Motorola is gradually upgrading more devices to Android 16. The latest to join the party are Edge 50 Pro and the more affordable Moto G Power (2025). The upgrade brings changes throughout the system, including a more expressive design, better protection against malicious apps, stability improvements, and better connectivity with low-energy audio hearing aids, and custom modes within Settings.

The Android 16 update for the Motorola Edge 50 Pro has been spotted in India with the firmware version W1UM36H.19-13-4. It has a download size of about 1.51GB. The update could also be rolling out to Edge 50 Pro users in other regions. So, if you have this phone, head over to Settings > System > Advanced > System updates and tap Check for updates to see if it’s available.

For the Moto G Power (2025), the Android 16 update is rolling out in the US, as confirmed via the company’s support page. According to Ytechb, the update is available for both the retail unlocked variant and carrier-locked models (T-Mobile and Verizon). The update has the firmware version W1VE36H.10-12 and weighs about 1.5GB in size. Verizon confirms that the update also upgrades the monthly security patch level to August 2025.

What’s new in Android 16 for Edge 50 Pro and Moto G Power (2025)

Both Motorola smartphones get a more expressive design, better protection against malicious apps, more transparent background activities, and better compatibility with LE Audio devices after upgrading to Android 16. There are more changes to this upgrade that aren’t mentioned in the changelog.

The Android 16 update from Motorola introduces custom modes within the Settings app, allowing users to create modes tailored to various situations. Additionally, the Do Not Disturb, Bedtime, and Driving modes have been moved to Settings > Modes.

Users can now connect to a Wi-Fi or hotspot with a single tap, without needing to enter the password. The only condition is that both devices must use the same Google account. The update also includes security enhancements, app compatibility improvements, smoother performance, and resolves known issues.

Motorola has also improved integration with low-energy audio hearing aids. During a call, users can choose to use your hearing aid’s built-in microphone or your phone’s microphone. They can also adjust the volume of ambient sound captured by the hearing aid’s microphones. According to Motorola, this should result in enhanced call clarity, especially in noisy environments or when the hearing aid’s battery is running low.

Let’s begin with the spec sheet:

Design and Build Quality

The Edge 50 Pro, Edge 50 Neo, and Edge 50 Fusion have premium designs, but only the Pro model has an aluminium frame. All three have a vegan leather finish for a premium feel.

The three Edge 50 series phones have an IP68 rating for better protection against dust and water. In terms of durability, the Edge 50 Neo might have an edge over the other two because it meets military standards for durability.

The Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Fusions look similar; the Edge 50 Fusion differs because of a smaller camera module on the rear side, which only has two sensors. In contrast, the other two Edge 50 phones have three sensors on the back.

The Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Fusion have a 6.7-inch screen, whereas the Edge 50 Neo has a smaller 6.4-inch screen. However, the Edge 50 Neo has more pixels per inch, resulting in better details and clarity.

Among the three, the Edge 50 Neo has the highest peak brightness of 2800 nits for better visibility outdoors (vs. 2000 nits on the Edge 50 Pro and 1600 nits on the Edge 50 Fusion). Notably, the Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Fusion support a 144Hz refresh rate, which is limited to 120Hz on the Edge 50 Neo. However, the Edge 50 Neo has the advantage of LTPO technology that allows a dynamic refresh rate for better smoothness and power saving.

The Edge 50 Fusion is protected using Gorilla Glass 5, while the Edge 50 Neo has Gorilla Glass 3. The Edge 50 Pro also features Gorilla Glass protection, but Motorola hasn’t specified the version.

Overall, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo has a better display than the other two, but if it’s too compact for you, the Edge 50 Pro might be a better choice.

Camera

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Neo have the same rear camera setup — a 50MP primary sensor, a 10MP telephoto sensor, and a 13MP ultrawide sensor. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 inside the Edge 50 Pro outperforms the other two. It has better performance and efficiency, although the difference between the other two isn’t significant.

So, the Edge 50 Pro can handle games better than the Edge 50 Neo and Edge 50 Fusion. However, the other two phones have similar performance.

The Edge 50 Pro is a better choice if you’re really into gaming. However, the other two devices would also work fine for regular day-to-day tasks and light gaming.

Battery & Charging

The Edge 50 Fusion has the highest battery capacity of all three — 5,000mAh (vs. 4,500mAh on the Edge 50 Pro and 4,310mAh on the Edge 50 Neo). But when it comes to charging, the Edge 50 Pro leaves the other two in the dust.

