If you have been in the loop, you might know smartphones are quietly getting more expensive. Just as Nothing Phone (3a) Lite saw a price bump today, Motorola has also increased prices for a handful of its devices in India. The revised pricing takes effect immediately and touches both its budget and mid-range portfolio.

Over the past few months, smartphone makers have been dealing with higher component costs, currency fluctuations, and ongoing supply chain pressure. This in turn, is directly affecting consumers, and Motorola’s latest revision fits neatly into that pattern.

Motorola hikes Moto G and Edge series prices in India

The price hike affects three devices across the Moto G and Edge lineups, including the Moto G35, Moto G57 Power, and Motorola Edge 60 Fusion. The increases vary depending on the variant, but in most cases, buyers are now paying between Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 more than before.

For the Moto G35, the base 4GB + 128GB variant now costs Rs 12,499, up from Rs 11,999. The higher-end 8GB + 128GB version sees a steeper jump, going from Rs 12,999 to Rs 13,999.

Moto G35

The Moto G57 Power, a higher-end phone in Motorola’s budget lineup, has also seen price changes. Its 8GB + 128GB model now retails at Rs 15,999, compared to its earlier price of Rs 14,999.

The biggest increase is on the mid-range Motorola Edge 60 Fusion. The 8GB + 128GB variant now costs Rs 22,999 (up from Rs 20,999), while the 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB variants have climbed to Rs 24,999 and Rs 26,999, respectively.

Moto Edge 60 Fusion

For buyers, the right time to purchase a phone is getting harder to predict. Prices that were once stable for months are now more fluid, even for devices that have been on the market for a while.

Motorola is clearly stepping up its software game. Just a day ago, it began the Android 17 beta program ahead of its competitors, and now, the beta program has just gone live for a new set of smartphones.

The Motorola Edge 2025, Moto G57, and Moto G57 Power were the first phones to join the Android 17 beta program. Now, it’s expanding to Moto G86, Moto G86 Power, Motorola Edge 60, Edge 60 Fusion, Edge 70, and Edge 70 Fusion in multiple regions.

Create an account on Motorola’s community website (if you haven’t already).

Visit the profile page and update your IMEI or serial number (SN) details.

Opt in for MFN on your Motorola community profile.

Always ensure that your phone is running the latest software.

Go to the MFN Beta Testing Opportunities page to see a testing opportunity for your Motorola device.

Tap on the registration link for your Motorola phone.

Fill in the required details and submit your application.

Please keep in mind that Motorola may send emails regarding your beta application. So, remember to check your inbox regularly, including the spam folder.

Once your beta application is approved, you’ll receive an OTA update. It’s best to manually check for updates once in a while by navigating to Settings > System updates > Check for updates.

While the Android 17 beta program has gone live for several Motorola phones, the update rollout is yet to begin. Once that happens, we’ll learn about the new features and changes. For now, users can expect to see Material 3 Expressive enhancements, Live Notification updates, and a redesigned desktop mode, among many changes.

Motorola isn’t a reputable brand when it comes to software updates, but it was able to release the Android 16 update well ahead of many major brands, including Vivo, Oppo, and Xiaomi. The stable rollout began last month with the Motorola Edge 60 Pro and Edge 50 Fusion, and now the update is available for more smartphones.

The Edge 60 Fusion and Moto G (2025) are the company’s latest phones to receive the Android 16 update. The update for the Edge 60 Fusion is rolling out in India with the firmware version W1VC36H.14-10-1 and has a download size of about 1.5GB. The update might also be available in other regions.

As for the budget-friendly Moto G (2025), the Android 16 update is currently limited to T-Mobile carrier-locked phones. It carries the firmware version W1VK36H.9-12 and weighs 1.44GB in download size. Motorola will hopefully not take too long to bring it to other carriers and markets.

If you have either of the two Motorola phones, go to Settings > System > Advanced > System updates and tap Check for updates to see if the update is available.

What’s new in Android 16 for Motorola phones?

