With its affordable price tag and its well-balanced specifications, it is one of the most interesting options you can actually choose in the Android world. Will this handset cannibalize the sales of the Chinese concurrence? Is it a better option than other devices sold at similar prices? In order to let you make the best choice and know everything about the new Samsung affordable phone, we decided to write a comparison and we included two of the best handsets in the 4G midrange segment. We are talking about the Motorola One Fusion+ and the Realme 6 Pro, two of the best-selling devices of this year.

Design

If we only consider this trio, the Motorola One Fusion+ has the most interesting design because it sports a full-screen display. There is no notch and there are no holes in the display, because the phone features a motorized pop-up front camera. But I personally prefer the Realme 6 Pro for two reasons: first, it comes with a glass back, so more premium materials. Further, it has a more attractive galass back with its gradient colors. Its fingerprint reader is placed on the side, embedded in the power key, while on the Motorola One Fusion+ and the Samsung Galaxy M31 Prime you get a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Display

Samsung has a big advantage on its side: it produces OLED panels. This means that it can use them for its devices with low costs. That is why you can find several OLED displays on Samsung affordable phones, including the Galaxy M31 Prime. The M31 Prime wins the display comparison because it is the only one with an AMOLED panel in this comparison, and it provides more brilliant colors. Further, it has an in-display fingerprint reader. The Realme 6 Pro has an IPS display, but it features a 90 Hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, the Motorola One Fusion+ has a standard refresh rate for its IPS panel, but it supports the HDR10 certification.

Specs & Software

If you need the best hardware department, then you should opt for the Realme 6 Pro. It packs a strong Snapdragon 720G chipset paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of internal storage depending on the configuration. The Motorola One Fusion+ is fueled either by a Snapdragon 730 or 730G depending on the version, so the chipset is more or less at the same level, but it packs just 6 GB of RAM. The SoC found on the Samsung Galaxy M31 is inferior to Snapdragon 720G and 730, so it loses the hardware comparison. On all of these phones, you can find Android 10 out of the box with a customized UI.

Camera

Realme 6 Pro is the winner even when it comes to the camera department. While it features the same 64 MP main camera as its rivals, it offers an additional telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom, unlike Motorola One Fusion+ and Samsung Galaxy M31 Prime. Even the front camera setup is great: it is one of the few phones to feature a dual ultrawide front camera: it includes a main 16 MP selfie snapper and an 8 MP ultrawide sensor like the one included on the rear side. The silver medal goes to the Samsung Galaxy M31 Prime featuring a better 5 MP depth sensor and an awesome 32 MP front camera.

Battery

Samsung Galaxy M31 Prime is equipped with a bigger 6000 mAh and together with its efficient AMOLED display it lasts a lot more on a single charge. The Motorola One Fusion+ takes the second place with its 5000 mAh unit, while Realme 6 Pro has the smallest battery and the shortest battery life, but on the other hand it features a faster charging technology with a 30W power.

Price

Samsung Galaxy M31 Prime is priced Rs. 16,499 ($223) in India, Realme 6 Pro costs Rs. 19,999 ($270), and Motorola One Fusion+ is priced about Rs. 17,499 ($237). If it was not for the AMOLED display, my choice would definitely be the Realme 6 Pro due to its great hardware, cameras, fast charging and 90 Hz. But the Samsung Galaxy M31 Prime has a better display and bigger battery, so it is as interesting as the Realme option. The Motorola One Fusion+ sits in the middle with a bigger battery than Realme 6 Pro, but a 60 Hz IPS display and inferior cameras. Which one would you pick?

Design

There is not any doubt: the most impressive design of this trio belongs to the Motorola Edge. Despite winning this design comparison, the Motorola Edge is one of the most beautiful devices released this year. It has a stunningly high screen-to-body ratio, with its display covering almost the 96 percent of the front panel. It also comes with a splash resistant design and an aluminum frame, but unfortunately, it has a plastic back (unlike flagships sporting a glass back). The Motorola Edge has a punch-hole design, Moto G 5G Plus has a dual punch-hole, and Motorola One Fusion+ has a full-screen display thanks to a motorized pop-up camera.