The Edge 50 Pro supports 125W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The Edge 50 Neo and Edge 50 Fusion supports 68W wired charging, but the former also supports 15W wireless charging, lacking on the Edge 50 Fusion.

Although the Edge 50 Pro doesn’t have the biggest battery of all three, the charging capabilities make up for it. The device only takes 18 minutes to reach 100% battery capacity, while the other two reach 50% in 15 minutes.

Software

All three Edge 50 models come with Android 14 out of the box. However, the Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Fusion will only get three Android upgrades, whereas the Edge 50 Neo will get two additional Android updates. This means the Edge 50 Neo will stay relevant for two more years after the other two become outdated. 

Connectivity

Connectivity is another crucial factor that can affect your purchase decision. The Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Neo support Wi-Fi 6E, whereas the Edge 50 Fusions support Wi-Fi 5. The newer Wi-Fi standard reduces congestion and offers higher peak download/upload speed.

The Edge 50 Pro has Bluetooth 5.4, Edge 50 Neo has Bluetooth 5.3, and Edge 50 Fusion has Bluetooth 5.2. Only the Edge 50 Pro supports NavIC.

The Edge 50 Neo and Edge 50 Fusion support USB Type-C 2.0, while the Edge 50 Pro has USB Type-C 3.1, offering faster data transfer over a USB connection.

The third camera sensor in the Edge 50 Pro makes a big difference. It’s a 10MP telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom. In terms of display, there’s not much difference between the Motorola Edge 50 and the Pro model in most areas. Both feature a 6.7-inch pOLED AMOLED panel with a 1 billion color depth, a resolution of 1220 x 2712 pixels, and a 20:9 aspect ratio.

The Edge 50 Pro also has a 50MP main sensor and a 13MP ultrawide sensor, but it upgrades the telephoto lens to a high-resolution 50MP sensor with the same 3x optical zoom.

The Pro’s high-res telephoto should naturally deliver better portraits, but for wide and ultrawide shots you can expect similar results. Both phones also offer similar rear video recording capabilities, topping out at 4K at 30fps. For selfies, the Edge 50 features a 32MP lens, while the Pro model boasts a 50MP camera. 

Battery and Others

Despite its slim size, the Edge 50 has a bigger battery than the Pro model. It packs a 5000mAh cell compared to 4500mAh on the 50 Pro. However, the latter redeems itself with considerably faster charging support.

It supports 125W wired charging, which Motorola claims can juice up the phone to 100% in just 18 minutes. The Edge 50 offers a more modest 68W wired charging solution. They also support wireless charging, with the Pro model reaching 50W speeds compared to the Edge 50’s 15W.

Meanwhile, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro boasts a 6.7-inch p-OLED display with curved edges that gives a premium feel. It has the same 1.5K resolution as the POCO F6. However, the Edge 50 Pro has an edge here due to its higher 144Hz refresh rate and Pantone Validated display that offers realistic colors and accurate skin tones. 

The POCO F6 has a simple design with two protruding camera rings on the back panel and a flat frame. This would appear quite bland for those who want a stylish look. On the other hand, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro has a raised squarish camera module on the back panel. Although we have seen it on older phones, it does give a unique look.

The Edge 50 Pro is also IP68-certified whereas POCO F6 has an IP64 rating. The former is available in leather-textured Black Beauty and Luxe Lavender color options whereas the Moonlight Pearl has a gradient texture finish.

Hardware

Under the hood, the POCO F6 is equipped with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. It also has a heat dissipation system onboard. The device draws its power from a 5,000mAh battery with support for 90W charging. 

Coming to the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, it is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor which is not anywhere close to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. However, it is still capable of everyday usage and some light to medium gaming. The device is offered with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. It lacks a thermals onboard for cooling down the device. The smartphone is backed by a 4,500mAh cell with support for a faster 120W wired as well as 50W wireless charging. The latter is a cherry on the cake. But do note that the base variant is limited to only 68W wired charging. 

Cameras

The POCO F6 has a dual camera setup of a 50MP OIS-enabled Sony LYT-600 main sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. It has motion-tracking focus and is capable of recording 4K HDR10+ videos. There is a 20MP selfie snapper. 