The update changelog remains the same for both phones. According to that, the update includes a more expressive design, better protection against malicious apps, more transparent background activities, and better compatibility with LE Audio devices.

Additionally, the Android 16 update for Motorola phones introduces custom modes within the Settings app, allowing users to create modes tailored to various situations. Additionally, the Do Not Disturb, Bedtime, and Driving modes have been moved to Settings > Modes.

After upgrading to Android 16, you can connect to a Wi-Fi or hotspot with a single tap, without needing to enter the password. The only condition is that both devices must use the same Google account. The update also includes security enhancements, app compatibility improvements, smoother performance, and resolves known issues.

Motorola has also improved integration with low-energy audio hearing aids. During a call, users can choose to use your hearing aid’s built-in microphone or your phone’s microphone. They can also adjust the volume of ambient sound captured by the hearing aid’s microphones. According to Motorola, this should result in enhanced call clarity, especially in noisy environments or when the hearing aid’s battery is running low.

In short, the Android 16 update for Motorola devices doesn’t include many visual upgrades, groundbreaking features, or extensive customizations. It only includes several quality-of-life improvements that improve the software experience and integration with low-energy audio hearing aids.

Motorola Edge series has been offering great value-for-money smartphones with striking design and color options. The latest Edge 60 series is no exception, but picking one from the lineup can be challenging, especially when they all look almost identical.

The Edge 60 trio has an identical appearance, featuring a square camera module that smoothly blends into the rear panel and a hole-punch selfie camera. All of them are IP68/IP69-certified, which means they can withstand dust, debris, and high-pressure water jets. They are also MIL-STD-810H-certified, which ensures survival in challenging environmental conditions.

What separates them here is their rear design. The Edge 60 and Edge 60 Pro feature plastic rear panels, but Motorola elevates them with unique finishes and textures to set them apart from standard glossy or matte plastic. They come in a special finish that mimics a textile or fabric feel —and there’s also a vegan leather option available. The Pro model also has an option with a wood-like finish.

The Edge 60 Fusion features a vegan leather finish, providing a soft, premium feel with a better grip than standard plastic.

Coming to the screen, the three Edge 60 models have the same Gorilla Glass 7 protection. They all have nearly the same-sized pOLED screens with 1220 x 2712 pixels resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 4500nits of peak brightness.

Performance and software

The Motorola Edge 60 and Edge 60 Fusion come in two chip versions: the Dimensity 7400 for India and the Dimensity 7300 for other markets. The Edge 60 Fusion also features the Dimensity 7400 in Indonesia. There’s no drastic performance difference between these two Dimensity chips. So, that shouldn’t be a point of concern.

The Edge 60 Pro, however, comes with a significantly more powerful Dimensity 8350 Extreme chipset. It pulls off impressive numbers on benchmarks. Take a look at the benchmark scores below to have some idea about the performance gap.

Geekbench result:

Geekbench

Single core

Multi core

Motorola Edge 60

1042

2993

Motorola Edge 60 Pro

1431

4475

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion

1047

3034

The Edge 60 and Edge 60 Fusion with Dimensity 7300/7400 offer a smooth, lag-free experience for everyday operations, such as browsing, scrolling through social media, and messaging. However, for gaming, the powerful Dimensity 8350 Extreme-powered Edge 60 Pro does a much better job.

These Edge 60 models boot Android 15 out of the box and promise three major Android updates. This means Android 18 will be the last major upgrade for these Motorola phones.

Camera

Edge 60 Pro

The Motorola Edge 60 and Edge 60 Pro have the same set of cameras. The triple rear cameras include a 50MP (Sony LYTIA 700C) primary camera with OIS, a 10MP telephoto camera with OIS and 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 122˚ field of view. The other side features a 50MP selfie shooter. Both smartphones can record up to 4K video from front and rear cameras.

The Edge 60 Fusion also features the same 50MP primary camera but lacks a telephoto shooter. The ultrawide camera resolution is also lowered to 13MP. This means the other phones will perform better in terms of zoom and ultrawide shots. The Edge 60 Fusion has a 32MP selfie camera. It can also record up to 4K videos from both sides.

