Quite a number of its phones haven&#8217;t gotten the Android Pie update yet save for its Android One phones &#8211; the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-one/">Motorola One</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-one-power/">Motorola One Power</a>. The update is now rolling out to the Moto Z3 and it brings more than just a slice of pie.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-204524" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Motorola-Moto-Z3-6.jpg?x44794" alt="Motorola Moto Z3" width="446" height="440" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Motorola-Moto-Z3-6.jpg 446w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Motorola-Moto-Z3-6-300x296.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 446px) 100vw, 446px" /></p>
<p>The update brings all the goodness of Android Pie which includes a redesigned navigation, new volume controls, new emojis, a redesigned settings menu, Adaptive Brightness, Adaptive Battery, temporary screen rotation, and a new way to manage your notifications.</p>
<p>It also brings January&#8217;s security update and support for Motorola&#8217;s 5G Mod which will work with Verizon&#8217;s 5G network. The Moto 5G Mod isn&#8217;t yet available for purchase yet but its good to know that you won&#8217;t need to wait for an update from Motorola for it to work when you eventually get your hands on a unit.</p>
<p>The notification for the update should hit your device but if you haven&#8217;t gotten it, you can go to System Updates under phone settings to check for it.</p>

<p>The Moto Z3 has a 6.01-inch 2160 x 1080 display. It is powered by the Snapdragon 835 which also powers the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-moto-z2-force/">Moto Z2 Force</a>. The phone is practically the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-moto-z2-force/">Moto Z2 Force</a> with a new and larger display, improved cameras, and a bigger battery. You still get the same Snapdragon 835 processor that powered last year&#8217;s flagships, Gorilla Glass 3, and support for Moto Mods.</p>
<p>It appears Motorola had a reason for not releasing a “proper” flagship. There are rumors that this year&#8217;s Moto Z series will be the last to have support for Mods as the design language for the series will be changed next year.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-220815" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Motorola-Wireless-Charger.jpg?x44794" alt="Motorola Wireless Charger" width="717" height="418" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Motorola-Wireless-Charger.jpg 717w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Motorola-Wireless-Charger-300x175.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 717px) 100vw, 717px" /></p>
<p>The first proof of that change in design is a new wireless charger that has been seen on the website of the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). At the moment, Motorola doesn&#8217;t have a phone that supports wireless charging (built-in). However, there are some Moto Style shells that add wireless charging support to the Moto Z series.</p>
<p>We believe the next Motorola flagship will have wireless charging built-in instead of via an aftermarket add-on, hence the reason for making a wireless charger.</p>
<p>The wireless charger was certified yesterday and has model number CHR-0661. It is shaped like a disc like most wireless chargers and comes in black. On top, where your phone will lie, is the Motorola batwing logo and on the side is a LED indicator.</p>

<p>The Moto Style shells with wireless charging support 10W fast-charging. Hopefully, this charger and the phone it will be launched alongside support a higher power rating.</p>

<p>Motorola says the update will begin rolling out this fall but don&#8217;t be surprised if some phones don&#8217;t get it until next year. The eligible devices are listed below:</p>
<ol>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-moto-z3/">Moto Z3</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-moto-z3-play/">Moto Z3 Play</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-moto-z2-force/">Moto Z2 Force</a></li>

<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-moto-g6-play/">Moto G6 Play</a></li>
</ol>
<p>Apart from the Moto Z2 Force, Moto Z2, and Moto X4, no other Motorola phone released in 2017 will get updated to Android 9.0 Pie which is sad. However, we are not surprised.</p>

<p>Motorola has a bad track record when it comes to software support. The V was only updated to Android 8.1 Oreo back in June and the Android 8.1 Oreo soak test for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-moto-g5-plus/">Moto G5 Plu</a>s began at the end of July. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/?post_type=aps-products&amp;s=Moto+E5">Moto E5 series</a> isn&#8217;t getting the update too. We are also not surprised as we already knew this right from when they were announced.</p>
<p>Android 9.0 Pie brings a new navigation system, adaptive brightness, adaptive battery and a number of UI changes.</p>

