Motorola has officially launched the Moto G31 in India as scheduled. The device succeeds the Moto G30 from earlier this year. The new model does not bring any notable improvements other than the OLED display. It was initially unveiled alongside four other smartphones a few days back.

Motorola Moto G31 Specifications and Features

The Moto G31 features a water-repellant polycarbonate body like other budget smartphones from Lenovo-owned Motorola. The handset flaunts a 6.4-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, 409 PPI, and a 60Hz refresh rate. The panel has an 88.8% screen-to-body ratio, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a centered punch hole.

The phone comes powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC paired with 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage. The storage can be further expanded up to 1TB via a MicroSD card. 

The device runs Android 11 with Lenovo ThinkShield for Mobile security. It is eligible for a single Android update and two years of security updates.

As far as optics are concerned, the handset houses a triple camera setup on the rear comprising of a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide unit, and a 2MP macro shooter. For selfies and video calls, it uses a 13MP snapper.

On the connectivity front, the phone supports dual-SIM, 4G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GNSS (GPS, A-GPS, LTEPP, SUPL, GLONASS, GALILEO), NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C port. 

Unfortunately, it only has a single bottom-firing speaker powered by Dolby Atmos but features dual microphones, a dedicated Google Assistant key, and all the essential sensors like a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, proximity sensor, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, compass, and SAR sensor.

The smartphone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W charging. Lastly, it measures 161.89 x 73.87 x 8.55mm in dimension,  weighs 181g, and arrives in two colors (Mineral Grey, Baby Blue).

Motorola Moto G31 Price and Availability in India

The Motorola Moto G31 will retail at the following price tags in India.

• 4GB + 64GB – ₹12,999 ($173)
• 6GB + 128GB – ₹14,999 ($200)

It will go on sale for the first time at 12 PM on December 6  via Flipkart.

Motorola unveiled the Moto G31 alongside four other smartphones last week. We have been hearing about the handset’s launch in India since the very next day from its announcement. Now, the company has officially confirmed to debut the phone in a few days from now.

According to Motorola India’s official Twitter account, the Moto G31 will launch in the country on November 29. Since the handset is already official, we know everything about it.

In fact, the device’s price in the region also leaked yesterday. The phone is expected to retail at ₹14,999 for the 4GB + 64GB storage configuration in the country.

As far as features are concerned, the Moto G31 is unlike its predecessor Moto G30. It has an impressive set of specifications.

The smartphone sports a 6.4-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. 

It houses a triple camera setup on the rear consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide unit, and a 2MP macro snapper. A 13MP front-facing camera sits inside the centered punch-hole.

Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, a MicroSD card slot, a USB Type-C port, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Android 11, a 5,000mAh battery, and 10W charging.

We first heard about the Motorola Moto G31 in September. A few days from that, the device leaked in real-life images via a certification agency. A little over a month later, the smartphone now appears in press renders.

The official renders of the Motorola Moto G31 have emerged along with key specifications. They come from the industry sources of 91Mobiles.

The images showcase the handset with a vertically aligned triple camera setup on the top left side of the rear panel. The Motorola ‘Batwing’ logo can be seen a little above the center with a slight indentation indicating an embedded fingerprint sensor.

Further, the power key, volume buttons, and the dedicated Google Assistant key reside on the right side. The front has a centered punch-hole display.

As per previous reports, the top side will house a 3.5mm headphone jack and a secondary microphone, while the left side will only consist of a SIM card slot. Whereas, the bottom part will include a primary microphone, a USB Type-C port, and a speaker grille.

According to the sources, the phone will arrive in two colors – black and blue. Interestingly, it is said to sport a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, which will be a huge upgrade over its predecessor Moto G30’s HD+ LCD panel.

Apart from the above-mentioned details, we know that the handset will bear model number XT2173 and will run Android 11. Lastly, it will be backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W charging.

The launch date of Moto G31 is still a mystery weeks after its first appearance on the internet.

Motorola unveiled the Moto G30 in mid-February. This means it has been only seven months since its announcement. But according to certifications, its successor dubbed as Moto G31 is just around the corner. The Lenovo-owned brand is known for refreshing its phones only a year after their release. Hence, this could be the first time there will be a new model of a Motorola smartphone within a year from the launch of its predecessor.

The upcoming Motorola Moto G31 from Lenovo with model number XT2173 has been certified by NBTC and WiFi Alliance. The former confirms that it will be a 4G-only handset, while the latter reveals that it will run Android 11 and will have support for dual-band WiFi. Additionally, the device has also been certified by EEC.

Other than the above-mentioned information, we know nothing about the Moto G31. Anyway, we can expect it to arrive with a set of features like the Moto G30.

For those unaware, the Motorola Moto G30 has a 6.5-inch HD+ 90Hz display (LCD), Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset, 64MP (wide) + 8MP (ultra-wide) + 2MP (macro) + 2MP (depth) quad-camera setup, 13MP selfie camera, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, IP53 rating, Android 11, 5,000mAh battery, and 20W fast charging.

Since the Moto G30 is also sold as Lenovo K13 Po, the upcoming Moto G31 might also debut as a Lenovo smartphone in some markets.