Battery and charging

The Edge 60 and Edge 60 Fusion sold in India have a larger 5,500mAh battery than their global versions, which have a 5,200mAh capacity. The battery should last for a day (at least) with normal usage, and the 68W wired charging refills it in quick time.

The Edge 60 Pro, on the other hand, brings a 6,000mAh battery, which obviously lasts longer than the other two Motorola phones. It also features a faster 90W wired charging. Additionally, the Pro model supports 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse wired charging.

Audio and connectivity

The Edge 60, Edge 60 Pro, and Edge 60 Fusion have stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos for an immersive sound experience. They offer the same set of connectivity features, except for one notable difference: Wi-Fi 6E support for the Edge 60 Pro, while the other two support Wi-Fi 6. The newer Wi-Fi standard leverages the new 6GHz spectrum to offer improvements in speed, capacity, latency, and reliability — especially in congested environments.

Motorola Edge 60 vs Edge 60 Pro vs Edge 60 Fusion: Which is the best for you?

Choosing between the Motorola Edge 60, Edge 60 Pro, and Edge 60 Fusion depends entirely on your needs and budget. If you want the best performance, camera versatility, battery life, and extras like wireless charging, the Edge 60 Pro clearly stands out — but it also comes at a slightly higher price.

For those seeking a balanced mid-range phone with strong everyday performance, a great display, and solid cameras, the Edge 60 hits the sweet spot. And if you’re on a tighter budget but still want a stylish, feature-rich phone with an excellent screen, smooth everyday performance, and decent battery life, the Edge 60 Fusion offers excellent value without major compromises.

No matter which one you pick, all three phones deliver clean software, sharp displays, and Motorola’s refined design language — making the Edge 60 series one of the most well-rounded mid-range lineups right now.

Motorola has recently unveiled its Edge 60 lineup of smartphones, continuing its annual tradition of delivering a diverse portfolio of devices. Like the previous generations, the new gen is also strategically designed to cater to a wide audience, with multiple models spread across various price segments to ensure there’s a compelling option for every type of user.

Choosing between these new phones can be confusing, even for tech enthusiasts. To make it easier, this guide will explain what makes each Edge 60 model different to help you understand your options.

Motorola Edge 60 Pro

Meet the Lineup

For starters, the series consists of the following 5 handsets.

Motorola Edge 60

Motorola Edge 60 Pro

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion

Motorola Edge 60 Stylus

Motorola Edge 60s

Let’s check out how these products are similar and different from one another.

Design & Durability: A Shared Look with Key Differences

All the phones in the series feature an identical design. They come with an elevated, square camera island on the top-left of the rear panel, where the camera sensors and LED flash are arranged in a matrix.

Except for the Edge 60 Stylus, the rest of the lineup has a quad-curved display and is IP68 rated. In contrast, the model with the stylus has a flat screen and is limited to an IP52 rating. The entire series arrives with Dolby Atmos-supported stereo speakers, but only the Edge 60 Stylus sports a 3.5mm headphone jack. Additionally, unlike the other models, the Edge 60 Pro does not have a microSD card slot.

Finally, the Edge 60s is GJB 150A-2009 certified for durability, while the others are MIL-STD-810H compliant.

Display & Visuals: Pixels, Protection, and P-OLED

All handsets in the series offer a 1.5K screen resolution (2712 x 1220 pixels) and a 120Hz refresh rate. With the exception of the Edge 60 Stylus, all models support a peak brightness of up to 4500 nits, and their displays are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

The Stylus variant, on the other hand, uses the older Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and is limited to a peak brightness of 3000 nits. However, as its name suggests, it is the only model in the lineup that supports stylus input.

Regarding the panel type, all phones in the series sport P-OLED screens. In terms of size, the display on the Pro and Stylus versions measures 6.7 inches diagonally, while the other models feature a 6.67-inch screen.

