Moto X4, an all-glass smartphone from Lenovo‘s Motorola that was launched in August last year, has now started receiving the Android 9 Pie update in India. The over-the-air (OTA) update is around 1.1GB in size and carries build number PPW29.69-17.

When launched, the phone was running Android 7 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box and received the Android 8.1 Oreo update earlier this year. The new Android Pie update is the second major update for the Moto X4.

It is likely that the new update is being rolled out in phases, so you may have to wait a couple of days to receive the update if you haven’t already. To install the update, go to Settings > About device > Software update > Check for update.

The Android Pie update should bring several new features to the year-old Moto X4, including the new gesture navigation, App Actions, App Slices support, Adaptive Battery, Digital Wellbeing, Dark Mode, among others.

The Moto X4 flaunts a 5.2-inch LTS IPS Full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels screen resolution and pixel density of 424ppi. Under the hood, the phone is powered by QualcommSnapdragon 630 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz.

It comes in three models — 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage, 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage, and 6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage. There’s a 12MP + 8MP camera on the back and an 8MP front-facing shooter.

The phone supports Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C port, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, GPS, and GLONASS. The IP68 certified device is powered by a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging support.

Apart from Moto X4, the company has also promised Android Pie update for the Moto Z3, Z3 Play, Moto Z2 Force Edition, Moto Z2 Play, Moto G6, G6 Play, and G6 Plus. The Motorola One Power was recently spotted running Android Pie, so its safe to assume that the company will soon roll out Android Pie for the One Power.

Earlier this week, the unannounced Motorola One Power Android One smartphone was spotted in a leaked render. Today, a new image showing of what appears to be a real One Power phone has appeared on SlashLeaks.

The text “Motorola Confidential Property. Not for Sale” that is mentioned in very tiny letters in the bottom bezel suggests that it could be a prototype of the Motorola One Power. The leaked render of the phone that had surfaced earlier this week had revealed that the bottom bezel will carry “motorola” branding.

The Motorola One Power borrows its notched display design from the Apple iPhone X. Most of the other iPhone X inspired Android smartphones feature smaller notch, except for the newly unveiled Xiaomi Mi 8 series. The iPhone X and Mi 8 Explorer Edition have complex structured light 3D module for 3D facial recognition. The Mi 8 and Mi 8 SE also have wider notch, but they feature infrared face unlock and other components. There is no information available on why Motorola has included a larger notch on the One Power phone.

The new leak does not reveal the posterior of the phone. However, the previously spotted render reveals that it borrows vertical dual camera setup like the iPhone X. The back panel of the phone also features a fingerprint reader.

The specifications of the Motorola One Power handset are yet to appear. Rumors from the beginning of this year had claimed that the Moto X5 will be arriving as the successor for Moto X4 which is the first Android One phone from Motorola. However, recent reports have claimed that the Lenovo-owned company may have cancelled the Moto X5. Hence, it is now being speculated that the Motorola One Power could be some sort of sequel for Moto X4.

As of this writing, there is no information available on the launch date of the Motorola One Power. Most of the Motorola phones have launched in the recent years have Moto branding. After a long time, we may soon see a Motorola phone without Moto branding.

According to Android Headlines, the Motorola One Power will be hitting the market as Android One smartphone.

As it can be seen in the image below, the official render does not contain “moto” branding. This indicates that the Motorola branding may finally return after a long break.

Like the Moto X4 Android One smartphone from last year, it will be an Android One device that will enjoy faster software updates. Also, it could be the first Android One smartphone to arrive in the U.S. The handset is also likely to release in other markets.

There is no information available on the specifications of the Motorola One Power smartphone. However, its leaked photo reveals that its has a notched display design. Compared to other Android devices that have adopted the notched design from the iPhone X, the Motorola One Power seems to be featuring a wider notch. The bezel lying below the display has the “motorola” branding.

The rear side of the phone has a vertical dual camera setup at the top-left corner. Its LED flash is placed below the camera module. The back panel also features “M” batwing logo that could be embedded with a fingerprint scanner.

