The launch of the model in the Land Down Under comes after weeks of speculation which saw the model <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/08/17/leaked-moto-g50-5g-specifications-reveal-a-dimensity-700-processor-under-the-hood/">appear in leaks</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/08/23/motorola-moto-g50-5g-codenamed-saipan-appears-on-geekbench/">benchmark database</a> bearing the codename Saipan.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official.jpg?x92417"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-408358" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official.jpg?x92417" alt="Motorola Moto G50 5G" width="1200" height="700" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-300x175.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-768x448.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-1024x597.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-696x406.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-1068x623.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-720x420.jpg 720w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></a></p>
<p>The new Moto G50 5G bears semblance with the model bearing the same iteration that was <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-moto-g50/">launched in March this year</a>. However, instead of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/01/04/qualcomms-new-snapdragon-480-5g-chipset-will-bring-even-more-affordable-5g-phones/">Snapdragon 480</a> chipset on that model, this new G50 packs a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset. The new model also bears some differences with its sibling in the aspect of the rear cameras and the location of the fingerprint sensor. Apart from these few differences, the two Moto G50 models share the same core specs and design.</p>
<p>In terms of the specs, the Moto G50 5G sports a 6.5-inch  LCD display with an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. The display supports a 90Hz refresh rate and utilizes a waterdrop notch design which houses a 13-megapixels selfie camera.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-4.jpg?x92417"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-408361" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-4.jpg?x92417" alt="Motorola Moto G50 5G" width="900" height="900" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-4.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-4-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-4-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-4-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-4-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-4-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
<p>As stated earlier, the Motorola Moto G50 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The storage can be expanded via a micoSD card.</p>
<p>At the rear aspect, the device packs a triple camera setup that houses the cameras in a square-shaped module located at the top left corner of the rear camera. The rear camera consists of a 48-megapixels main camera supported by a 2-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel depth of field sensor. Motorola didn&#8217;t include a rear fingerprint sensor even though the iconic logo is still located at the back. Instead, the device packs a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-2.jpg?x92417"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-408359" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-2.jpg?x92417" alt="Moto G50 5G" width="1200" height="700" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-2.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-2-300x175.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-2-768x448.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-2-1024x597.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-2-696x406.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-2-1068x623.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-2-720x420.jpg 720w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></a></p>
<p>The mobile phone runs on the latest Android 11 operating system with an overlay of Motorola&#8217;s My UX. Keeping the lights on is a generous 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support. The G50 also comes with support for NFC and has a 3.5mm headphone jack.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-3.jpg?x92417"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-408360" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-3.jpg?x92417" alt="Moto G50 5G" width="900" height="900" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-3.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-3-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-3-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-3-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-3-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-official-3-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></p>
<p>As for the price, the Moto G50 5G carries a price tag of AUD 399 (~$289). The phone will be available in Australia in two color options; Meteorite Gray and Green colors. Motorola is yet to reveal the price and availability details in other markets.</p>

Right now, another smartphone dubbed Moto G50 (5G) codenamed &#8220;Saipan&#8221; is reportedly in the works. The smartphone has been spotted on the database of benchmarking outfit GeekBench. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-2.jpg?x92417"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-407747" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-2.jpg?x92417" alt="Moto G50 5G" width="392" height="500" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-2.jpg 392w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-2-235x300.jpg 235w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/moto-g50-2-329x420.jpg 329w" sizes="(max-width: 392px) 100vw, 392px" /></a></p>
<p>Earlier last week <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/08/17/moto-g50-5g-saipan-renders-leaked-likely-to-launch-soon/">renders of the upcoming G50 (5G)</a> codenamed Saipan had leaked revealing the entire design. The GeekBench appearance gives us an idea of some of the key specifications. According to GeekBench, the Moto G50 5G (Saipan) will run on Android 11 OS and will have 4GB of RAM. We expect other RAM options to be available. The G50 (5G) will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset.</p>
<p>While GeekBench details are usually scanty, earlier rumors tip the G50 5G (Saipan) to feature a 6.5-inch HD+ display and will have a 64GB storage option. The device will pack a 48MP triple camera setup at the rear as well as a 13MP selfie camera housed under the waterdrop notch. The phone will also come with NFC support and has a 3.5mm audio jack.</p>

<p>In addition, Brazil&#8217;s Anatel listing also shows the G50 5G (Saipan) will cram a decent 4,700 mAh battery under the hood. The phone will also have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and will charge via a USB-C port.</p>
<p>There is no word yet on when the device will launch but we expect Motorola to reveal the launch date soon.</p>
