The revised pricing takes effect immediately and touches both its budget and mid-range portfolio.

Over the past few months, smartphone makers have been dealing with higher component costs, currency fluctuations, and ongoing supply chain pressure. This in turn, is directly affecting consumers, and Motorola’s latest revision fits neatly into that pattern.

Motorola hikes Moto G and Edge series prices in India

The price hike affects three devices across the Moto G and Edge lineups, including the Moto G35, Moto G57 Power, and Motorola Edge 60 Fusion. The increases vary depending on the variant, but in most cases, buyers are now paying between Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 more than before.

For the Moto G35, the base 4GB + 128GB variant now costs Rs 12,499, up from Rs 11,999. The higher-end 8GB + 128GB version sees a steeper jump, going from Rs 12,999 to Rs 13,999.

The Moto G57 Power, a higher-end phone in Motorola’s budget lineup, has also seen price changes. Its 8GB + 128GB model now retails at Rs 15,999, compared to its earlier price of Rs 14,999.

The biggest increase is on the mid-range Motorola Edge 60 Fusion. The 8GB + 128GB variant now costs Rs 22,999 (up from Rs 20,999), while the 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB variants have climbed to Rs 24,999 and Rs 26,999, respectively.

For buyers, the right time to purchase a phone is getting harder to predict. Prices that were once stable for months are now more fluid, even for devices that have been on the market for a while.

The company has just updated the MFN Beta Testing page, showing that the Android 16 beta program is now open for four more devices: Edge 2024, Edge 40 Pro, Edge+ 2023, and Moto G35 5G. The beta program is available in select regions as mentioned in the following list:

• Motorola Edge+ 2023 – US

To get the Android 16 beta update, you need to submit an application to participate in the beta program. Once your application is approved, the Android 16 beta will be delivered to your Motorola phone via an OTA update.

Here’s how to participate in Motorola’s Android 16 beta program

1. Create an account on Motorola’s community website (if you haven’t already).
2. Visit the profile page and update your IMEI or serial number (SN) details.
3. Opt in for MFN on your Motorola community profile.
4. Always ensure that your phone is running the latest software.
5. Go to the MFN Beta Testing Opportunities page to see a testing opportunity for your Motorola device.
6. Tap on the registration link for your Motorola phone.
7. Fill in the required details and submit your application.

Poco C75 is the company’s most recent offering for the global market. The phone is a bit hefty at 204g weight and is a bit on the large side, with a 6.88-inch display (720 x 1640 resolution). But that extra real estate can be a plus if you watch a lot of videos. It also has a 120Hz refresh rate and 600 nits of brightness.

This phone is powered by the Mediatek Helio G81 Ultra (12nm), paired with 6GB or 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The latter can be expanded up to a terabyte via a microSD card.

It has a 5160mAh battery that should easily last a full day. The cell gets its juice back from 18W wired charging and surprisingly, for the price, the Poco C75 even has PD charging support. It has a 50MP main camera and a 13MP selfie camera.

Honor Play 9T

Honor’s Play 9T brings some premium touches to the budget space, making it a compelling option for those who prioritize battery life and design.

At 197g, the Play 9T feels robust, and its IP64 water and dust resistance adds an extra layer of reassurance. The 6.77-inch TFT LCD display offers a 120Hz refresh rate and decent colors, though its 720 x 1610 resolution isn’t the sharpest in the category. 

The phone runs on the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset (4nm), which is a step above many of its competitors in efficiency. The memory option includes 8GB or 12GB RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. 

This phone truly shines with its massive 6000mAh battery. It’ll easily last two days for average users, and the 35W wired charging is faster than most phones in this price range. 

Its dual-rear camera system includes a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP depth lens. On the front, there’s a basic 5MP selfie camera.

Motorola Moto G35 5G

Motorola’s budget offerings have long been about balance, and the Moto G35 5G is no different. It’s practical, reliable, and doesn’t try to do too much.

The three phones are the same as the ones released in China. However, it is worth noting that the base version has an extra rear camera (ultrawide unit).

Motorola will announce the price and availability of the Moto G35 in India on December 10 (Tuesday). The phone was unveiled in some markets a few months back.

It is built around a 6.72-inch 120Hz display (LCD). Under the hood, it houses a Unisoc T760 chip and a 5,000mAh battery which supports 18W charging.

Further, the handset comes with a 50MP main camera, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a dedicated MicroSD card slot.

Realme Neo 7

The Realme Neo 7 will be made official in China on December 11 (Wednesday). It will be the first non-GT Neo phone from the brand.

The handset will be run by a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 Plus SoC. It will draw power from a huge 7,000mAh battery and support 80W wired charging.

The device will sport a 6.78-inch 1.5K 120Hz LTPO and a 50MP + 8MP dual camera system. It will be available in three colors, such as black, white, and blue.

Vivo X200 Series

The Vivo X200 series is set to debut in India on December 12 (Thursday). There will be two phones: Vivo X200 and Vivo X200 Pro.

Both handsets are powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chip. However, the pro variant has a slightly larger display and a better camera system.

Only the 50MP ultrawide unit and the 32MP selfie camera are the same on the two. Otherwise, the Pro variant has a larger 50MP main sensor and the periscope telephoto shooter is a 3.7x 200MP unit instead of a 50MP 3x sensor.

Both support 90W wired charging but only the pro can charge wireless at 30W.