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro gets the upper hand in the photography department. The triple camera setup comprises a 50MP OIS primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens that doubles up as a macro and depth unit, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 30x hybrid zoom. Up front, the device has a 50MP camera. The Edge 50 Pro’s camera is again Pantone Validated which captures true colours. 

Software

The POCO F6 ships with HyperOS-based Android 14 out of the box. The Motorola Edge 50 Pro also comes with Android 14. Both phones are eligible for three OS updates and 4 years of security patches. 

The POCO F6 packs smart sensing AON that includes smart gestures, smart lock detection, smart AOD, and smart screen rotation. Meanwhile, the Edge 50 Pro comes with Generative AI theming for creating your own unique wallpaper powered by AI. There are also Motorola Experiences like shaking the phone to enable the flashlight and twisting the wrist to launch the camera. 

Pricing & Conclusion

The POCO F6 starts at 29,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant, whereas the 12GB + 256 costs Rs 31,999. The 12GB + 512GB option carries a price tag of Rs 33,999.

On the other hand, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro is priced at Rs 31,999 and Rs 35,999 for the 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB variants, respecively. 

In our conclusion, both phones give tough competition to each other. The Motorola Edge 50 Pro outdoes the POCO F6 in the display, design and camera department whereas the POCO F6 ups its ante in the performance area as well as in software features. The POCO F6 is also slightly cheaper.

The Motorola device also offers up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, while the Chinese brand tops out at 12GB + 512GB storage configuration.

Motorola unveiled the Edge 50 Pro is two charging variants. The base 8GB + 256GB option only offers 68W wired fast charging, while the 12GB + 256GB option supports 120W wired fast charging. But for this price, the Realme GT 6T offers 125W wired fast charging on every variant. The battery on the GT 6T is 1,000mAh larger than the Edge 50 Pro. The former is powered by a 5,500mAh cell, while the latter houses a 4,500mAh battery.

Built for Gaming

Realme has placed an emphasis on a smooth gaming experience on its latest GT model. The Motorola Edge 50 Pro isn’t in any way bad for mobile gamers, however, the GT 6T comes with certain features that offer it an advantage. It comes with Geek Power Tuning mode that helps change the CPU and GPU frequency and GT Mode 5.0, which brings AI frame stabilization, atomic-level resource scheduling, and GPU heterogeneous rendering for maintaining a stable high frame rate. For cooling, the device even offers a 9-layer ice-cooling vapor chamber covering a total area of 10,014mm².

Pricing

Realme launched the GT 6T for a starting price tag of 30,999 INR for the base 8GB + 128GB. While the storage is half of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, the charging rate is twice as fast. The 12GB + 512GB option of both devices carry an identical 35,999 INR price tag. Currently, there is also a 4,000 INR discount on the Realme GT 6T, which makes it a lot more affordable. The camera layout is minimal on the two handsets compared to other expensive phones. Additionally, the Vivo V30 has a soft LED flashlight.

As far as protection is concerned, the Edge 50 Pro is IP68-rated, which makes it submersible in 1.5m of water for up to 30 minutes. While the V30 with its IP54 rating is only splash-resistant.

Similar Performance Different Software

Both Motorola Edge 50 Pro and Vivo V30 are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 mobile platform. The chipset is paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

But the base variant of V30 is limited to 128GB storage. Whereas the Edge 50 Pro comes with 256GB storage as standard.

On the software front, the duo boots Android 14. Both of them are eligible for three generations of Android updates and four years of security updates.

However, the software experience is different between the two. Vivo uses Funtouch OS which is quite different from the near-stock Android experience (Hello UI) offered by Motorola.

Nevertheless, Vivo rolls out system updates in a timely manner and is known to keep its devices up to date. While Motorola is yet to prove itself in terms of software support.

Better Cameras on Vivo

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro may have three rear cameras instead of two on the Vivo V30. But the latter has better cameras.

The V30 sports an OIS-assisted 50MP primary sensor and a 50MP ultrawide with autofocus. Even its 50MP selfie camera on the front supports autofocus.

All of these cameras are powered by Vivo’s imaging algorithm, which is known for providing excellent output. The soft LED flashlight also helps in low light scenarios.

On the other hand, the Edge 50 Pro has a proper three lens system. It comes with an OIS-assisted 50MP primary sensor, a 13MP ultrawide unit, and a 10MP 3x telephoto shooter with OIS. On the front, it has a 50MP snapper with autofocus.