<p>The Chinese market is lead by brands OPPO, Huawei, Vivo and Xiaomi. With today’s launch event that specifically held to announce Motorola phones, it is quite evident that Lenovo is applying dual-brand strategy to gain popularity in the Chinese market. It is interesting to see that Motorola Z3, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-p30">P30</a> and E5 Plus that were unveiled today do not carry “Moto” branding.</p>

The Chinese company has officially disclosed that it would be bringing home the Moto Z3 to China soon. The device is scheduled to be launched in China on August 15. The smartphone is presently on reservation in China via Jingdong (JD.com) while it will go on sale at 10 AM on August 16.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/moto-z3-china.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-205330" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/moto-z3-china.png?x44794" alt="" width="597" height="497" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/moto-z3-china.png 597w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/moto-z3-china-300x250.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/moto-z3-china-95x80.png 95w" sizes="(max-width: 597px) 100vw, 597px" /></a></p>
<p>The company released a promotional video which is a short clip of fans speaking about what they like about the smartphone. Obviously, the major feature mentioned and which Motorola is using as its major promotional tool is the 5G feature. In case you forgot, the Moto Z3 comes with a 5G Moto mod which means the device is the first 5G upgradable smartphone. Lenovo&#8217;s President added his voice that the 5G technology is 100 times faster than the present 4G. Suffice it to state that this feature could become useful in China first before Verizon unveils its 5G framework since China is well ahead to roll out its 5G infrastructure before the U.S.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/moto-z3.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-204405" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/moto-z3.jpg?x44794" alt="Moto Z3" width="680" height="454" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/moto-z3.jpg 680w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/moto-z3-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></a></p>

<p>To remind you of the specs, the Moto Z3 packs a 6-inch AMOLED screen and is powered by last year’s Snapdragon 835 flagship chipset. The chipset is paired with 4GB of RAM and there is 64GB of internal storage inside. In the camera aspect, the Moto Z3 packs dual cameras at the rear which are basically a 12MP + 12MP combo. For selfies, there is a single 8MP sensor. The flagship is crammed with a 3000mAh battery but the 5G Moto Mod delivers an extra 2,000mAh battery power when connected. Also, the device runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo OS out of the box but is expected to get a speedy update to Android 9.0 P when it arrives.</p>