At the beginning of this year, the rumor mill had revealed that Lenovo will be launching Moto X5 smartphone with iPhone X-like notched screen this year as a successor for the Moto X4 smartphone. However, reports that appeared in the past few months have suggested that Lenovo has no plans to release the Moto X5.  Could this be because the Moto X5 might be rebranded as Motorola One Power? The publication claims that it may not be the case as there are some differences in the design of One Power and the leaked Moto X5. The main difference is that the Moto X5 was rumored to arrive with round-shaped camera module with horizontally arranged dual camera setup while the One Power has vertical dual rear cameras. Motorola’s Moto X4 Android One version was recently reported to start receiving the latest Android Oreo update via over-the-air (OTA) push in the US. That update is about now rolling out to users of the Moto X4 Android One edition, according to a Reddit post.

Earlier, the Lenovo-owned company had promised to roll out the Android Oreo for the Moto X4 Android One edition by the end of this year. Guess users won’t have to wait for too long. Already, some users have started getting the update on their phones with the firmware number OPW28.46-3.  The update also comes with the March 1 security patch. As would be recalled, the Moto X4 comes in an Android One version as well as a standard version. The standard version may likely get the update to Android 8.1 soon. 

The Moto X4 Android One edition was unveiled for Google’s Project Fi in the US at $399. Notably, it is the first non-Google phone to join Project-Fi network, which was previously exclusive to the Pixel and Nexus devices. At the time of the launch, the company promised that the Moto X4 Android One edition will be “among the first to receive the Android P update.”

Specs wise, the device features a 5.2-inch Full HD display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass on top for added protection. The X4 is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The phone comes with a dual camera setup at the back, featuring a 12-megapixel lens and an 8-megapixel lens. There is a front-facing camera of 16-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash.

The Moto X4 originally launched for $399 in the US, though it comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. This year alone, we have seen it sell for $349 but now you can pick it up for just $299 or $16.67/month. This is $100 off its launch price.

That’s not the cheapest you can get it. There are two versions of the Moto X4 in the US. The one above is the original variant with Amazon Alexa pre-installed. The second variant is an Android One version sold on the Project Fi Network. The latter can be bought for $249 or $10.38 for 24 months. That is $150 off its original list price.

So depending on the one you go for, you can save $100 or $150. The official Moto site says the deal (non-Android one) lasts till March 3. There is no info as to how long the Project Fi variant will remain at that price.

The Moto X4 has a 5.2” 1920 x 1080 display and is powered by the Snapdragon 630 processor. It has dual rear cameras (12MP + 8MP) and a 16MP front facing camera with its own LED flash.

Through the official Lenovo forum, a Motorola representative has confirmed that the roll out of Android 8.0 Oreo has stared for Moto X4 users in the U.S. However, all the users won’t be able to see the update at the same time. So, it will take a few days for the OTA update to be available to all users in the U.S.

Few months ago, Motorola had confirmed the Oreo update would be made available to 13 smartphones. The list includes Moto Z, Z Droid, Z Force Droid, Z Play, Z Play Droid, Z2 Play, Z2 Force, X4, G5, G5 Plus, G5S, G5S Plus and Moto G4 Plus.

Google’s mobile virtual network – Project Fi is offering Nexus 5X owners on its network a new replacement option. Initially, users had complained about the Nexus 5X. Rather than offer a replacement unit, Google provided a $100 Google Play Store credit or a $53 cheque.

Android Police reports that Google is now offering owners of faulty Nexus 5Xs an Android One Moto X4 instead. However, those willing to change will still have to pay a $69 replacement fee. One user already reported that he got the Moto X4 as a replacement.

New users on the other hand will have to pay $299 for the Moto X4 instead of $399 or $324 as at two weeks ago.

The Moto X4 packs a 5.2” FHD display with Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a Snapdragon 630 processor, has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage.

Last year, Motorola revived its Moto X lineup of smartphones. Now, it has been confirmed that the series is here to stay. Apparently, the successor of Moto X4 is already in works and has been named as Moto X5.