This camera hardware is no slouch either. But Motorola’s imaging algorithm lags behind the the competition. It is software processing that plays an important role in smartphone photography.

Motorola Edges in Charging

The Vivo V30 houses a larger 5,000mAh battery as opposed to a slightly smaller 4,500mAh battery inside the Motorola Edge 50 Pro. But the latter supports double the charging speed.

The V30 is limited to 80W wired charging. While the Edge 50 Pro not only supports 125W wired charging but 50W wireless and 10W reverse wireless charging standards as well.

Additionally, the Edge 50 Pro arrives with a USB 3.1 port. This not only enables display out but also a useful productivity feature called Ready For similar to Samsung DeX.

However, there’s a caveat. The base variant of Edge 50 Pro ships with a 68W power adapter as opposed to a 125W charger with the top variant. So consumers opting for the entry-level model will have to spend extra money to experience the maximum charging speed. 

Conclusion

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro is more affordable than the Vivo V30. It retails at ₹31,999 and ₹35,999 for 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB memory configurations, respectively.

Whereas, the Vivo V30 costs ₹33,999, ₹35,999, and ₹37,999 for 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB memory variants, respectively.

Additionally, the display incorporates SGS Eye Protection technology for comfortable extended use.

Versatile Camera Setup

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro has a versatile camera setup comprising an OIS-assisted 50-megapixel camera with an f/1.4 aperture. Complementing this primary camera is a 13-megapixel ultrawide, which doubles up as a macro camera. Additionally, a 10-megapixel telephoto camera brings support for 3x optical zoom and a 30X hybrid zoom. On the front, the Edge 50 Pro sports a 50-megapixel selfie camera with autofocus and an improved aperture of f/1.9. The front and rear cameras support 4K video recording.

For a better photography experience, the Edge 50 Pro incorporates a couple of intelligent camera features. The AI Photo Enhancement Engine enhances image quality with advanced dynamic range, finer details, software-based bokeh, and noise reduction, all without requiring any expertise from the user. By dynamically adjusting stabilization levels to compensate for movement while filming, AI Adaptive Stabilization ensures shake-free videos. Tilt Shift Mode enables creative portraits with multiple points of focus, while Intelligent Auto Focus Tracking keeps subjects sharp and in focus, even as they move through the frame.

Blazing fast 125W charging

The Edge 50 Pro comes in two variants. The retail package of the 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage includes a 125W fast charger. On the other hand, the retail box of the 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage variant includes a 68W charger. Both models are backed by a 4,500mAh battery.

My Edge 50 Pro review unit took around 21 minutes to achieve a full charge using the ultra-fast 125W charger. Additionally, the device supports 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.

In terms of performance, the Edge 50 Pro has the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, which also powers the likes of the OnePlus Nord CE 4 and the Vivo V30 5G. The device is equipped with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.

Clutter-free UI experience

The Edge 50 Pro ships with Android 14 and is the first Motorola phone to ship with the new Hello UI instead of MyUX. The Lenovo-owned company has confirmed that the Edge 50 Pro will receive Android 15, 16, and 17 upgrades, as well as three years of security patches. Apart from multiple apps from Google and a few Motorola apps, there are only a few third-party apps.

The new software packs Moto Gestures for controlling the device without touching the screen, Thickhead security, Moto Connect for wirelessly connecting the phone to a TV or PC for work or play, and AI-generated wallpapers.

Motorola recently debuted the Moto Edge 50 Pro mid-range smartphone in the Indian market. This new offering from the China-based brand features the recently launched Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, a capable camera system, and an impressive display. The company is also planning to launch the Edge 50 Pro in the EU soon. After recent reports revealing the Eurozone price of the Edge 50 Pro last week, a new report from Appulas has once again leaked the pricing along with the launch timeline of the device in the EU market.

As per the Appuals report, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro is set to debut in Europe in mid-April. The phone will come in a single 12GB RAM + 256GB storage configuration, priced at €699. For context, the Edge 50 Pro with the configuration mentioned above debuted in India with a 35,999 INR price tag that roughly converts to 398 Euros or US$432. It is also available in a cheaper 8GB + 256GB configuration, which costs 31,999 INR (~354 Euro/US$384). So if this pricing is accurate, European customers could end up paying around 60% more for the device compared to Indian users.