The device was announced at an event held Thursday in Chicago, in the United States. The Moto Z3 will be the final flagship in the series for this year as the tech giant hinted that there would be no Z3 Force for the first time since the Moto Z line was introduced. The new model would be released later this month in the U.S as a Verizon exclusive. Also, there is no word on when the model will make its debut in other markets.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/moto-z3.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-204405" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/moto-z3.jpg?x44794" alt="Moto Z3" width="680" height="454" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/moto-z3.jpg 680w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/moto-z3-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></a></p>
<h3><strong>Moto Z3 Design &amp; Features</strong></h3>
<p>The Moto Z3 is set to become the world&#8217;s first 5G phone as the model is 5G-upgradable when Verizon launches its 5G network next year. The model also comes with a 5G Moto mod. In terms of design, the Moto Z3 features a glass body. The device adopts a massive 6-inch AMOLED display with minimal bezels on either side. The design includes Motorola&#8217;s signature camera module with dual sensors at the back and since it is glass, the device skips on the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Instead, the fingerprint sensor is located on the right side of the device just beneath the volume rockers.</p>
<p>In addition, the rear panel houses the pin connector for the Moto Mods. The device is compatible with all previous MotoMods Motorola has up its sleeves as well as the new 5G Moto mods which the device comes with. The 5G Mod is developed in partnership with Verizon and it is equipped with a Snapdragon X50 modem that will allow customers to eventually take advantage of the carrier’s next-generation network.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/moto-z3-2.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-204406" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/moto-z3-2-1024x679.jpg?x44794" alt="Moto Z3" width="640" height="424" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/moto-z3-2-1024x679.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/moto-z3-2-300x199.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/moto-z3-2-768x509.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/moto-z3-2.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></a></p>
<h3>Specifications</h3>
<p>The Moto Z3 could be called a 2018 flagship with 2017 specifications. The model is powered by last year&#8217;s Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 flagship chipset and not the Snapdragon 845 introduced this year. The chipset is paired with 4GB of RAM and there is 64GB of internal storage inside.</p>
<p>In the camera aspect, the Moto Z3 packs dual cameras at the rear which are basically a 12MP + 12MP combo. For selfies, there is a single 8MP sensor. The flagship is crammed with a 3000mAh battery but the 5G Moto Mod delivers an extra 2,000mAh battery power when connected. Also, the device runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo OS out of the box but is expected to get a speedy update to Android 9.0 P when it arrives.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Motorola-Moto-Z3.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-204401" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Motorola-Moto-Z3.jpg?x44794" alt="Motorola Moto Z3" width="800" height="800" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Motorola-Moto-Z3.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Motorola-Moto-Z3-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Motorola-Moto-Z3-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Motorola-Moto-Z3-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Motorola-Moto-Z3-270x270.jpg 270w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<h3>Moto Z3 Price and Availability</h3>
<p>As stated earlier on, the Motorola Moto Z3 will be available exclusively on Verizon network in the U.S. The device will start shipping on Augst 16. As for the price, the flagship model will be available for just $480 which is quite affordable except that the processor onboard is outdated. Verizon offers those who switch networks and trade in their own device a $300 trade-in credit meaning eligible owners can get this or just $180. Of course, this pricing doesn&#8217;t include the 5G Moto Mod. The price of the Moto Mod is yet to be announced but it won&#8217;t be available until the start of 2019. Further, Motorola announced a limited-time offer which will see those who purchase the Moto Z3 buy any Moto Mod that cost over $100 for just $50. The company is yet to release details on the global rollout for the model but we expect it to hit Europe, India and China soon.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/motorola-moto-z3-5g-moto-mod.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-204404" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/motorola-moto-z3-5g-moto-mod.jpg?x44794" alt="Moto Z3 5G Moto Mod" width="840" height="560" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/motorola-moto-z3-5g-moto-mod.jpg 840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/motorola-moto-z3-5g-moto-mod-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/motorola-moto-z3-5g-moto-mod-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 840px) 100vw, 840px" /></a></p>

