Motorola’s Edge series is quite popular among consumers. The company recently unveiled the latest Moto Edge (2022), which bagged the title of being the first smartphone powered by the Dimensity 1050 SoC. Now, it seems Motorola is gearing up to bring new Edge series smartphones into the wild on September 8.

Motorola recently posted a short video teaser on its official Twitter handle which hints at the launch of three new Edge series smartphones. The company posted the teaser with the caption “Find yourself closer to the edge…September 8”. This confirms that new Motorola phones are definitely arriving on September 8. However, the teaser didn’t give us the names or any other details of the upcoming smartphones.

Motorola may bring the newly launched Moto X30 Pro and Moto S30 Pro to the global market as rebranded Edge series smartphones. In fact, there are already rumors that S30 Pro will debut in the global market as Moto Edge 30 fusion.

To recall, Moto X30 Pro has a 6.73-inch pOLED curved display and offers a 144Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it is equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. Its main highlight is the camera setup. Motorola just held its highly anticipated launch event, which was delayed back on August 2. During this conference, the company announced three new smartphone models, which also included the latest flagship model, the Moto X30 Pro. So let’s have a look at its specs, features, and pricing.

Design & Display

Even prior to its official announcement, the Moto X30 Pro model had its entire design revealed. It arrives with a curved edge on either sides of the rear panel, which also houses a large camera module that features the three image sensors. Meanwhile, the front has a center aligned punch hole camera. The right side of the Edge X30 has a power button and a volume rocker while the bottom has a USB Type C port, a speaker grill, and the SIM slot.

On the front, the device sports a 6.73 inch pOLED display that has a Full HD+ resolution and a 144Hz high refresh rate. Notably, this panel also has curved edges on the sides, which isn’t common nowadays. It also is equipped with an in display fingerprint scanner for security. This panel is surrounded by minimal bezels on all sides.

Specifications

This camera also features an all new Chameleon Cell technology, a pixel binning technology that uses a two by two, four by four, or full pixel layout depending on the environment.

The X30 Pro brings a full RAW domain primary color vision and native support for all camera sensors as well. The sensor can even take videos at 8K resolution at 30fps with minimal loss of field in view. Talking about the other two sensors, the first is a 50 megapixel ultra wide angle lens that is paired with a 12 megapixel telephoto shooter. Meanwhile, the front packs a 60 megapixel selfie camera.

Pricing

The Motorola X30 Pro is a premium grade handset that does not break the bank. It starts from 3,699 Yuan (roughly 549 US Dollars) for its base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model. The higher end 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant costs 4,199 Yuan (roughly 623 US Dollars) while the top end 12GB + 512GB model costs 4,499 Yuan (roughly 668 US Dollars). Interestingly, the company will offer the smartphone for an introductory price tag that is 200 Yuan cheaper for every storage configuration. Motorola was supposed to launch the Motorola Razr 2022 along with the Moto X30 Pro and Moto S30 Pro at a launch event on August 2nd. However, the event got postponed to August 11th. So here’s how you can watch the event live from the comfort of your home.

The Motorola Razr 2022 and the Moto X30 Pro will launch in the Chinese market first, therefore, the event will not be broadcasted on Youtube. Instead, the event will be live on Weibo and the company’s website on August 8th in China at 2 PM local time (7 PM GMT, 11:30 AM IST). Motorola had initially planned to launch its new flagship phones on Aug. 2 in China. The Lenovo-owned brand had to cancel the event for some unknown reason. Recent teasers released by the brand hinted that the company would reschedule the event on Aug. 11 in China. Today, Motorola released an official confirmation that it will be announcing three devices, namely, the Moto X30 Pro, the Moto S30 Pro, and the Razr 2022 clamshell phone, at 2 pm (local time) on Aug. 11 in the home market.

Moto X30 Pro specifications (expected)

The Moto X30 Pro will have a 6.8-inch OLED FHD+ 144Hz display, a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Moto S30 Pro will arrive with a 6.55-inch OLED FHD+ display. It will feature the Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It will pack a 4,720mAh battery with 68.2W fast charging support. The camera configurations of the S30 Pro are under wraps. It is likely to be rebranded as the Motorola Edge 30 Fusion.

Motorola is expected to hold a launch event on Aug. 11 in China. The event will see the arrival of three devices, such as the Moto X30 Pro, the Moto S30 Pro, and the Moto Razr 2022. It is already known that the Moto X30 Pro will be debuting as the world’s first 200-megapixel camera phone. Recently, the device appeared in the database of the TENAA certification platform with all its major specs. However, the listing did not reveal accurate information on the cameras of the device. For the past few days, the X30 Pro has been available on JD.com for reservations. The updated page available on the retailer site has revealed the configurations of the front and rear cameras of the smartphone.

Motorola recently made the Moto X30 Pro official. The smartphone will be launched very soon in China with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and super-realistic imaging capabilities. Ahead of the launch, the Lenovo-owned company has revealed the AnTuTu benchmarking score of the X30 Pro. Surprisingly, it’s higher than any other Android smartphone in the market. It even surpassed the Xiaomi 12S Pro which scored 1,113,135 points.

Chen Jin, Lenovo China’s General Manager of Mobile department, took to Weibo to reveal the AnTuTu scorecard of the upcoming Moto X30. According to Jin, the overall AnTuTu score of the handset is 1,114,761 and that’s really high. For reference, it’s higher than the Xiaomi 12S Pro which scored 1,113,135 points. 12S Pro is also powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Soc.

Moto X30 Pro’s scored higher than any Android phone we’ve seen so far. It is even higher than gaming phones which are said to be the pinnacle of performance. Speaking of gaming phones, Asus ROG Phone 6 is going to launch tomorrow, let’s see if it can beat the X30 Pro’s score.
