Motorola is clearly stepping up its software game. Just a day ago, it began the Android 17 beta program ahead of its competitors, and now, the beta program has just gone live for a new set of smartphones.

The Motorola Edge 2025, Moto G57, and Moto G57 Power were the first phones to join the Android 17 beta program. Now, it’s expanding to Moto G86, Moto G86 Power, Motorola Edge 60, Edge 60 Fusion, Edge 70, and Edge 70 Fusion in multiple regions.

If you have any of these Motorola smartphones and live in a supported region, you can sign up for the Android 17 beta program to get early access to the latest features and upgrades. However, that also means you’re ready to face bugs or broken features that may appear in beta builds.

Here’s how to sign up for Motorola’s Android 17 beta program

1. Create an account on Motorola’s community website (if you haven’t already).
2. Visit the profile page and update your IMEI or serial number (SN) details.
3. Opt in for MFN on your Motorola community profile.
4. Always ensure that your phone is running the latest software.
5. Go to the MFN Beta Testing Opportunities page to see a testing opportunity for your Motorola device.
6. Tap on the registration link for your Motorola phone.
7. Fill in the required details and submit your application.

Please keep in mind that Motorola may send emails regarding your beta application. So, remember to check your inbox regularly, including the spam folder.

Once your beta application is approved, you’ll receive an OTA update. It’s best to manually check for updates once in a while by navigating to Settings > System updates > Check for updates.

While the Android 17 beta program has gone live for several Motorola phones, the update rollout is yet to begin. Once that happens, we’ll learn about the new features and changes. Motorola has introduced the Moto G86 Power 5G in India, expanding its G series portfolio with a new 5G offering. First launched in May 2025, the device is built for solid performance, extended battery life, and a rugged design. It ships with Android 15 pre-installed.

Moto G86 Power 5G features

The Moto G86 Power 5G features a 6.67-inch 1.5K 10-bit pOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 4500 nits peak brightness. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. It runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 4nm processor with Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. The device has 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of internal storage, expandable up to 1TB via microSD.

The rear camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor (Sony LYT-600) with OIS and f/1.8 aperture, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide lens that also supports macro shots. On the front, it has a 32MP selfie camera with Quad Pixel technology and f/2.2 aperture.

It supports an in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, dual microphones, and USB Type-C audio. Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, and USB Type-C. The phone is IP68 and IP69 rated for dust and water resistance and carries MIL-STD 810H certification for durability.

Powering the device is a 6720mAh battery with support for 33W TurboPower fast charging. Motorola promises two major Android OS updates and four years of security patches.

The Moto G86 Power 5G is priced at ₹17,999 ($206) for the 8GB + 128GB model. It comes in Pantone Cosmic Sky, Pantone Golden Cypress, and Pantone Spellbound colours. Sales begin August 6 on Flipkart, motorola.in, and select offline stores. Launch offers include ₹1,000 off on select bank cards or ₹1,000 additional discount on exchange.

Moto G86 Power: When does it launch in India?

The company’s latest teaser confirmed that the Moto G86 Power will be arriving in India on 30th July 2025 at 12 PM IST. This is a mid range model from Motorola and packs some notable specs and features. While the brand has yet to confirm any official details, the global release does reveal all of its specs and features. This model sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, HDR10+ support, a 120Hz refresh rate, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, and a peak brightness of 4500 nits.

Under the hood, it is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 SoC, which is paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. A massive 6,720mAh battery pack powers the Moto G86 Power, with support for 30W wired fast charging. Motorola’s iconic vegan leather back panel returns on this model, along with an IP68/IP69 rating for water and dust resistance and MIL-STD 810H certification.

For optics, the rear has a 50MP Sony LYT600 main camera and an 8MP ultra wide angle lens, while the front has a 32MP selfie shooter. Motorola has introduced two new mid-range 5G smartphones, the Moto G86 5G and the Moto G86 Power 5G. Both phones focus on strong battery life, solid performance, and advanced display features.

The Moto G86 Power 5G packs a large 6720mAh battery, the biggest in the series, with support for 30W TurboPower charging. The regular Moto G86 5G features a 5200mAh battery and promises up to 41 hours of usage on a single charge.

Both models are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor and run on Android 15. The G86 5G comes with 8GB of RAM, expandable up to 24GB using virtual memory. The G86 Power 5G offers 512GB of uMCP storage, double the standard G86 5G’s 256GB.

The phones share the same 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2712 x 1220, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 10-bit color, HDR10+ support, and a peak brightness of 4500 nits. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, and both devices are IP68/IP69 rated with MIL-STD 810H certification.

On the camera front, both models include a 32MP front camera that supports 4K video. The G86 Power 5G’s rear camera setup includes a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide + macro camera. AI features such as Auto Night Vision, Gesture Capture, and Pro Mode are included.

Both are available in Chrysanthemum (red), Cypress (olive green), Spellbound (dark blue), and Cosmic Sky (lavender). Launch details for other regions are yet to be confirmed.

A new report from Android Headlines has revealed the Motorola Moto G86 Power 5G, showing the phone in four color options: Chrysanthemum (pale red), Cosmic Sky (lavender), Golden Cypress (olive green), and Spellbound (blue-gray). Each version has a different back texture. The Spellbound model uses eco leather, while the others have textured plastic, with Cosmic Sky resembling fabric.

The phone looks almost the same as the Moto G86 but is slightly thicker and heavier due to its bigger battery. It has a flat 6.67-inch pOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2712 x 1220 resolution, and Gorilla Glass 7i protection. It features a flat frame, a flat backplate, and a seamless camera island in the top-left corner. The power and volume buttons are on the right side, and there is Dolby Atmos branding at the top. The front has a small punch-hole camera and thin, uneven bezels.

The Moto G86 Power 5G runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip. It will come in 8GB and 12GB RAM options, with 128GB or 256GB storage, both expandable. It will ship with Android 15 and receive two years of OS updates and four years of bi-monthly security patches.

On the back, the phone has a 50MP main camera with Sony’s LYTIA 600 sensor (f/1.88, OIS) and an 8MP macro camera (f/2.2, 1.12µm). The front camera is 32MP (f/2.2, 0.7µm). The standout feature is the 6,720mAh battery, which brings the phone’s weight to 198g. It measures 161.21 x 74.74 x 8.65mm and supports 33W TurboPower charging. There is no wireless charging.

It is rated IP68, IP69, and MIL-STD-810H for water, dust, and drop resistance. Other features include dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Bluetooth 5.4, and both single and dual SIM versions depending on the region. Motorola has not yet announced a launch timeline. Meanwhile, specifications and renders of the Moto G86 5G have surfaced, suggesting that both the standard and Power models may launch together.