Various smartphone OEMs are expected to debut new flagship phones in the second half of the year. An industry insider from China with well-known track record on leaked information on forthcoming phones has shared the list of flagship smartphones that are slated to debut this year.</p>
<h3>August</h3>
<p>The Meizu 16 series that includes <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-16">Meizu 16</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-16-plus">Meizu 16 Plus</a> smartphones are expected to go official on Aug. 8. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is slated to go official on Aug. 9. The Smartisan Pro 3 and OPPO R17 are rumored to go official later in this month. The 360 N7 Pro is likely to get announced later in August or September.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/07/17/hi-res-render-of-galaxy-note-9-surfaces-yellow-stylus-blue-phone/galaxy-note-9-hi-res-render/" rel="attachment wp-att-201755"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-201755" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Galaxy-Note-9-Hi-res-render.jpg?x44794" alt="Galaxy Note 9 Hi-res render" width="504" height="560" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Galaxy-Note-9-Hi-res-render.jpg 504w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Galaxy-Note-9-Hi-res-render-270x300.jpg 270w" sizes="(max-width: 504px) 100vw, 504px" /></a></p>
<h3>September</h3>
<p>The LG V40 ThinQ is expected to get unleashed in September. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/07/23/lg-v40-specifications-leak-reveal-triple-cameras-3d-face-scanning-along-with-arrival-time/">A recent report</a> has revealed that after its unveiling in September, the company release it in the market in early October.</p>
<p>The 2018 iPhones will be also arriving in September. Recent reports have suggested that the two upcoming OLED iPhones may debut as <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/07/16/apple-iphone-9-case-renders-reveal-notched-display-design-and-single-rear-camera/">iPhone 9</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/07/17/iphone-9-plus-case-renders-reveal-design-of-the-largest-iphone-ever/">iPhone 9 Plus</a>. The company is also expected to announce LCD iPhone in September. However, a recent report has claimed that since the Cupertino company has <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/07/26/apple-to-delay-the-launch-of-its-6-1-iphone-till-october-due-to-lcd-issues/">encountered production issues</a> with the LCD iPhone, it may hit the market by October or early November.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/TIM图片20180713145239.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-201046" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/TIM图片20180713145239.jpg?x44794" alt="oppo find x vs vivo nex" width="900" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/TIM图片20180713145239.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/TIM图片20180713145239-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/TIM图片20180713145239-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/TIM图片20180713145239-1024x682.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
<p>Last year, Xiaomi had launched the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-mix-2">Mi MIX 2</a> on Sept. 11 and on the very next Apple had announced the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-x">iPhone X</a> as its first OLED iPhone. Hence, the Mi MIX 3 is pegged to arrive in September this year. However, the leakster has claimed that there is a possibility that the smartphone may get announced in October. A recent report has revealed that it may <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/07/27/xiaomi-mi-mix-3-design-leak-suggest-reduced-chin-popup-camera/">arrive with improved design</a>.</p>
<h3>October</h3>
<p>The Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL phones are speculated to go official either in September or October. Since the predecessor Google Pixel phones were unveiled in October, it is likely that this year also the company may follow the same launch pattern. The Nubia Z19 and Huawei Mate 20 series that includes Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are poised to get unveiled by mid-October.</p>
<h3>November</h3>
<p>By mid-November, OnePlus may announce the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/07/26/oneplus-6t-concept-renders-feature-notch-less-display-triple-rear-cameras-popup-selfie-shooter-and-more/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">OnePlus 6T smartphone</a>. Honor may rival it by launching the Honor V11 smartphone around the same time.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/07/26/oneplus-6t-concept-renders-feature-notch-less-display-triple-rear-cameras-popup-selfie-shooter-and-more/oneplus-6t-concept-renders/" rel="attachment wp-att-203225"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-203225" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/OnePlus-6T-concept-renders.png?x44794" alt="OnePlus 6T concept renders" width="1080" height="548" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/OnePlus-6T-concept-renders.png 1080w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/OnePlus-6T-concept-renders-300x152.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/OnePlus-6T-concept-renders-768x389.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/OnePlus-6T-concept-renders-1024x519.png 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /></a></p>
<h3>December</h3>
<p>360 Mobiles may announce the 360 N8 flagship by mid-December. Honor may introduce the Honor Magic 2 as the successor for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-honor-magic">Honor Magic</a> that was announced in December 2016. Vivo X22 or Xplay7 is also likely to debut by the end of this year. Could this be the first ever 10 GB RAM phone that is rumored to go official this year?</p>
<p>The leakster has further claimed Apple 12 that powers the forthcoming 2018 iPhones is a 7nm SoC. The 7nm Kirin 980 SoC is expected to fuel Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Honor V11 and Honor Magic 2 smartphones. Rest of the phones are speculated to feature the 10nm Snapdragon 845 SoC. However, it seems unlikely that the OPPO R17 and Vivo X22 will arrive with SD845 SoC.</p>
<p>Some of the other flagship phones that are not mentioned in the above list include  Nokia 9 or <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/06/27/hmd-global-working-on-nokia-a1-plus-flagship-to-have-oled-display-sd845-in-screen-fingerprint-scanner/">Nokia A1 Plus</a>, Razer Phone 2, Sony Xperia XZ3, Xperia XZ3 Compact and XZ3 Premium. The Moto Z3 is expected to official tomorrow.</p>