Apart from the pricing, the report mentions that the device will be available in Lavender, Black, and Pearl color options, which are the same as the Indian release. Additionally, the phone will come bundled with a 125W charging adapter.

Motorola is set to launch the Edge 50 Pro on April 3 in India, with plans for a global release as well. Recent leaks have provided details on the smartphone’s Indian pricing, storage, and color options, ahead of its official unveiling. With that said, a new report from tipster Paras Guglani (via PassionateGeeks has revealed the global pricing as well.

The tipster has shared a screenshot of an Italian retail website, in which, the Edge 50 Pro, equipped with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at €864. Its primary color option, dubbed “Black Beauty,” showcases the phone’s sleek design.

It is worth mentioning that an earlier report revealed that Indian consumers will also be getting a sole 12GB RAM and 512GB storage model. This model in India will come with a price of Rs 44,999 ($540/€500), with potential discounts lowering it to Rs 39,999 through bank offers. We usually see a price difference between the Indian and European markets, however, a €364 difference is quite steep.

Specifications at a Glance

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro has a 6.7-inch 1.5K pOLED curved display, offering Pantone-validated colors and a 144Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals. It also boasts a peak brightness of 2,000 nits.

At its core, the smartphone is confirmed to feature the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor. It will ship with Android 14, and Motorola has promised three major Android updates.

Upcoming Smartphones in April 2024

OnePlus Nord CE 4

The OnePlus Nord CE 4 is scheduled to launch in India on April 1 (Monday). It will be announced at 6:30 PM IST.

The device resembles the recently released OnePlus Ace 3V but offers downgraded specs. It is tipped to be priced at ₹24,999 competing directly with the Nothing Phone 2a.

The handset will arrive with a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip, a 50MP Sony LYT-600 main camera, a 5,500mAh battery, and 100W wired charging support.

Realme 12x 5G

The Realme 12x 5G is set to launch in India on April 2 (Tuesday). It will be made official at 12 PM IST.

The product is already on sale in China, and therefore, everything about is already known. In fact, the brand has even confirmed that it will start below ₹12,000 in India.

The phone will come with a 6.72-inch FHD+ 120Hz display (LCD), a MediaTek Dimensity 6100 Plus chipset, a 50MP primary camera, air gestures, a 5,000mAh battery, and 45W wired charging support.

Huawei P70 Series

As per a leak, the Huawei P70 series could go official on April 2 (Tuesday). It may be announced at 2:30 PM GMT+8.

The lineup is said to include four models, namely Huawei P70, Huawei P70 Pro, Huawei P70 Pro Plus, and Huawei P70 Art. All of them will be powered by HiSilicon Kirin 9000S chip and support 5G connectivity.

The Pro Plus and Art are tipped to sport a 1-inch 50MP Sony IMX989 main camera. Whereas, the vanilla and Pro variants will sport a 1/1.3-inch 50MP OmniVision OV50H primary sensor.

All four devices are said to support 88W wired charging. Additionally, the standard version will support 50W wireless charging as opposed to 80W wireless charging on the rest.

Motorola Edge 50 Series

The Motorola Edge 50 series is scheduled to launch on April 3 (Wednesday). The lineup will consist of at least three products, namely Edge 50 Fusion, Edge 50 Pro, and Edge 50 Ultra.

The Edge 50 Fusion will come with an FHD+ display, while the Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Ultra will sport 1.5K displays. All three of them will feature OLED panels and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

The trio will be powered by Qualcomm mobile platforms. The Fusion, Pro, and Ultra devices will house Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, and Snapdragon 8s Gen chipsets, respectively,

The Fusion will be limited to dual cameras (wide and ultrawide) instead of triple cameras (telephoto) on Pro and Ultra.

Realme C65

The Realme C65 will be unveiled in Vietnam on April 4 (Thursday). Its design will be somewhat similar to the Galaxy S22.

Not much is known about this product. As per certifications, it will be backed by a 5,000mAh battery and support 45W wired charging.

The phone will boot Android 14 and will feature a 50MP main camera.

Realme GT Neo 6 SE

The Realme GT Neo 6 SE is expected to launch in China in April. The main highlights of this handset will be its display and chip.

The smartphone will flaunt a 6.78-inch 1.5K (2780 x 1264 pixels) LTPO  OLED panel with up to a 120Hz refresh rate and 6000 nits peak brightness level. Under the hood, it will house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 SoC.