The most advanced display is on the Motorola Edge. This handset is the only one from this comparison to sport an OLED panel, which provides more brilliant colors and deeper blacks. Further, it sports a 90 Hz refresh rate and HDR10 for a great image quality and a smooth viewing experience. Moto G 5G Plus has 90 Hz and HDR10 as well, but it sports an IPS panel instead of an OLED display. Motorola One Fusion+ lacks both the OLED technology and a high refresh rate, so it takes the last place.

Hardware/Software

As it features the most powerful chipset, Motorola Edge wins the hardware comparison, but just by a slight margin. The Motorola Edge has a Snapdragon 765G SoC onboard, which offers slightly better CPU and GPU performances compared to the Snapdragon 765 found on the Moto G 5G Plus. Both the handsets support all 5G frequencies thanks to an integrated 5G modem, they feature up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of internal storage. Motorola One Fusion+ lacks 5G support and it is powered by an inferior Snapdragon 730G chipset. With all of these handsets, you get Android 10 out of the box with a nearly-stock experience.

Camera

Motorola Edge is the winner even when it comes to the camera comparison. It is not a real high-end camera phone, but it has better secondary sensors, including a telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, a TOF 3D sensor to capture depth info and a 16 MP ultrawide sensor. Right after, we got the Motorola One Fusion+ with a 64 MP quad-camera. But Moto G 5G Plus is the best when it comes to front cameras as it sports a dual ultrawide front camera including a 16 MP main sensor and an 8 MP ultrawide sensor.

Battery

Thanks to its bigger 5000 mAh battery, no 5G support and a standard refresh rate, Motorola One Fusion+ is actually able to offer a longer battery life on a single charge. Moto G 5G Plus comes right after with the same battery capacity, but its components consume more energy.

Price

You can actually find the Motorola Edge globally for less than €600/$684 (6/128 GB), Moto G 5G Plus starts from €399/$455 (4/64 GB), and Motorola One Fusion+ costs €299/$340. If you do not mind about 5G and high refresh rate, Motorola One Fusion+ can let you save a lot of money. But Motorola Edge wins the comparison with its better display, cameras, and hardware. Moto G 5G Plus is the perfect compromise between performance and price.

It came under the POCO brand and its name is POCO M2 Pro. It is the first POCO mid-ranger after the POCO X2. The handset comes with very similar specifications to the Indian version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro, but it is not exactly the same device and it has slight differences compared to its older sibling. Are its specifications enough to make it a best-selling device of 2020 or there is something better in the market? In order to establish this, we decided to compare it with two of the best value for money released recently: Motorola One Fusion+ and Realme 6 Pro.

Design

Before talking about the look of these handsets, I think it is worth talking about their materials. While POCO M2 Pro and Realme 6 Pro are equipped with a glass back, the Motorola One Fusion+ has a full plastic design. That is why we would not recommend the Motorola One Fusion+ if we had to choose the most beautiful handset. The Realme 6 Pro has a dual punch-hole instead of a single punch-hole like the POCO M2 Pro, but we recommend it because it has a very attractive design and it is more compact than the POCO M2 Pro. On the other hand, POCO M2 Pro has the P2i certification against water (unlike the Realme 6 Pro).

Display

With the POCO M2 Pro and the Motorola One Fusion+ you get an HDR10 display with great image quality, but still an average IPS panel. With the Realme 6 Pro, you do not get HDR, but it sports a 90 Hz refresh rate. And we believe having 90 Hz on an IPS display of an affordable phone is way more advantageous than having just HDR. I would personally go for the Realme 6 Pro in order to have a smoother viewing experience with my phone.

Specs & Software

If you grab a unit of the POCO M2 Pro or the Realme 6 Pro, you get an octa-core Snapdragon 720G, while if you go for the Motorola One Fusion+, you can get a Snapdragon 730G. Despite the Snapdragon 720G is a newer chipset, the Snapdragon 730G is actually slightly more powerful. However, we still think it is the case to give the award to the Realme 6 Pro because it has a configuration with more RAM than Motorola One Fusion+ (8 GB vs 6 GB), as well as a dedicated micro SD slot. In each case, you get Android 10 out of the box, but Motorola One Fusion+ offers a nearly-stock Android experience, while Realme 6 Pro and POCO M2 Pro are highly customized.