The Moto X4 sports an exquisite design that feature glass panels on its front and rear sides with a metallic frame placed in between. Lenovo-owned Motorola is gearing up to launch its new smartphone in the Indian market — Moto X4 on November 13. The company has now confirmed that the smartphone will be exclusively available via online retailer Flipkart in India.

Flipkart has already created a special landing page for the Moto X4 smartphone launch and mentions the 4 ‘Es’ — Extraordinary, Exceptional, Excellent and Exquisite. The media invite that Motorola sent out last week includes a large X logo followed by a hashtag #ExperiencePerfection. It further reads, “Experience ‘perfection’ crafted into a smartphone as Motorola brings to you the new Moto X4”.

Fresh information shared by reliable tipster Roland Quandt reveals that HTC will soon announce the HTC U11 Life as its first Android One phone. He claims that the smartphone will be unveiled alongside the HTC U11 Plus flagship phone on Nov. 2.

Citing unnamed source, Quandt has revealed the entire specifications of the HTC U11 Life. He claims that it will be featuring a 5.2-inch Full HD resolution supporting display. The screen will be shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass. The bottom bezel of the phone will have a fingerprint sensor embedded Home button that will be placed between the two capacitive buttons.

Last month, Motorola announced its first Android One smartphone, Moto X4. The mid-range smartphone also became the first non-Nexus or Pixel device to officially work on Project Fi.

Already available on a pre-order basis, the shipment of the Moto X4 was expected to being sometime this week. However, the first Android One device in the US has now been delayed due to production issues.

The company has sent an email to those customers who pre-ordered the phone. In the email, it states that Motorola has experienced production delays with the X4. Thus, units won’t ship until later this month — between October 18th and 25th.

The email further mentions that if the customer has opted for trading-in an older smartphone, they still have the full 30 days to send it in after they receive the Moto X4.

While the delivery of pre-ordered devices has been delayed by about one week, newly placed orders, starting today, will start shipping much later. It appears that the customers who opt for standard delivery will have their devices shipped in November.

Originally launched at IFA in late August, the Moto X4 comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p Full HD display. Under the hood, it is powered by a Snapdragon 630 processor, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage that is expandable via microSD.

There is a dual-camera setup on the back. While one lens is of 12-megapixel, the other one is of 8-megapixel. Both sensors are combined for depth effects and other creative options. On the front, there is a 16-megapixel snapper.The smartphone is IP68 certified for dust and water resistance.

The Moto X4 was announced a week ago in Berlin at IFA. It marks the revival of the X series which used to be Motorola’s flagship but was replaced with the Moto Z last year.

Although it is no longer a flagship phone, the specs of the Moto X4 put it firmly in the upper mid-range category. It has a 5.2-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM and is powered by the Snapdragon 630 processor. It also has an IP68 rating, dual rear cameras, and a premium glass body. And let’s not forget, like other Motorola phones, it runs stock Android with some Moto additions.

Now why would Google want to put stock Android on a device that already runs stock Android? Beats us as it feels redundant. The only plausible reason is that the Android One Moto X4 will be available in countries and regions where the Xiaomi Mi A1 isn’t such as the US, Canada, Brazil and West Africa.

It has been a long time waiting for the official launch of the Moto X4. And tonight, Lenovo (Motorola) has finally made it official. The launch of the Moto X4 can be termed the resurrection of the X series, but after a one year hiatus, things are no longer the same.

Moto X4 Design

The Moto X4 has completely veered of the design path of its predecessors. No longer does it wear the polycarbonate body we were free to customize to our desire using Moto Maker. Instead, it is now cloaked in metal and glass – that is a metallic frame sandwiched in between two sheets of glass.

The design language isn’t too different from what we have seen in other Motorola phones released this year. The front employs the same style – a pill-shaped home button/fingerprint scanner, thick bezels at the top bearing the usual array of camera sensor, earpiece and LED flash; and an equally thick bezel at the bottom.

The power button and volume rocker (split into separate buttons are on the right) and a hybrid dual SIM card slot (nano only) is on the left. There is a dual camera setup on the back with a familiar design. The entire back is covered with a 3D glass that you already know is a fingerprint magnet.