The product will arrive with a 50MP Sony primary camera and a 5,500mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging.

Redmi Note 13 Turbo

The Redmi Note 13 Turbo is anticipated to release in China in April. This handset could launch globally as Poco F6 later.

The phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 mobile platform. It will carry support for 90W wired charging.

Finally, it is expected to come with a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera, an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultrawide unit, and a 2MP macro snapper.

iQOO Z9 Series

The iQOO Z9 series is confirmed to go official in China in April. The lineup will consist of iQOO Z9, iQOO Z9x, and iQOO Z9 Turbo.

The Turbo model will house a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip. Whereas the vanilla and x variants will feature Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipsets, respectively.

Lastly, the iQOO Z9 Turbo is tipped to offer a 1.5K flat OLED display and a 6,000mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy M15 and Galaxy M55

Samsung is teasing to launch the Galaxy M15 and Galaxy M55 in India in April. As of writing this article, the company hasn’t revealed the launch date.

Since both products are already official in some markets, their specs are known.

The Galaxy M15 comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ 90Hz AMOLED display, a Dimensity 6100 Plus chipset, a 50MP (wide) + 5MP (ultrawide) + 2MP (macro) triple camera setup, a 13MP selfie camera, a 6,000mAh battery, and 25W charging speed.

On the other hand, the Galaxy M55  is Samsung’s first smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. It arrives with a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, a 50MP (wide) + 8MP (ultrawide) + 2MP (macro) triple camera system,  a 50MP selfie camera, a 5,000mAh battery, and 45W charging support.

Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G Series

Recently, the Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G series was unveiled globally. These devices, namely Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G and Infinix Note 40 Pro Plus 5G are confirmed to launch in India in April.

These products support 20W magnetic wireless charging tech called magCharge. They are powered by the same MediaTek Dimensity 7020 chipset.

They come with a 6.78-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display and a 108MP primary camera. Lastly, the Pro Plus variant will support 100W wired charging compared to 45W wired charging on the Pro.

Motorola is gearing up to unveil a new smartphone in the Indian market called the Motorola Edge 40 Pro. The brand began teasing the smartphone last month, and now, it has confirmed that the device will launch on April 3 in India.

Along with that, the brand has also revealed a bunch of key details as well. The brand has confirmed that the Motorola Edge 50 Pro will feature a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, which debuted in November 2023. It features a Kryo 715 Prime core with a clock speed of 2.63 GHz, as well as three Kryo 715 Gold cores and four Kyro 510 Silver cores clocked at 1.8GHz. This processor comes with Qualcomm FastConnect 6700, which enables Wi-Fi 6/6E, and Bluetooth 5.3.

Furthermore, it will feature a 6.7″ pOLED curved display with a resolution of 1.5K and a refresh rate of 144Hz. The display will boast Pantone-validated colors, ensuring a wide color gamut and the accurate rendition of real-world colors, including authentic skin tones.

The phone will utilize Generative AI-powered theming, with wallpapers spanning 15 genres and curated by popular artists. The phone will also use the power of AI for its cameras, as Motorola has teased a Style Sync AI Generative Theming mode and AI Adaptive Stabilization for videos.

As for hardware, the phone is confirmed to feature a 50MP autofocus selfie camera. On the back, it will feature a f/1.4 aperture camera, which the brand claims is the widest in its segment. What this means is that the opening of the lens through which light passes to enter the camera will be wider, allowing for more light to enter, making it ideal for taking portrait-style shots, where only the subject is in focus and the background is blurred.

The brand has also confirmed that the device will come with a metallic frame and a silicone-based vegan leather back. The brand has also confirmed that the device will run on Android 14 out of the box and will be getting 3 major Android updates, which means it will have Android OS upgrades until Android 17. Lastly, the brand has also teased 50W wireless fast charging, which it also claims will be the first for its segment.

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro is confirmed to be powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor. As per the Geekbench listing, the setup of this chipset comprises four cores at 1.8GHz, three cores at 2.4GHz, and a primary core at 2.63GHz. The phone will pack 12GB RAM but we can also expect more configurations at launch. The upcoming offering will ship with Android 14 OS out of the box. 

In the Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core test results, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro scored 1,097 and 3,114 points respectively. The benchmarking platform does not reveal any further details of the device. 

