Details of the fifth generation Moto G have been leaking non-stop for the past three weeks or thereabout. We have seen press photos, possible pricing and specification details form a part of these leaks. Today we get a Geekbench listing of the upcoming device.

The Motorola Moto G5 seen on Geekbench runs Android 7.0, has 2GB of RAM, and is equipped with a MSM8937 processor (Snapdragon 430) clocked at 1.4GHz. The device scores 594 points in the single-core test and 2350 points in the multi-core test.

The reason why we think this is the Moto G5 Play is because of the processor. Last year’s Moto G4 Play sports a Snapdragon 410 processor while the Moto G4 and G4 Plus both use the Snapdragon 617. Earlier leaks of the Moto G5 already mentioned that it will feature a Snapdragon 625 SoC. That means the Snapdragon 430 is the processor upgrade the Moto G5 Play is getting.

All three Moto G5 devices are expected to be unveiled on the 26th of February, a day before MWC kicks off and should be available in markets later in March.

Since then the rumor mill has been consistently leaked information and photos of the Moto G5 Plus. Roland Quandt, a known leakster has now revealed a leaked photo of the smartphone that suggests that it will be coming with a 5.2-inch display.

The Lenovo Moto G5 Plus leaked photo has alleged surfaced from Brazil. The protective plastic cover is placed on the device carries “Moto $$” moniker. Some of the key features of the smartphone is also mentioned on it.

According to what’s mentioned on the protective film, the alleged Moto G5 Plus would be arriving with a 5.2-inch full HD screen, a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor, a 12-megapixel Rapid focus camera, a fingerprint scanner and NFC support, a 3,000 mAh battery with TurboPower and Motorola Experience (can be exclusive apps from Motorola).

Moto G5 Plus is gonna be 5.2in it seems (at least in Brasil, incl DTV receiver) as on this photo from https://t.co/7gg30LFX4f pic.twitter.com/Eyxf0kCLoz

— Roland Quandt (@rquandt) February 8, 2017

Related: Moto G5 Plus Wallpaper and Ringtones Leaked, Downloadable Here

Previous rumors have revealed that 2.0 GHz octa-core processor belongs to the Snapdragon 625 chipset. Also, it is expected to come with other features such as 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB native storage and Android 7.0 Nougat OS.

Rumors have it that the smartphone would be coming with polycarbonate chassis. The variant that will be releasing in Brazil will be equipped with additional features like Digital TV tuner and dual SIM standby with support for only nano SIMs.

The Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus that were launched last year feature 5.5-inch displays. However, it is surprising to see the Moto G5 Plus sporting a 5.2-inch screen. The probable reason behind it may be that the Moto Z Play that is compatible with Moto Mods accessories feature a 5.5-inch display and it is also powered by Snapdragon 625 SoC.

By releasing the Moto G5 Plus with a smaller screen, Lenovo can avoid having two devices with identification specs. Another noticeable change in the leaked photo is the shape of the front-facing fingerprint reader. It seems to sport a different shape compared to fingerprint scanner available on the predecessor model.

The Moto G5 Plus is slated to get announced on Feb. 26, through a pre-MWC 2017 event. The Moto G5 featuring a 5-inch screen and a Snapdragon 430 SoC is expected to launch alongside it. The smartphones are expected to be buying by early next month.

Both the smartphones are expected to get unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017.

At the end of the previous week, the Moto G5 received certification from FCC (Federal Communications Commission) in the U.S. Its listing on FCC has revealed some of it specs. The smartphone will be equipped with a 3000 mAh battery enabled with Turbo Charging feature from Motorola.

The FCC documents have also revealed that the package of Moto G5 will also include a DTV Dongle television tuner that is compatible with Android devices. With NFC onboard, the smartphone will also carry support for Android Pay. A Brazilian blog has also revealed several details of Moto G5 that has a model number of XT1672.

It has a 5-inch screen that offers a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The device will be running on Snapdragon 430 chipset that will be coupled with 2 GB of RAM. It is expected to feature a native storage of 32 GB and it will also feature a microSD card slot. The Moto G5 is speculated to come loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat OS.

Its rear camera will be of 13-megapixel whereas its front-facing shooter will be of 5-megapixel. Even though the FCC listing has stated that Moto G5 has a 3,000 mAh battery, the Brazilian blog has reported that the smartphone will include a 2,800 mAh battery.

Speculations suggest that the larger battery belongs to Moto G5 and the smaller one is of Moto G5 Play. Both the smartphones are expected to come with similar specs. However, the Moto G5 is pegged to feature 3 GB of RAM.

The arrival of the smartphone is rumored to be drawing near as it is not only listed with FCC but also it has been approved from Brazil’s Anatel certification body.