Moto X4 Specifications

Moto X4 Cameras

One of the key features of the Moto X4 is the dual rear cameras. Sitting inside the circular housing with a watch-dial design is a 12MP dual autofocus lens with a f/2.0 aperture and 1.4um pixel size, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens with a f/2.2 aperture and a 1.12um pixel size.

This configuration allows for ultra-wide angle images but can also take images with depth of field effects. There are additional camera features such as selective black and white, background replacement and landmark recognition. Sitting above the sensors is a dual LED flash.

The front facing camera is a 16MP f/2.0 sensor with LED flash. It has a beautification mode, panorama mode and a professional mode. It also has an adaptive low light mode.

Moto X4 Pricing and Availability

The Moto X4 comes in two colors – Super Black and Sterling Blue. It is priced at 399 Euros ($475) for the 3GB version. Pricing for the 4GB RAM version has not been disclosed.

A new promotional video of the Moto Z2 Force has been added to the official US account of Motorola. The video that is titled as “World’s Largest Phone Drop” shows more than 100 employees testing the survival ability of the Moto Z2 Force by dropping it from shoulder height.

The 34-second video begins with the message that 100+ employees of Motorola Chicago to show even if the Moto Z2 Force falls, there is no need to fear about it. The smartphone can be seen dropping from knee height in the initial part of the video and later on it can be seen falling from shoulder height.

The Moto Z2 Force has a metallic unibody chassis that is made from aluminum 7000 series. Even though it has a thickness of 6.1mm, it is 80 percent stronger than the predecessor model. The so-called ShatterShield display of the Moto Z2 Force features polymer-OLED (P-OLED)that does not break easily even if it falls multiple times as it can absorb shock. The display tends to flex when the Z2 Force is dropped.

One of the drawbacks of Z2 Force’s ShatterShield display is that even it is shatterproof, it can get scratched easily. Repeated instances of scratching have made Motorola to encourage the users of Moto Z2 Force to purchase a screen protector.

A funny thing about this video is that it only shows the Z2 Force dropping from different heights. However, it does not actually show whether the smartphone is working condition after the fall. There is a possibility that the display of the phone could have scratched or the body of the phone could have damaged.

The Motorola Moto X4 has been recently certified by Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the U.S. and it has been also approved by Brazil’s Anatel agency.

A 5.2-inch AMOLED display is expected to be available on the Moto X4 that will produce full HD resolution. The Snapdragon 630 chipset is expected to power this smartphone. In the U.S., it is expected to arrive with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. There will be another model featuring 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of native storage. It will come preloaded with Android Nougat.

A dual camera module featuring a 12-megapixel RGB sensor and a 12-megapixel monochrome sensor is expected to be present on the rear side of the phone. The frontside may feature a 16-megapixel snapper. It is expected to house a 3,000mAh battery. The smartphone is rumored to sport an impressive IP68 certified chassis and it will be coming in color choices like Sterling Blue, Gold and Super Black.

According to well-known leakster, Roland Quandt, the Moto X4 would be hitting the European markets with a pricing of 350 euros (~$419). Another leakster claims that the 32 GB and 64 GB Moto X4 would be arriving with a respective price tag of $349 and $399 in North America. It this is true, it would be cheapest Moto X series smartphone from Motorola. By the way, all the predecessor Moto X phones were flagship devices. However, the Moto X4 will be a mid-range phone.

Motorola was expected to debut the Moto X4 on Aug. 24, but it did not happen so. However, its soon arrival cannot be ruled out as the device has just got certified by Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the U.S. The FCC certification has revealed the entire specifications of the Motorola Moto X4.

The model number of the U.S. variant of the Moto X4 is XT-1900-1 and IHDT56WK1 is its FCC ID. The handset will arrive with a 5.2-inch AMOLED screen that will produce a full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. The screen will be protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The Snapdragon 630 chipset will be powering it with its octa-core chip and Adreno 508 graphics along with 4 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The native storage of the smartphone is 64 GB. There will be an external storage slot that will support up to 256 GB of microSD card.