Not long ago, the Lenovo-owned brand confirmed that the Edge 50 Pro will boast a Pantone-validated curved AMOLED display. It will offer a 1.5K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and 2,000 nits peak brightness. The Motorola Edge 50 Pro will come with a curved pOLED display having a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. As per the microsite, the device will have a 6.7-inch screen bearing a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It will offer 2,000 nits peak brightness, HDR10+, and a 100 per cent DCI-P3 colour gamut. There is an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The display is confirmed to be Pantone Validated with realistic colours and accurate skin tones. 

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro is confirmed to be the first Pantone Validated camera in the world. This means that the output of the colours and skin tone in the captured images will be validated by Pantone. The elevating camera island on the back panel houses three sensors headlined by a 50MP main lens. The device will also pack AI features like adaptive stabilization, autofocus tracking, tilt mode, and more. There will also be Generative AI theming for creating own unique wallpaper powered by AI. 

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro will be offered in three colours – Violet and Black with a faux leather texture and a gradient hue that seems to look like a shade of Grey and Cream. The upcoming smartphone is already confirmed to be powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor.

Looking at the back, you’ll see a 50MP AI-powered “Pro-Grade Camera” which is also validated by Pantone. It suggests true-to-life images and videos in terms of colors. Previous rumors hint at a 4500 mAh battery and a 125W wired and 50W wireless charging support. The global version of the phone comes in three different color options – Black, Purple, and Silver. Motorola is gearing up to launch a new phone in the market called the Moto Edge 50 Pro. This same device is set to debut in China as the Moto X50 Ultra. After clearing some regional certifications like FCC, BIS, and TRDA, it is safe to say that we can expect a global launch soon.

However, ahead of the launch, Android Headlines has leaked the renders of this upcoming smartphone along with some key details about its hardware.

The leaked renders of the Moto Edge 50 Pro reveal that the brand is going with a unibody back for this device. The edges appear to have a metallic curved finish and the display is also curved. The smartphone features a choice of three colors: purple, black, and a silver/white/stone variant. The purple and black variants appear to feature a textured back, likely faux leather.

Moving over to the specifications, the report suggests that the device will feature a 6.7-inch curved display with a 165Hz refresh rate. For optics, the Edge 50 Pro will feature a triple rear camera system, including a 50-megapixel main sensor with an f/1.4 aperture, alongside wide-angle and telephoto lenses, the latter offering a 6x zoom capability. This camera setup will have laser autofocus and optical image stabilization (OIS).

Internally, the Edge 50 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, supported by 12GB of RAM. It features a 4500mAh battery, compatible with 125W wired and 50W wireless charging. Motorola has teased the AI capabilities of the X50 Ultra in China, indicating the integration of advanced AI features, which is becoming a standard in modern flagship smartphones. Motorola seems to be busy working on its new Edge 50 smartphone lineup. Recent certifications from various international regulatory bodies have shed light on the possible Edge 50 Pro smartphone, hinting at what’s to come. So let’s get into the details here.

Motorola Edge 50 receives multiple certifications globally

One important update comes from the TDRA certification, which confirmed that the Motorola smartphone with the model number XT2402-2 is the Edge 50 Pro. Although the listing doesn’t provide details on other specifications of the device, it does confirm the official name of the forthcoming phone.

Additionally, the FCC certification website has given the green light to several Motorola smartphones with model numbers XT2403-1, XT2403-2, XT2403-4, and XT2403-5.

Though their marketing names are yet to be revealed, their similarity to the Edge 50 Pro’s TRDA model number suggests these could be different variants of the same device. The FCC certification also reveals that the device with XT2403-2 model number has E-SIM support.

Moreover, in India, the BIS certification has listed Motorola smartphones with model numbers XT2403-1 and XT2431-1. However, it’s unclear whether the latter device is the Edge 50 Pro, part of the Edge 50 series, or an entirely new device.

Of note, the XT2403-2 model also appears in the IMEI database bearing the codename “Macan24”. This codename was previously linked by reliable source Evan Blass to the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, likely confirming that these FCC and BIS certifications relate to the same device.

Additionally, Motorola has also registered the possible Edge 50 series accessories on the TUV Rheinland website. These include a 50W wireless charger, wired chargers capable of up to 125W, and a 4,500mAh battery. 

Although not explicitly confirmed, these accessories are likely intended for the upcoming Motorola Edge 50 series smartphone.