Performance: Processing Power, Memory & Software

The Edge 60 Pro is the most powerful model in the lineup, equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Extreme chipset. In contrast, the Edge 60 Stylus is the least powerful, featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC.

The Edge 60 and Edge 60 Fusion are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip in most markets. However, in India, these models, along with the China-only Edge 60s, use a Dimensity 7400 SoC instead.

Furthermore, the Pro variant is the only model to feature faster LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, while the other models come with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. All phones in the series ship with Android 15. However, their software support differs: the Edge 60 Stylus is promised only 2 major Android updates and 3 years of security updates, whereas all other models are guaranteed 3 Android updates and 4 years of security updates.

Cameras: A Detailed Look at the Optics

All handsets in the series feature a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C primary camera with OIS. While the ultrawide camera on every model supports autofocus for macro photography, the sensor itself differs across the lineup. The Edge 60 and Edge 60 Pro are equipped with a 50MP ultrawide unit, whereas the other models use a 13MP sensor.

Additionally, the Edge 60 and Edge 60 Pro come with a 10MP 3x telephoto camera with OIS, a feature that is absent on the other models. Similarly, these two phones sport a 50MP selfie camera, in contrast to the 32MP front-facing camera found on the rest of the series.

Battery Life & Charging Speeds

The Edge 60 Pro is equipped with the largest battery in the lineup, a 6,000mAh cell. It is also the only model to support 90W wired charging and is one of two phones, along with the Edge 60 Stylus, to offer 15W wireless charging.

The Edge 60 Stylus is powered by a 5,000mAh battery. For charging, it supports the aforementioned 15W wireless charging and 68W wired charging.

Meanwhile, the Edge 60 and Edge 60 Fusion come with a 5,200mAh battery in most markets. However, in India, they feature a slightly larger 5,500mAh battery, the same capacity found in the China-exclusive Edge 60s. All of these models support 68W wired charging but lack wireless charging capabilities.

Availability: Where to Find Each Model

The Motorola Edge 60 family of smartphones is available worldwide, although some models are exclusive to certain markets.

For instance, the Edge 60s is sold only in China and is essentially a rebadged version of the Edge 60 Fusion. Similarly, the Edge 60 Stylus is limited to the Indian market. In other regions, this device is marketed as the Moto G Stylus (2025) and uses a different chipset (a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 instead of the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2).

Therefore, the Edge 60 and Edge 60 Pro are the only phones in the lineup sold with the same name and specifications across all regions.

Which Edge 60 Should You Buy?

For the Power User: Choose the Edge 60 Pro. It has the fastest chip, the most capable camera system with a telephoto lens, the largest battery, and the fastest charging.

For the Creative Note-Taker: The Edge 60 Stylus is your go-to.
Motorola’s Edge series phones look a lot similar on the surface, but dig a little deeper, and you’ll find they cater to different audiences in the market. The new Edge 60 Fusion and Edge 60 Stylus are two such examples.

Both are built on a familiar Motorola template. They both have a big p-OLED screen, decent cameras, flashy Pantone colors, and clean Android software. But there are some meaningful differences tucked beneath their spec sheets.

Here are five ways the Edge 60 Stylus sets itself apart from the Edge 60 Fusion. And why those differences might actually matter, depending on how you use your phone.

The Stylus Actually Matters

As expected from the name, the Edge 60 Stylus includes a built-in stylus. It’s housed in the bottom corner of the phone and comes with software enhancements that let you jot down notes, sketch, or navigate with a bit more precision than your finger allows.

Motorola has been trying to make the stylus stick on mid-range phones for a while now. We usually see it with the Moto G Stylus line, but this time, Motorola brought stylus support to the Edge series with the Edge 60 Stylus.

The Edge 60 Fusion, on the other hand, doesn’t support stylus input at all. If you don’t care about handwritten notes or precise selection, it won’t be a dealbreaker for you.