Through the leaked renders of the Moto X4, it has been revealed that the smartphone will be sporting a pair of cameras on its rear panel. The FCC listing has revealed that the dual rear camera setup will include a RGB 12-megapixel sensor and a monochrome 12-megapixel sensor. This suggests that the smartphone would be able to snap impressive shots in low-light conditions. The frontside of the Moto X4 will feature a 16-megapixel wide angle sensor. Renders of the smartphone have revealed that the rear cameras will be coupled with a dual-tone dual-LED flash and there will be an LED flash for the selfie snapper too.

The Moto X4 will include a non-removable 3,000mAh battery with 25W Turbo charging support. It will arrive preloaded with Android Nougat OS.

Previous reports have revealed that it would be coming with a IP68 certified dust and water-resistant body and the FCC documents reveal that it measures 148 x 73mm. The handset is expected to be available in color choices like Sterling Blue, Gold and Super Black and previous rumors have revealed that it would be available in the Europe with a price tag of 350 euros (~$413).

Lenovo has confirmed that it would be holding a pre-IFA 2017 press conference on Aug. 31. However, Motorola does not have any upcoming launch event. Hence, there is a possibility that Lenovo may surprise us all by showcasing the Moto X4 at the end of this month.

Homatelecom, an official distributor of Motorola Mobility and Lenovo in Iran has revealed two images of the what appears to be Moto X4 smartphone. The alleged smartphone is expected to get unveiled on Thursday this week.

The first image shows the backside of the alleged Moto X4 with its dual cameras and the M logo. The two camera lenses can be sitting in a horizontal design inside a circular camera housing along with dual-LED flash. The previous images of the Moto X4 have revealed that the smartphone features a glossy body. However, the alleged Moto X4 in the new images shared by Homatelecom appears to have a matte finish. The smartphone does not feature pins for connecting MotoMods accessories.

The other image shows the smartphone sitting on a stand alongside a brochure of the phone. The image shows a card that lists the specifications of the alleged Moto X4. It reveals that it will be a dual SIM smartphone that will come with support for nano-sized SIM cards and dual stand-by.

It features a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display that supports a full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and a pixel density of 424 ppi. The listing does not clearly mention the name of the chipset present inside the phone. However, it reveals that the phone is powered by Cortex A53 octa-core processor that features a 2.2 GHz. It seems that the smartphone is driven by Snapdragon 630 chipset. It features an internal storage of 32 GB and it will be coming in 3 GB and 4 GB RAM variants.

The specs sheet does not mention another storage model for the Moto X4.  Rumors have revealed that the Moto X4 would be also available in 64 GB model. It is likely that Iran may not be receiving the 64 GB Moto X4.

It features 12-megapixel dual rear cameras sensors that is coupled with features like autofocus, touch focus, face detection, panorama, auto HDR and full HD video shooting at 30 fps. The frontside of the smartphone features 16-megapixel camera that also supports full HD video recording at 30 fps. It will be packed with a 3,000mAh battery.

Motorola has confirmed that it would be holding a launch event on Aug. 24 in Brazil. Speculations have it that the Moto X4 would be getting official at the upcoming launch event.

Motorola has released a phone for nearly all its series save for two, the X and the M series. Although the Moto M series was created just last year and has only device, folks are more excited about the Moto X series. Up until 2015, the Moto X was Motorola’s flagship line and has now been replaced by the Moto Z. After a one year break, Lenovo is bringing back the series with the Moto X4.

The Moto X4 will launch as an upper mid-range smartphone, boasting features found in flagships. It will have a metal and glass body, dual rear cameras and even an IP68 rating. The release date for the Moto X4 is put at August 24. Just a few days before that, live photos of the device have been posted online.

The variant in the images is navy blue and looks pretty good. The first image shows the front of the device. The Moto X4 has a pill-shaped home button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner. It also has on-screen buttons. The UI is nearly stock Android like other Moto phones.

The back is a little more exciting as we can see the dual rear cameras. The camera housing is similar to that of the other Moto phones released this year with its circular but raised design. The sensors are positioned side by side and the LED flash is at the top.

