Lenovo launched the Moto X50 Ultra in May this year with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip. Now the company has announced a price drop for the phone. The 12GB+512GB and 16GB + 1TB configurations of the phone will be priced at 3999 yuan and 4299 yuan respectively.

According to the company, this decision is made in order to let more people experience the success the company has achieved with its imaging system.

According to the company official, the phone equips “AI imaging architecture” that aids the camera system in capturing nice and colorful images. Notably, this phone has performed better than the Galaxy S24 Ultra and iPhone 15 in the DxoMark camera test.

This phone comes with a glass front, a wooden back or silicone polymer back, and an aluminum frame. It is also IP68 dust/water resistant. The device weighs 197 g and is 8.6mm thick. Unlike many of its competitors, it comes with curved front and back panels and slightly rounded edges and the phone feels premium in hand.

Moto X50 Ultra specifications:

The phone packs a 6.7 ” P-OLED display which supports 2500 nits peak brightness, 144Hz high refresh rate, and HDR10+. The panel has a resolution of 1220 x 2712 pixels and a pixel density of 444ppi.

Speaking of the camera hardware, this phone packs a total of three cameras on the back – a 50 MP 1/1.3″ (1.2µm pixels) main sensor with f/1.6 aperture, a 64 MP 3x telephoto (0.7µm), and a 50 MP ultrawide. There is a 50 MP centered punch-hole selfie camera on the front.

The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip is paired with UFS 4.0 storage. There is a 4500 mAh battery which supports 125W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The flagship Motorola Moto X50 Ultra smartphone is now available for direct import by customers outside China. The Moto X50 Ultra is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. It also features a telephoto lens and 2,800 nits of maximum brightness.

The Moto X50 Ultra runs on Android 14 out of the box and has a Pantone-certified display. The smartphone has a 6.7-inch screen with a resolution of 2,712 x 1,220 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate. The screen covers the entire DCI-P3 color space and has a fingerprint sensor. The 64MP telephoto lens has optical image stabilization and is capable of achieving 100x hybrid zoom. The main and ultra-wide-angle cameras have a resolution of 50MP. The smartphone is said to omit support for Android Auto and also the use of an eSIM is not supported.

The Motorola Moto X50 Ultra has a 4,500mAh battery that can support 125W wired charging and up to 50W wireless charging. The smartphone is 8.69mm thick and weighs 197 grams. It has an IP68 certification for dust and water resistance.

The Moto X50 Ultra smartphone can be ordered via TradingShenzhen with the 12GB+256GB variant priced at about $732, while the 12GB+512GB variant costs $786. The top model in the lineup is the 16GB+1TB variant and it is priced at $860.

Issues relating to warranty and return policy may not be applicable under the direct import framework. Furthermore, the frequency bands for the models have not been specified.

Motorola has just rolled out its newest smartphone, the X50 Ultra, in China. This launch follows its introduction to global markets under the name Edge 50 Ultra.

Moto X50 Ultra specs:

The X50 Ultra features a large 6.7-inch OLED display, boasting a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels. This screen supports a 144Hz refresh rate and offers a 10-bit color depth. It’s also equipped with HDR 10+ and DC Dimming capabilities and can reach a peak brightness of up to 2500 nits.

The phone is also quite durable, with IP68 dust and water resistance and a sturdy aluminum frame. It also features tough Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on the front. Customers can get it with a back made of real Nordic Wood, Forest Grey vegan leather, and Peach Fuzz—which is this year’s Pantone Color of the Year.

It runs on the powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, and it’s available in various configurations, including models with 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and options for 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The phone has an Android 14-based operating system.

For those who love taking photos, the X50 Ultra, features a 50MP main camera with an f/1.6 aperture and OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 122-degree field of view and f/2.0 aperture that includes a macro option, and a 64MP telephoto camera with 3X zoom and f/2.4 aperture. The device also supports up to 100x Super Zoom. On the front, it has a 50MP selfie snapper with autofocus and an f/1.9 aperture.

The battery capacity is 4500mAh, with support for 125W TurboPower fast charging and 50W wireless charging, plus 5W reverse charging. For connectivity, the X50 Ultra supports 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 7 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C. It also includes stereo speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos and supports Dolby Head Tracking.