But if the idea of a digital pen sounds remotely useful, or even just like a nice option to have, it’s only available on the Stylus variant.

There’s no silo or support for aftermarket pens on the Fusion. This makes the Stylus feel less like a variant and more like a purpose-built device.

Performance Goes in Slightly Different Directions

Under the hood, the two phones take diverging paths on silicon. The Edge 60 Fusion comes with MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 globally, or the slightly bumped Dimensity 7400 in India. Meanwhile, the Stylus model relies on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.

In daily use, there isn’t a huge gap in raw power. Both chipsets are built on a 4nm process and use similar Cortex-A78 performance cores. However, there are slight variations in clock speed—2.5 GHz (Fusion global), 2.6 GHz (Fusion India), and 2.4 GHz on the Stylus—and even greater variation in GPU output.

The Fusion’s Mali-G615 may also edge out Qualcomm’s Adreno 710 in some synthetic tests, especially for gaming. But most users probably won’t notice the difference outside of benchmark sheets.

The devices come with Android 15 pre-installed and are promised for up to two years of platform and 3 years of security patch updates.

Display Differences That Aren’t Obvious

On paper, the display specs are nearly identical. Both devices sport 6.7-inch p-OLED panels with a 1220 x 2712 resolution and support for 120Hz refresh. They each claim HDR support and peak brightness levels that most users won’t reach in day-to-day use.

But there are some differences. The Edge 60 Fusion gets Gorilla Glass 7i protection on the front. In comparison, the 60 Stylus settles for older Gorilla Glass 3. That means the Fusion is theoretically more resistant to scratches and small drops, even if the real-world difference is minor.

Brightness also tips slightly in the Fusion’s favor at peak output. It hits 4500 nits at peak versus 3000 nits on the Stylus. These numbers don’t really mean better outdoor visibility, but on paper, the Fusion’s screen is better protected and potentially brighter.

Audio and Ports

Audio hardware is one of the more concrete differentiators here. The Edge 60 Stylus includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, along with support for 24-bit/192kHz high-resolution audio. Whereas, the Edge 60 Fusion drops the headphone jack entirely.

Both phones have stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, so external audio output should be comparable. But if you still value wired headphones or don’t want to deal with Bluetooth latency for voice calls, the Stylus might have a real edge here.

Battery Features

The Edge 60 Fusion comes with a 5200 mAh battery (or 5500 mAh in India), while the Stylus gets a slightly smaller 5000 mAh cell. Both charge at 68W over USB-C, and you can expect similar charging times. But the Stylus also has 15W wireless charging support.

This makes the Stylus one of the few midrange phones in its price range to support both fast wired and wireless charging. It’s not the fastest wireless standard, but it’s better than nothing. And the Fusion, for whatever reason, decided to offer nothing in this area.

Conclusion: Two Phones With Just Enough Difference

There’s no obvious winner between the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion and Edge 60 Stylus. Instead, what you get is a slow branching of two devices built on the same chassis, catering to different types of users.

The Stylus targets those who still want pen input, a headphone jack, and wireless charging. The Fusion leans into a slightly sleeker body, a longer update promise, and a marginally better screen.

Neither phone breaks new ground, but they don’t really need to. If you already know which features matter to you, the choice is simple. If not, you’re likely to be fine with either. Just don’t expect either one to surprise you.

With Motorola launching the Edge 60 Fusion hot on the heels of the Edge 50 Fusion, many users are wondering just how much of an upgrade it truly is. On paper, the differences seem subtle, but in practice, even small enhancements can impact daily use. This comparison is important for buyers deciding whether to save money with the Edge 50 or invest in the newer Edge 60 for added value.

Design and Display

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion

Both phones adopt a premium look with eco-leather backs and curved-edge P-OLED displays, but the Edge 60 Fusion refines the design even further. It introduces Gorilla Glass 7i protection versus Gorilla Glass 5 on the Edge 50 Fusion, offering better scratch and drop resistance. The Edge 60 Fusion also includes MIL-STD-810H compliance and is rated IP68/IP69, whereas the Edge 50 Fusion only carries the standard IP68 rating. That added IP69 and drop resistance gives the Edge 60 a clear advantage in ruggedness.