The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/lenovo">Lenovo</a>-owned firm did not unveil the Moto Z3 flagship phone when it had launched the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-moto-z3-play">Moto Z3 Play</a> phone in the previous month. Hence, the rumor mill has been speculating that the company may announce Moto Z3 flagship phone at its forthcoming event that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/06/29/motorola-has-an-event-on-august-2-may-launch-the-moto-z3-or-moto-one-power/">will be held on Aug. 2</a>. Fresh information on the Moto Z3 smartphone have surfaced today.</p>
<p>It is now speculated that the upcoming Motorola flagship phone will be ditching the Force Edition branding and it won’t be featuring a shatterproof display. Last year, Motorola had sold the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-moto-z2-force/">Moto Z2 Force Edition</a> in the U.S. through all the major operators. However, the forthcoming Motorola flagship phone will be called Moto Z3. Since the company is said to have entered a fresh agreement with Verizon, the Moto Z3 will be exclusively available through the carrier in the U.S.</p>
<p>With Motorola Moto Z3 smartphone, the company is also expected to officially announce its 5G Moto Mod. Verizon is planning to start its 5G network later this year, it is only then the 5G Moto Mod can become useful. This means that Moto Z3 will become one of the first phones to support 5G network.</p>

<p>Along with Moto Z3 flagship smartphone, Motorola is also expected to introduce Moto C2 and Moto C2 Plus Android Go phones. Moreover, the Motorola One and One Power Android One phones may also get official on Aug. 2. As far as Moto Z3, it is rumored to be available for buying by late summer. There is no information on the specifications of the Moto Z3. However, it is likely to feature the Snapdragon 845 SoC and 6 GB of RAM.</p>

However, it has kept mum on what product(s) it will be announcing. Although it does tease us with the statement “a whole new way to connect, stream, download, video chat, and more”. The Moto Z3 and the Moto One Power are the two major devices that are yet to be announced. There is a chance it can be one or even both of them.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-198682" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Motorola-August-2-Event.png?x44794" alt="Motorola August 2 Event" width="576" height="319" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Motorola-August-2-Event.png 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Motorola-August-2-Event-300x166.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px" /></p>
<p>The Moto Z3 is the more likely of the two phones to be announced. Its predecessor &#8211; the Moto Z2 Force &#8211; was announced in July last year, so an early August launch isn&#8217;t far off the mark.</p>
<p>For now, the only confirmed spec of the Moto Z3 is a Snapdragon 845 processor. It will most definitely come with the same sized 18:9 display as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/moto-z3-play/">Moto Z3 Play</a> but with a higher resolution. It should also pack dual rear cameras and may be announced along with new Moto Mods.</p>

<p>The Moto One Power, on the other hand, will come with a 19:9 6.2-inch screen with a notch, dual rear cameras, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a 3780mAh battery according to leaks. It will also carry the Android One branding.</p>
<p>The event will hold at the Motorola headquarters in Chicago, USA at 2 pm local time.</p>

It is a higher-end version which will be sold at a higher price and will provide better performance. The new variant differentiates from the ones already in the market by having 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. It joins the other two more affordable variants sporting 3 or 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-197626" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/e1.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="768" height="768" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/e1.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/e1-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/e1-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/e1-270x270.jpg 270w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p>The new variant also comes in a new color variant: Onyx, that is a dark hue. In Brazil, the new version of the Motorola Moto Z3 Play carries a price tag of BRL 2,699 which roughly translates into $716. Just to remind you, the previous version has a listing price of BRL 2,299, roughly $610. The rest of the specs sheet remains the same, as well as the support to MotoMods.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-197627" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/e2.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="768" height="768" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/e2.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/e2-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/e2-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/e2-270x270.jpg 270w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p>Motorola Moto Z3 Play features a 6.01-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The high memory is supported by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset running at a max frequency of 1.8 GHz. As the main camera, the handset has a dual setup with 12 + 5 MP resolutions. The front camera is an 8 MP snapper, while the battery has an average 3000 mAh capacity.</p>