Camera

On the camera side, Realme 6 Pro takes the crown, at least on the paper. The Realme 6 Pro is the only one with a telephoto lens and a 2x optical zoom. The main sensor of its quad camera is the same as the Motorola One Fusion+, but the latter lacks a telephoto sensor: instead of it, it packs a classic depth sensor. Realme 6 Pro also packs a more interesting front camera department composed of an ultrawide dual front camera. Motorola One Fusion+ comes right after the Realme 6 Pro, while POCO M2 Pro is the loser here.

Battery

When it comes to battery life, it is a hard fight between POCO M2 Pro and Motorola One Fusion+. They have the same battery capacity and similar components; it is still too early to give a verdict as the POCO M2 Pro has just been announced and only thorough tests will give us the answer.

Price

POCO M2 Pro has an Rs. 13,999 starting price in India, the Motorola One Fusion+ is priced Rs. 16,999, and Realme 6 Pro costs Rs. 18,999. The winner of this comparison is the Realme 6 Pro with its 90 Hz display and better cameras, but only if you do not care about having the longest battery life. Otherwise, Motorola One Fusion+ looks better.

After coming back in the flagship segment (after years of silence) with the Motorola Edge+, the company announced the One Fusion+ with a very high value for money. Now, the Lenovo-owned tech giant launched the vanilla Motorola One Fusion offering a huge battery and well-balanced specifications for a very affordable price. And we think it is time to compare it with the best value for money phones out there. After analyzing the price and the specifications of the new handset, we decided one of the most interesting comparisons of the moment may be the one between the new Motorola One Fusion, Redmi Note 9, and Realme 6.
Design

I personally love the design of the Realme 6. It is a very minimalistic phone with its clean back and its punch-hole display. Further, it comes in a very attractive color variant. Redmi Note 9 has a too big camera module, that is why it would not be my choice. The Motorola One Fusion is interesting too, but the presence of a rear-mounted fingerprint reader makes it less attractive, at least according to my tastes. In each case, you get a plastic design with a protection against water, but you can not put these devices underwater if you want to avoid damages. They are just water-repellent.

Display

The most impressive display belongs to the Realme 6: just like the Redmi Note 9, it has an IPS panel with a Full HD+ resolution, but unlike its rivals, it sports a 90 Hz refresh rate which allows a smoother viewing experience. So it is an average panel but with a higher refresh rate. And it also boasts a satisfying brightness. The Motorola One Fusion loses this comparison because it comes with a below-average resolution: its display is just HD+ instead of Full HD+, so the level of detail and the pixel density are lower.

Specs & Software

Realme 6 wins the hardware comparison as it comes with the most powerful processor: the Helio G90T by MediaTek paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage. But the Motorola One Fusion remains a very interesting phone for power users due to its reliable Snapdragon 710 chipset providing a lower energy consumption. The Redmi Note 9 is fueled by the Helio G85 paired with max 4 GB of RAM, it does not stand a chance with the Realme 6.

Camera

If we look at camera specifications, we see that Realme 6 is superior again. It is a mid-range camera phone just like its two rivals, but it has a better 64 MP main sensor which should allow capturing better photos. However, do not underestimate the Motorola One Fusion with its bright focal aperture and its 118° ultrawide sensor. Note that none of these devices is a real camera phone, if you need something better with a similar price you should opt for an OPPO Reno2 which offers a great optical stabilization paired with a Sony main sensor and a telephoto lens.

Battery

Motorola One Fusion and Redmi Note 9 sport much bigger batteries than Realme 6 and they come with a standard refresh rate, so their battery life is a lot longer than Realme 6. Between Motorola One Fusion and Redmi Note 9, the former wins because it has a more efficient chipset and a lower display resolution. These elements allow to get a lower energy consumption and a longer battery life. But note that Redmi Note 9 charges faster thanks to its 18W fast charging technology, and it even supports reverse charging so that you can use it as a power bank. Realme 6 charges even faster with its smaller battery a 30W charging tech.

