<p>Back in August 2024, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/08/03/apple-airtag-rival-moto-tag-launched/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Motorola announced the new Moto Tag</a> that arrived as an alternative to the Apple AirTag. Now, it appears that this smart tracker is also heading to the Indian market, which is a key region for the brand. So here&#8217;s what we know.</p>

<h2>Moto Tag India Launch Date</h2>

<p>In an official teaser poster, the brand announced that the Motorola Tag will go on sale in India on 23rd April 2025 at 12 PM IST. This model will arrive in two color options, namely Starlight Blue and Jade Green. This smart tracker has also been listed on the brand&#8217;s official Indian website and Flipkart. Motorola has even revealed the pricing for this device, which is set at 2,299 INR or roughly 27 US Dollars. This makes it slightly cheaper than its global pricing. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="706" height="582" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag.png?x44794" alt="Motorola Moto Tag" class="wp-image-643017" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag.png 706w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag-300x247.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag-696x574.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag-509x420.png 509w" sizes="(max-width: 706px) 100vw, 706px" /><figcaption>Moto Tag</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Based on the earlier release, the Moto Tag carries a lightweight and compact design that measures 31.9mm x 8mm in dimensions and weighs 7.5 grams. Its smart tag achieves this thanks to its plastic build, which is also IP67 rated for water and dust resistance. The Moto Tag supports Bluetooth 5.4 and UWB (Ultrawide Band), with a Bluetooth connectivity range of up to 100 meters. </p>

<p>Motorola&#8217;s new smart tracker houses a replaceable battery with a total battery life of up to 1 year. There is even a dedicated button on this tiny gadget, which allows it to act as a camera remote and even help you find your lost mobile devices. For those unaware, the smart tag is a simple device that serves as a tracker for any items it is attached to. So using your smartphone, one can find their misplaced items like wallets, keys, bags, and much more.</p>

<p>The Moto Tag Bluetooth tracker was unveiled as <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/motorola">Motorola</a>&#8216;s alternative to the Apple AirTag. The Moto Tag is now available for purchase after its introduction in June.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="706" height="582" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag.png?x44794" alt="Motorola Moto Tag" class="wp-image-643017" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag.png 706w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag-300x247.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag-696x574.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag-509x420.png 509w" sizes="(max-width: 706px) 100vw, 706px" /></figure></div>

<p>The Moto Tag was announced alongside the Motorola Razr and Razr+ smartphones, which also became available last week. The Bluetooth tracker is compatible with most AirTag accessories and works with Google’s FMD network for Android devices.</p>

<p>The Moto Tag functions similarly to most of the other Bluetooth trackers currently on the market. You can attach the Moto Tag to a wallet, luggage, key, or any valuable and moveable product. It ensures that your valuables are always within reach. The Moto Tag however comes with more functionality than a typical Bluetooth tracker. It can be configured such that pressing the button on the tag rings your phone. Motorola has also made the device a remote camera shutter and this feature is compatible with any Android smartphone or tablet. This allows the user to easily take selfie pics without needing to set a timer with the more powerful rear cameras of your phone.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="794" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag-12-1024x794.webp?x44794" alt="Motorola Moto Tag" class="wp-image-643016" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag-12-1024x794.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag-12-300x232.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag-12-768x595.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag-12-1536x1190.webp 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag-12-2048x1587.webp 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag-12-696x539.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag-12-1068x828.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag-12-1920x1488.webp 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/moto-tag-12-542x420.webp 542w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>The Moto Tag supports fast and seamless pairing with devices using Quick Pair. Once the accessory is switched on and is near your phone, you will have the Quick Pair page on the screen to connect it. The Moto Tag is rated IP67, hence it can withstand dust and survive under up to one meter of water for up to 30 minutes. The new Motorola Moto Tag comes with a CR2032 battery that can power the device for up to a year.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/motorola/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Motorola </a>has just launched a new smart tracker that will rival the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-airtag/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Apple AirTags </a>for Android devices. It is aptly dubbed the Moto Tag and it arrives with support for UWB tech and Google&#8217;s network as well to help find your tagged items with ease.</p>

<h2>Moto Tag: What makes it special? </h2>

<p>The company announced the Moto Tag with enhanced precision thanks to support for the Ultra Wideband technology (UWB). So smartphones that also come with UWB tech can take advantage of this. An example is the brand&#8217;s very own <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-edge-50-ultra/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Edge 50 Ultra</a>. It is worth noting that the integration with the Find My Device app won&#8217;t be available at launch and will arrive in a future update. Similar to the Apple AirTag, the Moto Tag has a circular body that also houses a multifunction button.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="720" height="480" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Moto-Tag.webp?x44794" alt="Moto Tag" class="wp-image-634391" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Moto-Tag.webp 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Moto-Tag-300x200.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Moto-Tag-696x464.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Moto-Tag-630x420.webp 630w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></figure></div>

<p>This serves the purpose of ringing a paired smartphone and taking pictures remotely. Motorola has placed an emphasis on privacy with the Moto Tag, which uses end-to-end encryption on the Google Find My Device network. In other words, your location data should remain private. For added security, it offers alerts to users regarding an unknown tracker along with manual scans. The body of the Moto Tag comes with an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, making it durable enough for outdoor use.</p>

<p>Thanks to Google Fast Pair, the setup process is convenient, while the Moto Tag app offers functions like battery monitoring and alert volumes. Motorola claims that its smart tracker has a year long battery life. The CR2032 battery cell is also replaceable. The Moto Tag is set to launch in select markets for a 29 US Dollar price tag for one, while a pack of four costs 99 US Dollars. It is listed in two color options, namely Blue and Green variants. The brand will release the smart tracker on 2nd August 2024.</p>

<p>Motorola <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/06/24/heres-how-to-watch-motorola-razr-50-series-launch-event/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">is about to launch the Razr 50 series</a> foldables on June 25th. But before that it has been revealed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification website that the company is also keeping its focus on different product categories at the same time. The listing is about a tracking device called the Moto Tag. The listing also reveals some of the technical details about the Moto Tag. So if you&#8217;re interested, let&#8217;s take a look at some of the details about the product.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="645" height="528" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Moto-Tag-1.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-633900" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Moto-Tag-1.png 645w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Moto-Tag-1-300x246.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Moto-Tag-1-513x420.png 513w" sizes="(max-width: 645px) 100vw, 645px" /></figure>

<h2>Motorola is working on an iteration of the tracking device it launched back in 2017</h2>

<p>The Moto Tag will support Bluetooth LE connectivity and will equip a 3V battery (CR2032) with a capacity of 210mAh to power the system. For reference, the popular Apple AirTag equips the same CR2032 coin cell battery and offers a battery life of 12 to 18 months.</p>

<p>The tracking device from <a href="https://www-gizmochina-com.webpkgcache.com/doc/-/s/www.gizmochina.com/category/motorola/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Motorola</a> comes with the model number &#8211; XT2445-1. While the listing does not include much information about the product, it hints that the launch is around the corner.</p>

<p>Alongside FCC and SGS certification platforms, the Moto Tag has also surfaced on UAE&#8217;s TDRA certification platform earlier this month confirming its release in the UAE.</p>

<p>Notably, Motorola previously entered this product category, launching its first tracking device in 2017. While the new tracking device comes with the same battery as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-airtag/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Apple AirTag</a>, we will need to see how power efficient and reliable Motorola manages to make the new Moto Tag.</p>