Pricing & availability

Motorola has set the price at 3999 yuan (approximately $553) for the 12GB + 256GB model, 4299 yuan ($595) for the 12GB + 512GB model, and 4699 yuan ($650) for the 16GB + 1TB model.

The X50 Ultra is currently available for pre-order and will officially go on sale on May 24th in China.

Motorola is gearing up to unveil a new high-end smartphone in China soon. The upcoming device is the Motorola X50 Ultra, which is expected to be a rebranded version of the Edge 50 Ultra recently launched in Europe. The Edge 50 Fusion is set to launch next week while the other two have already been released in certain markets. And now, the Chinese version, dubbed the Motorola X50 Ultra, is also set to debut on May 16.

Looking at the teaser, we can see the device in a Biege color option. But since the Edge 50 Ultra also comes in Black and Peach Fuzz variants, we can expect the China release to also include these colors. Since it’s a rebranded Edge 50 Ultra, the specifications are likely similar between the two models. So the X50 Ultra could sport a 6.67-inch pOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and 2500 nits of peak brightness as well.

The Moto Edge 50 Ultra debuted in the global market last month. It will launch as a rebranded Moto X50 Ultra in China. The device was recently spotted on the 3C platform with 125W charging support. Now, it has appeared on TENAA certification website. It reveals the key specifications including the RAM and storage configurations. It’s worth noting that the Lenovo-owned brand is yet to reveal the launch date of the X50 Ultra.

Moto X50 Ultra appears on TENAA

The Moto X50 Ultra carries a model number XT2401-2 on the TENAA site. The images of the device reveal a curved display with a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout and a squarish camera module housing two 50MP sensors and a 64MP lens that could be a periscope unit.

As per the certification website, the Moto X50 Ultra will feature a 6.67-inch OLED display bearing a resolution of 1,220 x 2,712 pixels. It will be powered by an octa-core 3.19GHz processor that is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 which is already confirmed by the brand. The upcoming smartphone is listed with 8GB, 12GB, 16GB, and 18GB RAM options. The storage options are said to be 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. As per TENAA, the Moto X50 Ultra will be backed by a 4,365mAh battery which is smaller than the global Edge 50 Ultra. It’s likely that Motorola will advertise it as 4,500mAh on the X50 Ultra.

Motorola has already teased AI features on the upcoming X50 Ultra. However, it remains to be seen what these features are. Notably, this is also expected to be the key difference between the China and global variants.

It will also pack some different specifications compared to the global variant. The Lenovo-owned brand has already revealed two key details of the upcoming offering. Now, the Moto X50 Ultra has surfaced on the 3C certification platform.

Lenovo announced today that the Moto X50 Ultra will be the first to equip the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip and will also have a focus on AI. Notably, this phone will launch as Motorola Edge 50 Pro globally on April 3rd.

The rebranded version of the Moto X50 Ultra, or the Motorola Edge 50 Pro appears as “Launching Soon” on Flipkart revealing its key specifications and features.

Apart from the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, this phone boasts a 6.7-inch, 1.5K, 144Hz pOLED panel that lets you experience a “full range of real world colors” validated by Pantone, a global color language that helps specify, express, a regulate colors. The panel supports 2000 nits peak brightness, supports HDR10+, comes with a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut rating, and “SGS Eye Protection”.

Looking at the back, you’ll see a 50MP AI-powered “Pro-Grade Camera” which is also validated by Pantone. It suggests true-to-life images and videos in terms of colors. Motorola is gearing up to launch a new phone in the market called the Moto Edge 50 Pro. This same device is set to debut in China as the Moto X50 Ultra. After clearing some regional certifications like FCC, BIS, and TRDA, it is safe to say that we can expect a global launch soon.

However, ahead of the launch, Android Headlines has leaked the renders of this upcoming smartphone along with some key details about its hardware.

The leaked renders of the Moto Edge 50 Pro reveal that the brand is going with a unibody back for this device. The edges appear to have a metallic curved finish and the display is also curved.