When it comes to display, both feature nearly identical size and P-OLED quality, but the Edge 60 Fusion’s LTPO panel is a major upgrade. It offers a dynamic 120Hz refresh rate and a blazing peak brightness of 4500 nits, compared to 144Hz (static) and 1600 nits max on the Edge 50. The LTPO technology not only makes animations smoother but also more power-efficient.

The Edge 60 Fusion wins on display clarity, durability, and smart refresh rate control. It feels more flagship-level, especially in outdoor visibility, and builds confidence.

Specifications

Motorola Edge 50 Fusion

Under the hood, the Edge 60 Fusion brings in a newer MediaTek Dimensity 7300/7400 chip, while the Edge 50 Fusion relies on Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 or Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. The MediaTek options offer higher clock speeds and improved efficiency, especially in the Indian variant. While the Snapdragon chips are solid, the Dimensity series used here may handle sustained performance and thermal management slightly better in everyday multitasking.

Both phones offer UFS 2.2 storage and similar RAM options, but the Edge 60 Fusion includes a microSD card slot, which the 50 Fusion lacks, a small but useful addition for users needing expandable storage.

Battery life seems a minor bump too. The Edge 60 Fusion houses a larger 5200/5500 mAh battery (region dependent), compared to 5000 mAh in the Edge 50 Fusion. Both support 68W fast charging, but the Edge 50 Fusion advertises 50% in 15 minutes, suggesting slightly faster charging curves.

The Edge 60 Fusion takes the edge again with expandable storage, a bigger battery, and a slightly more capable chipset, making it better suited for power users.

Camera

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion

Camera specs are quite similar at first glance: both have a 50MP main sensor with OIS and a 13MP ultrawide, along with a 32MP selfie camera. However, there are subtle improvements in image processing on the Edge 60 Fusion, aided by its newer chipset, which helps with better dynamic range and low-light handling.

The Edge 60 Fusion also supports higher frame rates for 1080p recording (up to 240fps), which the Edge 50 Fusion maxes at 120fps. Both support 4K at 30fps on front and rear, and both offer gyro-EIS stabilization.

While actual sensor sizes are the same, the Edge 60 Fusion appears tuned to deliver slightly sharper ultrawide shots and smoother video recording, likely due to better ISP integration in its chipset.

While both phones are closely matched, the Edge 60 Fusion pulls ahead in video versatility and low-light finesse, making it better for content creators on a budget.

Pricing

The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is positioned as the more budget-friendly option with an approximate $275 price tag, making it a great choice for users who want solid performance without stretching their wallets. The Edge 60 Fusion, on the other hand, comes in at a slightly higher price point of $350 to match its more refined features and upgraded hardware.

While the price jump isn’t drastic, it reflects the added value Motorola is offering with the newer model. If you’re looking for the best bang for your buck, the Edge 50 Fusion holds strong, but for a more future-ready experience, the Edge 60 Fusion is worth the extra cost.

Conclusion

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion

The Edge 60 Fusion boasts some standout upgrades that distinguish it from its predecessor. These include a brighter and more efficient LTPO P-OLED display, MIL-STD-810H compliance, IP69 rating, expandable storage, and a larger battery — all of which are absent on the Edge 50 Fusion. It also debuts with Android 15 out of the box, one version ahead of the Edge 50 Fusion’s Android 14.

The Edge 50 Fusion, however, still holds strong appeal with its lightweight design, fast charging, and slightly higher refresh rate on paper (144Hz). But in real-world usage, the Edge 60’s smarter LTPO implementation and ultra-bright screen offer more practical benefits.

The Edge 60 Fusion is clearly a refinement, not a reinvention, but those refinements collectively offer a noticeably better user experience. If you’re upgrading or choosing between the two, the Edge 60 Fusion is the more future-proof option.
