroSD slots have been shifted to the side. One of the biggest selling points of the device is its Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out of the box, which will definitely set it apart from other low end offerings.

The current Moto E sells at Rs. 5999, so the new model is only a slightly costlier. Given the upgrades, the phone looks like a good deal at the given price. No details of the release date of the device have been revealed, but expect more information soon.