A well-known leakster has claimed that Motorola will be releasing only these phones in this year. This suggests that the company may not launch successor versions of Moto C and C Plus this year.</p>
<p>According to the tipster, the Moto E series phones that will probably include <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/12/moto-e5-real-machine-leaks-feature-rear-fingerprint-sensor-embedded-logo/">Moto E5, Moto E5 Plus and Moto E5 Play</a> will include basic specs and large battery.  He has also claimed that the Moto E5 Play would be replacing the Moto C series. The Moto G6 series may come with two-year old flagship specs. The Moto X5 may be branded as high-end phone.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-172971" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/moto-e5.jpg?x44794" alt="moto e5" width="600" height="400" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/moto-e5.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/moto-e5-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /><br />
The Moto Z series phones such as Moto Z3 Play and Moto Z3 Force may come with futuristic tech which could probably mean that these handsets will carry support MotoMods accessories along with flagship specs.</p>
<p>Leaked information has revealed that the Moto E5 will coming with 5-inch display and large-sized battery. The Moto G6 and G6 Plus may feature 5.93-inch FHD+ resolution supporting display whereas the Moto G6 Play may feature a regular 5.7-inch HD display. <p>The Moto X5 is expected to sport a notch-enabled full screen design like iPhone X flanked with quad cameras. The Moto Z3 and Z3 Play are expected to arrive with 6-inch screen with support 18:9 aspect ratio. It is speculated that there will be a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/17/motorola-moto-z3-moto-z3-play-renders-leaked-reveal-design-key-details/">third Moto Z3 model</a> that may feature advanced specs like Snapdragon 845 and higher resolution display. It is quite obvious that all the Z3 models will include support for MotoMods accessories. The leakster has added that Motorola will not be using MediaTek chipset on its phones this year.</p>

The publication has also revealed the renders and some features of the upcoming <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/motorola/">Motorola</a> Moto Z3 and Moto Z3 Play smartphones.</p>
<p>Last year, Motorola had released two Moto Z series smartphones namely, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/moto-z2-force/">Moto Z2 Force</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-moto-z2-play/">Moto Z2 Play</a>. These phones are expected to be replaced by Moto Z3 and Z3 Play, respectively, this year. As it can be seen in the below renders, both the Z3 smartphones feature super-slim bezels. The renders also indicate that these phones will becoming with some changes in their design.</p>
<p>The publication has claimed that a 6-inch display capable of delivering a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2220 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9 will be available on the Moto Z3 as well as Moto Z3 Play. The display of the Z3 appears to be slightly curved towards the edges.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-167669" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/moto-z3-play-dl-980x537.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="980" height="537" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/moto-z3-play-dl-980x537.jpg 980w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/moto-z3-play-dl-980x537-300x164.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/moto-z3-play-dl-980x537-768x421.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px" /></p>
<p>The publication has not revealed too many details on the specs of these phones. It claims that apart from Moto Z3 and Z3 Play, there will be a third Moto Z3 smartphone that will be arriving with the most advanced specs compared to the other models. It is likely to feature the Snapdragon 845 chipset and a higher resolution display.</p>
<p>The fingerprint scanner is not visible on the images of the Moto Z3 and Z3 Play. There is a possibility that the company may replace it with facial recognition or it could be embedded under the screen of these phones. Like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/16/motorola-moto-e5-image-leaked-reveals-front-rear-design/">rumored Moto E5</a>, the company may embed the fingerprint scanner under the Moto logo on the rear panel of these phones.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-167668" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/moto-z3-dl-767x980.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="767" height="980" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/moto-z3-dl-767x980.jpg 767w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/moto-z3-dl-767x980-235x300.jpg 235w" sizes="(max-width: 767px) 100vw, 767px" /></p>

<p>The Moto Z3 phones are also going to feature support for Moto Mods accessories like the predecessor phones. The handset shown in the second which could be the Moto Z3 or Z3 Play can be seen sporting a Motorola 5G Moto Mod that will bring 5G capabilities to the phone. It also seems to feature dual front-facing cameras. The publication has also predicted that the 2019 Motorola smartphone such as Moto G7, Moto E6 and Lenovo K9 are likely to feature an iPhone X-like notch.</p>
<p>Motorola’s Z2 series smartphones were unveiled to the world in summer of 2017. Hence, it is likely that the company may announce the three Moto Z3 phones in summer this year.</p>