Beneath the cameras lie the Moto logo under a layer of glass that is curved at the sides.

The Moto X4 will launch with 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM, and a Snapdragon 630 SoC. There will also be a 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM model. It will have a 3,000mAh battery and run Android Nougat. Lenovo’s Motorola is expected to launch a number of smartphones this year and one of the phones expected is the Moto X4. The Moto X4 commands some level of interest due to the fact that the X series hasn’t had a new addition since 2015  and from earlier leaked photos, the X4 promises to come with a sleek design. We now have a more distinct photo of the X4 showing the device both from the front and back.

The Moto X4 is a mid-range device but the photo in question shows a well-designed, premium look that I dare say resembles a flagship model. The design is patently Motorola’s as it resembles what the company had done in the past with the front physical home button which will double as a fingerprint sensor, a common feature on almost all Moto models. The exception thing on the design is the rear camera. At the rear, the device features a unique camera design where there is a dual camera setup with the cameras and flash lying inside a round enclosure which protrudes from the body forming a slight bump at the rear. The dual cameras are in a horizontal alignment with the LED flash sitting at the top in between the two cameras.

The Moto X4 is expected to come with a metal body and the specs have already been revealed to include a 5.2-inch Full HD display with Gorilla Glass protection. The device is expected to feature a Snapdragon 630 processor and that would be backed by a 3GB RAM with 32GB storage. Some models will have 4GB RAM + 64GB storage onboard. There are speculations that the device will pack a Snapdragon 660 chip but that may likely not happen. The Moto X4 will also be IP68 dust and water resistant.

Other expected specifications include a 16MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1.0µm pixel size, which Motorola touts as capable of shooting 4k video at 30 frames per second or Full HD video at 60 frames per second. The selfie camera is also said to be designed for ultra low-light selfies and will come with an Adaptive Low Light mode. At the rear, there will be a 12 MP + 8 MP dual camera setup with dual-tone LED flash and Phase Detection Autofocus as well as the ability to add depth of field effects, like most other dual camera devices. Also, the device will run on Android 7.1.1 OS and a 3,000mAh non-removable battery with TurboCharging feature. Although the X4 is tipped for release in the fourth quarter, no official date has been disclosed.

A SIM tray is available on the top-edge of the smartphone. Anatel listing of the Moto X4 has revealed that the smartphone is enabled with Digital TV. On July 4, famed Leaker Evan Blass, released an image he said is of the Moto X4. We had no cause to doubt him because this is like the uncrowned king of leaks, right? However in a new tweet today, he revealed that the Moto X4’s final design is actually the very first one we saw when we first heard of the device’s existence and not the most recent one.

In his latest tweet, he admits that the image he shared back in July was probably bad info or an early render. He has seen the final design and it is the one on the left and not the one on the right in the images below.

The major difference between both images is the design of the dual rear cameras. The Moto X4 will maintain the circular design which seems to be the standard for all Motorola phones. However it will have the LED flash at the top instead of the bottom and the area round the sensors won’t be coated black.

The phone will have glass on both sides, a front-mounted fingerprint scanner and an IP68-rating.

There is no new info about the specs. So we should expect a 5.2-inch display, a Snapdragon 630 processor, and a 3000mAh battery. The dual rear cameras are said to be a combination of a 12MP main sensor and an 8MP secondary sensor.

The Moto X4 is expected to fall in the mid-range category and the most spectacular is that the device will be supported by Google’s MVNO, Project Fi. Pricing details for the Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus have been revealed by tech blogger Roland Quandt.  He also revealed the pricing for the 32GB variant of the Moto X4 yesterday. Comparing all three prices, it will be a tough decision (or not) for buyers if they turn out to be true.

According to him, the Moto G5S will be priced around €300 and the Moto G5S Plus will be around €330. Add €20 more and you should be able to purchase the Moto X4.

While the Moto X4 is a brand new device, the Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus are just slight upgrades to the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus released this year.

