Last year, Motorola launched the Moto G Play 2021 in the US market. The device debuted as a budget 4G smartphone with entry-level specs paired with a Snapdragon 460 SoC. Now, the brand has launched its successor in the US market, called the Moto G Play 2023. Let’s take a detailed look at this new device.

The new Moto G Play (2023) comes with a curved edge design along with a curved back. It has a 6.5-inch IPS TFT LCD display that offers an HD+ (720 x 1600 pixel) resolution along with a 90hz refresh rate. The display also features a punch-hole cutout for the front camera and noticeable bezels with a thick chin.

Motorola

On the back, it has a triple camera setup with an LCD flash housed inside a rectangular camera island. There is a 16MP main sensor, along with a 2MP macro sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. The front camera cutout houses a 5MP sensor. Numerous AI-enabled camera features, like Auto Smile Capture, Smart Composition, and Dual Capture, are offered on the smartphone.

Under the hood, the Moto G Play (2023) is powered by a MediaTek Helio G37 chipset, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage that can be expanded via the microSD slot. The phone runs Android 12 and comes with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 10W charging. A 3.5mm headphone jack, a fingerprint scanner mounted on the back, and an IP52 water-repellent construction are additional noteworthy features.

Both in the US and Canada, the Moto G Play (2023) costs $169.99. Also, it will debut on January 12, 2023, the same day in both nations.