Price

Motorola One Fusion hitten the shelves with a €200/$225 price tag, Redmi Note 9 is priced about €160/$180, and you can actually find Realme 6 for less than €200/$225 thanks to online street prices. With these prices, the Realme 6 is surely the most interesting handset, if we exclude battery life.

Under the hood is the almost two-year-old Snapdragon 710 processor and it is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage.

On the back of the phone are four rear cameras – a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide angle sensor, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. There is a fingerprint scanner on the back too and a dedicated Google Assistant button on the side.

The Motorola One Fusion packs a 5000mAh battery with up to two days of battery life. Sadly, there is no mention of support for fast charge. The phone runs Android 10 out of the box with My UX (Motorola’s new UI) on top.

It is already on sale in Latin America (priced at CLP199,990 (~$250) in Chile) and comes in Emerald Green and Sapphire Blue. Motorola says it will also be sold in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates next month.

The company is further set to spring up another surprise as it readies the One Fusion for the market. Motorola One Fusion has been spotted on Google Play Console. The model appeared on the Google Play Console’s Device Catalog as well as the Android Enterprise Recommended Catalog.

The device appeared with the codename “astro” but is clearly labelled as the Motorola One Fusion. It features HD+ resolution of 1600×720 pixels and although the display size wasn’t mentioned, a previous leak puts it at 6.5 inches with a water drop notch. The One Fusion is also powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM. The phone will also run Android 10 OS from the go.

Previous Motorola One Fusion leak tips the device to also get a 6GB RAM variant as well as 64GB and 128GB storage options. Under the hood will be a 5,000 mAh battery. Samsung’s 48MP ISOCELL Bright GM1 as the primary rear camera joined by 5MP, 8MP, and 2MP camera sensors. On the front, the device should have an 8MP camera. The One Fusion should land in Brazil, Latin America, and several Asian countries in black and blue colors.

It is kinda evident that Lenovo is putting a lot of effort into this brand by releasing fewer devices through its own brand and giving the priority to Motorola. We believe the most interesting Motorola affordable phones launched in the last period is the Motorola One Fusion+, which just debuted in the Indian market at a very hot price. It will be very interesting to see whether this brand will be able to compete with the best Chinese giants out there. Here, we compared it with two other best-buys of the same segment sold in the Indian market: POCO X2 and Realme 6 Pro.

Design

If you look at the above images, you will notice that Motorola One Fusion+ sports a full screen display with no notch or holes, while POCO X2 and Realme 6 Pro have a dual punch-hole. That is why Motorola One Fusion+ has a motorized pop-up front camera. But the One Fusion+ is like a dual-sided medal: it offers a holeless display, but it is not made of premium materials. Instead, it has a plastic body like the ones you can find on entry-level phones. Instead, the POCO X2 offers a glass back and an aluminum frame just like premium flagships. That is why POCO X2 would be my choice. Realme 6 Pro sits in the middle with a glass back and a plastic frame. Motorola One Fusion+, POCO X2, and Realme 6 Pro are all splash resistant phones.

Display

OLED displays are trending, but you do not get any with this trio of devices. They all feature an IPS panels, but POCO X2 remains very interesting since it offers a high 120 Hz refresh rate and the HDR10 certification for better image quality, besides a wider display diagonal. Right after in the display ranking we got the Realme 6 Pro with a 90 Hz refresh rate, while Motorola One Fusion+ sports an unsurprising IPS panel with a standard refresh rate and no other interesting technologies.

Specs & Software

You can get slightly better performances with the POCO X2 since it features a slightly more powerful chipset: the Snapdragon 730G is older than the Snapdragon 720G found on the Realme 6 Pro, but it offers amazing CPU and GPU performance. But if you go for the Realme 6 Pro, you won’t lose so much. In both cases, you get up to 8 GB of RAM and UFS 2.1 internal storage. Motorola One Fusion+ comes with the vanilla Snapdragon 730 (it is basically a 730G with an inferior GPU) and just 6 GB of RAM.

Camera

The most convincing camera department belongs to the Realme 6 Pro: the only one to offer a telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. It has a quad camera with a 64 MP main sensor, a 12 MP telephoto lens, an 8 MP ultrawide sensor and a 2 MP macro camera. Further, it is the only one with an ultrawide dual front camera (the POCO X2 has a secondary depth sensor instead of an ultrawide lens).

