There seems to be a massive demand for the MA1 wireless Android Auto dongle. The device was released in January on Amazon and Target originally. Stocks for the MA1 have continued to be exhausted due to pent-up demand. A quiet launch of the Motorola MA1 wireless Android Auto adapter was done on Best Buy. The device has however been sold out, with the last units purchased by June 3.

The rapid demand for Motorola’s MA1 adapter is spurred by its affordability and plug-and-play capability. The MA1 costs $89.99 and has enjoyed a 5-star performance since its release. It has been only available on shelves for at most one month. It offers an excellent and convenient way of connecting Android Auto to a car.

Even with the shortages, the MA1 can still be purchased at Amazon through scalpers, albeit at a higher price. One observable challenge currently for the MA1 adapter is the lack of updates to its firmware. This could be the reason for observed lag issues when the MA1 is paired with some smartphones. This is in addition to the unavailability of the device amidst other difficult alternatives.

Motorola‘s MA1 dongle which offers wireless Android Auto to cars was launched a few days back and its launch inventory was quickly sold out on Amazon. The Motorola MA1 dongle is the first Google-certified dongle for wireless Android Auto in cars, and it had a rapturous reception with more consumers desirous of having the product. There will be restocking of the Amazon inventory and today, target.com also provides the opportunity for customers to get their dongles via its platform.

SGW Global is the company producing the Motorola-branded dongle and it seems it is doing everything to meet rising consumer demand for the dongle. The wireless form of Android Auto looks like an exciting proposition and this could be part of the reasons for the surge in demand for the MA1 dongle. The wired form of Android Auto limits the speed of charging, hence the wireless option comes with convenience and other premium features like faster pairing and the crowdfunded AAWireless.

Android Auto is an optimized version of the Android platform for seamless use in a moving vehicle. It offers hands-free and minimal interactions between the driver and his smartphone so the driver can keep his eyes on the road. The MA1 dongle will therefore provide added functionality and enhanced hands-free operations of the app.
