Last month, popular tipster @OnLeaks had shared 360-degree renders of the forthcoming Motorola Moto Z4 Play phone. Later, the case renders of the smartphone had also surfaced to leak its design. An Indian publication has now shared vital information on the specifications of the Moto Z4 Play citing an anonymous reliable source.

Moto Z4 Play Specifications (Rumors)

According to the new leak, the Moto Z4 Play will be featuring a 6.2-inch screen that will be equipped with a u-shaped notch and slim bezels around the display. The bottom bezel of the phone could be slightly thick. The phone will be fitted with AMOLED screen and it will be the first Motorola phone to carry support for in-display fingerprint sensor.

Plenty of smartphones such as Redmi Note 7 Pro, Meizu Note 9, Vivo V15 Pro are rumored to be equipped with Snapdragon 675 chipset. The publication reveals that the Moto Z4 Play will be also powered by the same chipset. It is expected to arrive in two models such as 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage + 6 GB RAM.

It has further stated that there is no confirmed information on whether the Moto Z4 Play has a dual camera setup or single-lens on its rear. However, there is information about one lens that will be available on the backside of the Z4 Play. It will be featuring a 48-megapixel sensor, but it won’t be the one Samsung sensor found on Galaxy A8s and Redmi Note 7 and also, it won’t be the Sony sensor available on the Honor View 20. The Lenovo-owned firm is expected to use S5KGM1SP sensor by Q Technology.

The handset is rumored to include a decent battery of 3,600mAh capacity which is likely to carry support for rapid charging. It will come preinstalled with Android 9 Pie OS. The back side of the phone will feature a strip of magnetic pins that will allow users to attach various kinds of Moto Mods such as movie projector, battery pack, boombox speaker and more.

There is no information available on the price of the Moto Z4 Play. As far as the launch date of the smartphone is concerned, it is expected to go official by first half of the year.

Motorola P40 Case Renders

The Motorola P40 case renders have revealed that the rear side of the phone will be featuring a vertical dual camera setup and a hole for the fingerprint scanner enabled Motorola logo. The cutouts for 3.5mm audio jack, bottom-firing speakers and USB-C port can be seen on the case of the P40.

The Motorola P40 will be the first phone from the company to arrive with punch-hole display like the Huawei Nova 4, Honor V20 and Samsung Galaxy A8s smartphones that haver released in the recent past. Rumors have it that it will be featuring 6.2-inch LCD display. The Snapdragon 675 chipset is expected to power the 64 GB and 128 GB editions of the phone with 6 GB of RAM. It is likely to house a 4,132mAh battery. Other rumored features of the Motorola P40 phone include 48-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup on the rear, a front-facing shooter of 12-megapixel and support for NFC connectivity. It will be an Android One device running on stock edition of Android 9 Pie OS.

Motorola Moto Z4 Play Case Renders

The Moto Z4 Play case renders have revealed that it will be featuring a round-shaped cutout for the rear camera. Rumors have it that unlike the dual camera setup on the predecessor Moto Z3 Play phone, the upcoming Z4 Play will be featuring a single rear camera. There is no cutout for the fingerprint scanner on the Moto Z4 Play which indicates it could be one of the first Motorola phones to come equipped with in-display fingerprint scanner. The Z4 Play case is also equipped with cutouts for 3.5mm audio jack, bottom-firing speaker and USB-C. Previous reportsv have suggested that the Moto Z4 Play will come with 16-pin pogo connector for attaching Moto Mods accessories on the rear like the predecessor models. Strangely, the case renders do not show any cutout for it.

The handset will be featuring a waterdrop notch display with slim-sized bottom bezel. It is expected come equipped with a 6.2-inch AMOLED display. Probably, it could be fueled by Snapdragon 670 or Snapdragon 675 chipset.

For the past three years, the Moto Z series has largely maintained the same design thanks to the modularity feature that lets users add extra features to the phone(s).

Initially, we thought Motorola would switch to an entirely new design this year which will mean the end of the Moto Mods but it appears that won’t be the case. A video render of the Moto Z4 Play has surfaced online that shows us the Moto Mods are here to stay, at least for another year.

The Moto Z4 Play render is from OnLeaks who has a trustworthy record when it comes to revealing early looks of a phone. For this video render he has collaborated with Indian tech blog, CompareRaja.

The Moto Z4 Play will come with a water-drop notch and have slimmer bezels compared to the Moto Z3 Play. The slimmer chin of the phone means the usual “Motorola” branding will no longer be there.

On the rear of the device, the Moto Z4 Play still has a circular camera housing with a bump so that it flushes when a Mod is attached. However, what is surprising is that the Moto Z4 Play will come with a single rear camera and not two sensors like the Moto Z3 Play. Below the sensor is a triple LED flash.

The Moto Z3 Play has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner but that’s not the case with the Moto Z4 Play. Since it can’t be on the rear due to the Moto Mod, the only plausible place it can be is under the display.

The phone has the usual 16 connector pins for the Mods at the bottom. There is a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB type-c port at the bottom while the speaker grille is at the top alongside the SIM tray. The right side of the phone is home to the power button and volume rocker.

The specs of the phone are unknown but the display is said to be 6.2-inches in size and its dimensions are given as 158 x 75 x 7.25 mm.

The Moto Z3 Play launched before the Moto Z3, so we won’t be surprised if the same thing happens with the Moto Z4 Play and the Moto Z4.