Battery

Motorola One Fusion+ is the king of battery life not only because of its higher battery capacity (whopping 5000 mAh) but also because it has a more efficient display with a standard refresh rate. Realme 6 Pro has the smallest battery but still more than sufficient, and it features the fastest charging technology with a 30W power.

Price

Motorola One Fusion+ is priced Rs. 16,999 (roughly $223) in India (6/128 GB), POCO X2 costs Rs. 15,999 or $210 (6/64 GB), and Realme 6 Pro is actually priced Rs. 17,999 ($236) in its base variant (6/64 GB). With those prices, POCO X2 looks like the most interesting device of this trio due to its premium design, better display, great hardware, and pretty nice battery. But Realme 6 Pro offers better cameras, while Motorola One Fusion+ has longer battery life.

The pop-up selfie camera design means there is no distracting notch or punch hole on the 6.5-inch screen of the Motorola One Fusion. It is not an AMOLED display but the FHD+ IPS LCD panel has HDR10 support. Oh! The phone is actually made of plastic and not glass + metal.

Inside the device is the Snapdragon 730 processor. This is a more than capable chipset and one of the choices for manufacturers still churning out 4G phones. You get 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage that can be expanded up to an additional 1TB.

The Motorola One Fusion+ has four rear cameras – a 64MP f/1.8 primary camera, an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide angle camera with a 115° FOV, and a 5MP f/2.4 macro camera, and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. Keeping the cameras company on the back is a fingerprint scanner. The pop-up selfie camera is a 32MP sensor.

Motorola has added an audio jack alongside the USB Type-C port. There is no NFC but you get an FM radio and a dedicated Google Assistant button. The battery capacity is 5000mAh with support for 15W TurboPower fast charger which is slower than the 27W fast charge support of the Motorola One Hyper. It runs Android 10 out of the box with Motorola’s new UI called My UX.

The Motorola One Fusion+ will go on sale in Europe later this month for €299. Buyers will be able to choose from two color variants Moonlight White and Twilight Blue in single-SIM and dual-SIM versions.

Reported to launch by the end of Q2 2020, more details of the Plus variant have now surfaced.

First reported by XDA-Developers, details of the phone were gotten from a listing on the YouTube Device Report Page. The listing reveals the Motorola One Fusion+ will have a 6.5-inch screen with an FHD+ resolution. It will come with a Snapdragon 730 processor that draws power from a 5000mAh battery and will run Android 10 out of the box.

While the YouTube Device Report Page lists just a few specs, a source has revealed more details to XDA-Developers.

The Motorola Fusion+ will have model numbers XT2067-1 and XT2067-2; the former has already been certified by the FCC and will be available in two color variants called Cloud and Sugarfrost.

The display is actually 6.53-inches with a 2340 x 1080 resolution, there is 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage. The main rear camera is a Samsung ISOCELL GW1 64MP sensor. Motorola is expected to launch the device in Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe, India, Latin America, and the Middle East,

The listing also states the device will be released in June, thus confirming the leak from April. However, the specific date remains unknown.

The attached image for the listing looks exactly like that of the Motorola Edge (curved display with a punch-hole and quad rear cameras) while the image for the listing for the Motorola Edge is of a phone with a flat display and 64MP quad-rear cameras. There is probably a mix-up in the images and we can presume the Motorola One Fusion+ is the device in the image used for the Motorola Edge’s listing.

Based on the above, the Fusion+ will have a flat display. There doesn’t seem to be a notch and there also isn’t a punch-hole, so it probably has a pop-up selfie camera. The quad rear cameras are arranged vertically and there is a fingerprint scanner in the middle. The phone also has an audio jack at the bottom.

The Motorola Fusion+ should launch alongside the Motorola Fusion which has been reported to have a 6.52-inch HD+ display, a Snapdragon 710 processor, 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage, a 48MP + 5MP + 8MP + 2MP quad rear camera setup, an 8MP selfie camera, and a 5000mAh battery. It too should launch in Latin America and in Asia.