Lenovo’s Motorola brand has planned a flurry of smartphone releases this year and one of the models that are likely coming is the Moto X4. The model has appeared in a couple of leaks recently, including its likely image. We have also seen a leak showcasing its specifications and that leak has got some sort of confirmation. A Motorola model has appeared on GFXBench and is suspected to be the Moto X4.

The Moto model appeared with the model number XT1789 and presents with a 5-inch display having a FullHD resolution (1980 x 1080pixels). The GFXBench data also shows the Moto X4 will come packing Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS which may likely feature some customisation in the China version, ZUI perhaps. The device is powered by a 2.2GHz Octa-core Qualcomm chip believed to be the Snapdragon 630 chip due to the presence of an Adreno 508 GPU.

In addition, the Moto X4 features 3GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage. The device is also listed with a 12 MP rear-facing camera with LED flash and a 16MP front-facing selfie shooter. A previous leak had tipped the X4 as coming with a dual camera setup and that was also captured in the leaked image. GFXBench app doesn’t detect dual camera setup so, it shouldn’t be surprising that only one of the cameras was captured. The device will likely have a 12 MP + 8 MP dual camera setup.

GFXBench doesn’t reveal too many details about the specs but other details revealed about the Moto X4 includes that the device will feature an IP68 certified body and a front-mounted fingerprint reader which will be versatile enough to recognize gestures for on-screen navigations. The smartphone is also detailed to be the first non-Google phone that would support Project Fi MVNO. This feature will allow the phone to switch between different networks like Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular networks and Wi-Fi hotspots seamlessly. There is also NFC on board as listed on the GFXBench data which makes contactless payment services possible. The Moto X4 is tipped as coming in the fourth quarter of the year which is still a little time away but Lenovo could spring up a surprise before then.

Lenovo has begun sending out press invites to its upcoming Moto launch event which it dubbed #HelloMotoWorld. The poster spotted shows the event will be held on July 25 in New York City, United States. The conference is expected to herald the birth of a couple of Moto smartphones and accessories.

One of the smartphones expected to be unveiled on that day is the Moto Z2 Force which has been the subject of several leaks. The Z2 Force is the next generation model of the Moto Z Force which was released last year. The Moto Z2 Force is actually bigger than last year’s model with a dimension of 156.32 x 76.36 mm as against the Z Force’s 155.9 x 75.8 mm. However, the Z2 Force is thinner at 5.9mm (8.50m adding the camera bump). The Moto Z2 Force is expected to come with a 5.5-inch 2K display, a Snapdragon 835 processor and probably a more compact battery due to the thinner size.

Also, a new Moto X4 was leaked by popular Twitter tipster Evan Bass (@evleaks) and could also be among the models that would be unveiled on July 25. Not much is known about the Moto X4 but the device is expected ill feature an aluminum body, dual rear cameras, and IP68 water resistance.  The X4 will also come with a Snapdragon 630 chip backed by 4GB RAM and 64GB of native storage.

The Moto X4 might have been postponed till Q4 2017 but that doesn’t mean the leak train should stop moving. To celebrate 4th of July (US Independence Day), @evleaks has released an image of the Moto X4 giving us our first clean look at the upcoming phone.

The Moto X4 shares a similar design to the other Moto phones announced this year but looks a bit more refined thanks to its glass back. This looks very much like glass even though a spec leak from yesterday says it will have an aluminium body. The leaked product map even says it is 3D glass.

Adorning the glass back are the dual rear cameras, which to be honest looks like a robber wearing a face mask. There is a dual tone flash beneath it and the whole setup sits in a circle with a small bump. The Motorola batwing logo sits a few centimeters below the setup.

The front of the Moto X4 also gets the glass treatment and you can see how it curves at the edges. There is a LED flash at the top left corner and a front facing camera on the right.

What is different is the fingerprint scanner. Unlike the other Motorola phones with fingerprint sensors released this year, this one isn’t an ingress but is raised up.

We can’t see the bottom of the phone but if you look closely, you should see the USB port in the middle and the audio jack on its right. We are excited about the latter because not only will the Moto X4 be IP68 certified but it won’t ditch the audio jack for that.

