The manufacturer has announced today a device testing program for its upcoming flagship phone.</p>
<p>According to the Motorola Weibo account, those who are chosen will get the opportunity to experience the device before its launch. They will also receive a fee unit, and become honorary product managers for the product. Those who are selected will provide feedback on the device and ways that it can be improved.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-397220" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Motorola-Testing-Program.jpg?x44794" alt="Motorola Testing Program" width="625" height="503" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Motorola-Testing-Program.jpg 625w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Motorola-Testing-Program-300x241.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Motorola-Testing-Program-522x420.jpg 522w" sizes="(max-width: 625px) 100vw, 625px" /></p>
<p>Motorola says those who can participate include Motorola fans, photographers, students, teachers, work professionals, and audiophiles. The registration begins today and it will begin shipping the device to those selected starting on July 29.</p>
<p>Based on the time frame above, we can expect the phone itself to be announced in August. While there is no mention of the device&#8217;s name, it is most likely Motorola&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/06/28/snapdragon-888-plus-5g-arrives-with-a-higher-clock-speed-and-better-ai-performance/">Snapdragon 888 Plus</a>-powered phone. Motorola is one of the few manufacturers <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm">Qualcomm</a> mentioned that will launch a phone powered by the new chipset.</p>
<p>There is no info on the device testing program launching in other markets.</p>

Over the next couple of weeks, it will make its way to different markets. However, only the Moto G7 Plus will be sold in China.</p>
<p>The official <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/motorola">Motorola</a> Weibo account shared a post today that said the Moto G7 Plus China Red version a.k.a Moto G7 Plus Viva Red variant will launch soon in China.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-235693" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Moto-G7-Plus-China-launch.png?x44794" alt="Moto G7 Plus China launch" width="741" height="604" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Moto-G7-Plus-China-launch.png 741w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Moto-G7-Plus-China-launch-300x245.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 741px) 100vw, 741px" /></p>
<p>We aren&#8217;t too surprised as to why the G7 Plus is the only  one in the series launching in China. There are several alternatives to the Moto G7 series available in the Chinese market, so we guess Motorola (or Lenovo) is playing it safe.</p>
<p>What we are surprised about is that the post also says the Moto G7 Plus will be the only Motorola phone launching in China this year! The Weibo post says the mid-ranger will be the only Moto-branded device launching in China which means no <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/motorola-p40">Motorola P40</a> and no Moto Z4 series.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-235643" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Moto-g7-Plus-China-Red.jpg?x44794" alt="Moto g7 Plus China Red" width="690" height="1227" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Moto-g7-Plus-China-Red.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Moto-g7-Plus-China-Red-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Moto-g7-Plus-China-Red-576x1024.jpg 576w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>We haven&#8217;t seen an official statement explaining the decision but if we were to make a guess we would say the plan is to only launch Lenovo-branded phones in China henceforth. It doesn&#8217;t seem as if the Motorola brand is doing very well in the market and it is also competing with the Lenovo-brand.</p>

<p>The Moto G7 Plus packs a 6.2-inch FHD+ waterdrop display, a Snapdragon 636 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage. It has a 16MP + 5MP dual camera setup on its rear and a 12MP selfie camera. The G7 Plus also has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and is powered by a 3000mAh battery with support for 27W fast-charging.</p>

The Moto Z2 Force is the device which the Lenovo-owned company is expected to unwrap on that day which is just 4 days away. The Moto Z2 Force has already been launched overseas and in some regions as the Moto G5S. It may interest you to know that the same model may likely launch under a new name in China. The model was spotted while in use by a Weibo user and it is identified by the microblogging platform as Moto Z 2018.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/moto-z-china.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-154416" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/moto-z-china.png?x44794" alt="Moto Z 2018" width="539" height="515" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/moto-z-china.png 539w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/moto-z-china-300x287.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 539px) 100vw, 539px" /></a></p>
<p>As stated earlier, there has been a precedence so this isn&#8217;t much of a surprise. The device had earlier appeared on TENAA where it was revealed that there will be a 6GB RAM variant exclusive to the China market. The Moto Z2 Force bears a striking resemblance with the Moto Z2 Play which was also recently launched in China. The major difference between both models is that while the Z2 Force is expected to pack a flagship specs lineup, the Z2 Play comes as a mid-range device with a Snapdragon 626 chip on the driving seat.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/moto-z-2018.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-154415" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/moto-z-2018.png?x44794" alt="motorola" width="599" height="118" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/moto-z-2018.png 599w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/moto-z-2018-300x59.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Read More:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/06/29/chinese-version-moto-z2-play-runs-zui-3-0/">The Chinese Version of The Moto Z2 Play Runs ZUI 3.0</a></strong></p>
<div class="tiled-gallery type-rectangular"> As a reminder, the Moto Z 2018 (Z2 Force) features a 5.5-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The phone is powered by a flagship Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at 2.35GHz. The device is also coming with a 6GB RAM + 128GB storage combination which is exclusive to China. There will also be a 4GB RAM variant. Other features of the Z2 Force includes a dual camera setup at the rear having a 12MP main sensor and 8MP secondary sensor, while at the front, there is a 5MP camera for selfies. From the photo, we can see that both the front and rear cameras come along with dual-tone LED flash. Power is bestowed on the Z 2018 by a 2565mAh battery but the battery will likely get a boost with the external Moto Mod battery pack which will be released as well. The device comes in black and white colours and runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.</div>

The new flagship is said to feature some design changes and new features, key being dual rear cameras.</p>
<p>Over the past few weeks we have seen the device show up on benchmark sites and in leaked press images. Today, we get to see Motorola tease the upcoming device.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-139992" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Moto-Mods-featured.jpg?x44794" alt="Moto Z2 Force" width="1006" height="415" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Moto-Mods-featured.jpg 1006w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Moto-Mods-featured-300x124.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Moto-Mods-featured-768x317.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Moto-Mods-featured-775x320.jpg 775w" sizes="(max-width: 1006px) 100vw, 1006px" /></p>
<p>If you head to the Moto Mods page for China, you should see the Moto Z2 Force staring you in the face. It is actually the same image from the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/07/09/motorola-website-mentions-photo-printer-e-ink-display-lego-moto-mods-coming-soon/">Moto Mods article</a> last night but surprisingly I didn&#8217;t notice it. The phone is shown with its back bare and also with the 360° camera mod and the TurboPower battery mod slapped on.</p>
<p>There are visible design changes between the Moto Z2 Force and Moto Z Force. First, the Moto Z2 Force comes with dual cameras although the overall camera design is still the same. The dual sensors are housed in the same circular housing and the LED flash still keeps the same arc design from the previous model.</p>
<p>Subtle changes include the redesigned back which is now plain but still looks like its a fingerprint magnet; the antenna lines; and the area around the moto mod pins.</p>

<p>The Moto Z2 Force will launch with a 5.5-inch 2K display, a Snapdragon 835, 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. One of the rear cameras is a 12MP sensor and there is a 5MP camera for selfies.</p>
