Motorola Moto E4: more detailed specs, Canada MSRP is 249,99 CAD, interesting to see NFC (certain markets) and GG3, supposedly ships July 17 pic.twitter.com/IOCddU3o6L

We have already covered the specification details in previous articles but the new addition is that the Moto E4 will have Gorilla Glass 3 protecting its 5-inch screen.

There is 2GB of RAM, 16GB ROM and a microSD card slot that takes up to 128GB cards. It will be powered by Mediatek’s MT6737M processor.

The rear camera on the Moto E4 is an 8MP sensor with LED flash. It has HDR and can shoot panorama images and record videos at 720p. For the front facing camera, you get a 5MP camera.

The Moto E4 has Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, FM Radio and NFC (market dependent). It will run Android 7.1.1 out of the box and will have a removable 2800mAh battery.

READ MORE: Motorola is So Sure Its Batteries Won’t Explode Like the Galaxy Note 7

According to Roland Quandt, the Moto E4 will likely ship on July 17. There is a possibility it will launch before then, so there’s 1.5 months before the device reaches customers. Price in Canada is CAD 249.99 (~$185) and that’s a bit pricey if you ask me. Those who don’t use NFC may go for the Moto G4 Play which has very similar specs and sells for CAD 202 on Amazon. The European price was already revealed as €150.

The E4 will take over from the E3, which itself is a big bargain in terms of price. Ahead of its official launch, the Moto E4 has appeared on Geekbench.

The Moto E4 has already started its pre-launch appearance, first hitting the US FCC where it was certified along with the E4 Plus. The device was later spotted on the website of the Indonesian regulatory body P3DN where it appears to have been certified for use in the country and now the GeekBench appearance.

From the listing, we could grab that the E4 would come with a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 chipset clocked at 1.25GHz. The MT6737 chip is an entry level chip announced by MediaTek early last year. The processor is backed by 2GB of RAM and the device will run Android 7.0 Nougat. That is about all regarding the specs but the SoC used implies the E4 can’t have a screen resolution bigger than 720p, and a rear camera with a resolution higher than 13 MP. The benchmark score further confirms that the E4 will be a low-end device, with a 551 single core test score and 1514 on the multi-core test.

The Moto E4 is also expected to come with a metallic body, dual SIM / dual standby support, 4G LTE, 16GB storage and a 2800 mAh battery among other features. We don’t know yet when the device will drop but we are sure that isn’t far away.

The Moto ride continues, barely two weeks after the Moto E4 and E4 Plus was spotted on the US FCC website where they were certified. Unfortunately, the FCC appearance didn’t give many details of the specs. However, the Moto E4 has now appeared on the website of the Indonesian regulatory body P3DN where it has been certified for use in the country.

The listing appears to be for the version of the Moto E4 that would hit the Indonesian market, considering it has a model number XT 1755 which is different from the FCC listed model with number XT 1723. The listed specifications are entirely entry-level specs and they include a 5-inch FWVGA display with a rather low 854 x 480 pixels resolution.

Also, the phone is listed with a MediaTek MT6737m processor with 1GB/2GB/3GB and 4GB RAM versions. All four versions pack the same 16GB storage. The camera aspect could be said to be just for formality because it packs a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP selfie shooter. Keeping the lights on would be a 2300mAh battery as against the 4,000mAh battery on the FCC listed Moto E4.

Read Also: Moto E4 Plus with 5000mAh Battery Seen on FCC Alongside Moto E4

We expect the Moto E4 and E4 Plus to roll out in the coming weeks and since they are budget devices, the price tags are absolutely going to be cheap. It just can’t be anything other than super-cheap.

A new Motorola smartphone with model number XT1723 has been spotted on the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website where it has been certified. The device is suspected to be the Moto E4, successor to the Moto E3 (Moto E 2016) released last year. The Moto E3 also got certified by FCC last year with the model number XT1706.

Usually, the FCC site doesn’t reveal much about the device being certified but in this case, the little listed is enough to get us excited. The Moto XT1723 model is listed with a massive 4,000mAh battery which dwarfs that of the Moto E3 which came with a 3,500mAh battery. The device is also listed with a 16GB storage which is believed to be its base version. There will likely be a 32GB storage version in the long run. That is just where it ends but we hope to see more about the device in the coming days.

The FCC certification means the Motorola, owned by Lenovo, has now gotten the green light to sell the Moto E4 in the US and Canada. The E4 will likely join two other Motorola models which had earlier appeared on WiFi Alliance with model numbers XT1750 and XT1754.