He has revealed that the Moto X4 would be featuring a 5.2-inch screen that will be supporting a full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. A leakster had claimed that the Moto X4 would be driven by Snapdragon 660, but fresh information states that it would be fueled by Snapdragon 630 that features an octa-core processor working at 2.2 GHz. The SoC would be coupled with 4 GB of RAM and it will be arriving with an inbuilt storage of 64 GB. Blass did not reveal whether the Moto X4 would be available in 32 GB version.

A previous leak had suggested that the Moto X4 would be coming with 3,800mAh battery, but newer information reveals that it would be packed with 3,000mAh battery. Also, the smartphone would be equipped with 8-megapixel + 12-megapixel dual rear camera sensors. On the front, it will be featuring a 16-megapixel selfie snapper.

The Moto X4 would be featuring an IP68 certified chassis. The front-mounted fingerprint reader will be versatile enough to recognize gestures for on-screen navigations. As it was revealed in the previous week, the Moto X4 would be the first non-Google phone to support Project Fi MVNO. Those who waited for the Moto X4 to launch last month like we thought it would must be heartbroken to find out it has been postponed. The sad thing is that it will be a long wait before it arrives.

According to VentureBeat’s Evan Blass, the Moto X4 will be announced in the fourth quarter. Some say the reason for the postponement is as a result of Qualcomm struggling to meet demands of the Snapdragon 660 chip which will power the device. While that is a genuine reason, it may also be a strategy to prevent the Moto X4 from affecting sales of the newly announced Moto Z2 Play.

Pricing for the Moto Z2 Play is between $400 and $450 depending on the location. Since the Moto X4 is a mid-ranger too, its pricing shouldn’t exceed that range. By releasing the Moto X4 in Q4, the company would have sold sufficient units of the Moto Z2 Play and probably even discounted it.

Aside its launch in Q4, the Moto X4 will also be the first non-Pixel or Nexus device to support Google’s Project Fi. The official Project Fi Twitter account revealed that a new mid-range device from one of its partners was going to join the network later this year. A source privy to both Project Fi and Motorola later revealed that the device is the Moto X4.

Previous rumors have revealed that the Motorola may launch the Moto X4 smartphone on June 30. However, Andri Yatim, a leakster who has been consistently revealing information on upcoming Motorola devices claim that the Moto X4’s arrival has been delayed. He also states that Motorola may mention the Moto Z2 on June 30.

It is likely that the delayed arrival of Moto X4 is because Qualcomm is struggling to fulfil the demand of Snapdragon 660 that is expected to power a couple of mid-range phones including the Moto X4. There is no confirmation on which device the company would be unveiling on June 30. On the same date, Motorola is expected to release the Moto E4 Plus in the U.S. The Moto X4 comes with 5.2-inch FHD, Snapdragon 660 chipset, 4 GB RAM, 32 GB / 64 GB storage versions, dual rear cameras, IP68 certified body with 3D glass finish, and 3,800mAh battery. The Moto G5S and Moto G5S+ are said to arrive as improved versions of the Moto G5 and G5 Plus.

June 30 will be anticlimactic. #MotoE4+ launch and MAYBE a mention of Z2, instead of scheduled X4 launch. Thanks, Qualcomm.

The Moto Z2 will be a higher-end version of the Moto Z2 Play that was unveiled at the start of this month. Rumors have revealed that the Snapdragon 835 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. The native storage of the phone is 64 GB. It is also rumored to feature a microSD card slot. The original Moto Z phone that came in last year did not feature a 3.5mm audio jack. However, speculations have been hinting that the Moto Z2 will be coming with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Moto Z2 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch QHD display that will be covered with 2.5D glass.  It will be arriving with a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Like most flagship, the phone will come loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The Moto Z2 Force that is expected to come with an unbreakable screen dubbed as ShatterShield is also expected to launch alongside the Moto Z2. The Moto Z2 and Moto Z2 will support MotoMods accessories. Motorola is expected to release a couple of smartphones this year such as Moto X4, Moto Z2, Moto Z2 Force, Moto G5S and Moto G5S+.
