Motorola has been rolling out Android 16 for quite some time now. The update has already reached over a dozen smartphones, including many Edge models and Moto G-series phones. Unfortunately, some premium Razr phones are still awaiting their turn. Among them was the Razr 2025, which is finally receiving the Android 16 update.

The Razr 2025 is sold as Razr 60 in some markets, including India. The Android 16 update for this foldable phone has the firmware version W1UC36H.96-24-4. While Motorola has yet to announce the rollout for Razr 2025, some users in India are receiving it already, as shared by them on Reddit. The update will soon expand to North America and the remaining regions.

As you can see in the screenshot, the update package has a hefty download size of 2.26GB. It’s best to use Wi-Fi to download such large packages. If you haven’t received a notification about the update, check for it manually by navigating to Settings > System updates > Check for updates. Please note that the rollout happens in phases, so it may take a few days to a few weeks to reach all users.

To ensure a smooth upgrade to Android 16, ensure that your Motorola smartphone has sufficient storage and it’s charged to at least 50% before installing the update. You can also back up important data for added safety.

These options help enhance call clarity, especially in noisy environments or when your hearing aid’s battery is running low.

Motorola has launched the Razr 60 flip phone in India, a week after the launch of the flagship Razr 60 Ultra. Motorola has also recently launched the Edge 2025 in the US market.

Motorola Razr 60 features

The phone has two screens. The main internal screen is 6.96 inches with FHD+ resolution (1080×2640 pixels). It’s a FlexView pOLED LTPO display that can switch from 1Hz to 120Hz refresh rate depending on what you’re doing. It covers 120% of the DCI-P3 color range and gets up to 3000 nits peak brightness.

The outer screen measures 3.63 inches (1056×1066 pixels) and uses QuickView pOLED technology with 90Hz LTPS display. This screen hits 1700 nits peak brightness and has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

Under the hood, the Razr 60 runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400X processor built on 4nm technology. This octa-core chip has two Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.6GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2GHz. Graphics are handled by the Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. The phone comes with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage.

For cameras, you get a 50MP main sensor with f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization. There’s also a 13MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture that doubles as a macro lens. The front camera is 32MP with f/2.4 aperture. Video recording goes up to 4K at 30fps. Motorola says this has the world’s first video gestures with 100% true color camera.

The battery is 4500mAh. It supports 30W TurboPower fast charging and 15W wireless charging. The phone runs Android 15 and will get three OS updates plus four years of security updates.

Build quality gets attention with a titanium-reinforced hinge that Motorola tested for 500,000 flips. The phone has India’s first pearl acetate finish and fabric finish options. It measures 171.3mm when open and 88.08mm when closed, with a thickness of 7.25mm open or 15.85mm closed. Weight is 188 grams.

Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IP48 dust and water resistance, dual SIM support with eSIM and nano SIM, 5G connectivity, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, USB Type-C port, NFC, and Dolby Atmos stereo speakers.

Motorola is doubling down on foldables in 2025, officially unveiling the Razr 60 and Razr 60 Ultra (also branded as Razr (2025) and Razr Ultra) for global markets.

Building on the momentum of last year’s Razr 50 series, the new lineup introduces smarter AI experiences, more powerful hardware, and a fresh new design philosophy. There’s also a new Razr+ (2025) variant coming exclusively to the US market.

Here’s everything you need to know about Motorola’s latest foldables.

Performance

The Razr 60 Ultra headlines the lineup with a serious hardware upgrade. It is powered by Qualcomm’s cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage.

It sports a stunning 7-inch 1.5K pOLED LTPO foldable display with a smooth 1-165Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness that hits 4,000 nits, making it one of the brightest foldable panels you can buy today. The external 4-inch QuickView display has also been upgraded, supporting the same refresh rate with 3,000 nits of brightness and rugged Gorilla Glass Ceramic protection.

Meanwhile, the standard Razr 60 houses a MediaTek Dimensity 7400X chipset. The internal display here is a slightly smaller 6.96-inch Full HD+ LTPO pOLED panel with 1-120Hz refresh, while the external screen measures 3.63 inches with a 90Hz refresh rate and 1,700 nits peak brightness, covered in Gorilla Glass Victus. Cameras, AI, and Smarter Interactions

Both Razr models come equipped with enhanced camera setups. Motorola has launched its new foldable smartphones globally—the Razr 60 and Razr 60 Ultra (also called Razr and Razr Ultra 2025). Both phones bring major upgrades in design, display, performance, and AI-powered features.

The Razr 60 Ultra runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite 3nm chipset with an Adreno 830 GPU. It comes with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. It has a 7-inch 1.5K pOLED LTPO internal display with a 1–165Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, Pantone Validation, and up to 4,000 nits brightness. The 4-inch external pOLED LTPO screen also supports a 1–165Hz refresh rate and reaches 3,000 nits brightness. It is protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic.

The regular Razr 60 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400X processor and features 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. It has a 6.96-inch FHD+ pOLED LTPO internal screen with a 1–120Hz refresh rate and 3000 nits peak brightness. The 3.63-inch external pOLED display runs at 90Hz and reaches 1700 nits. It is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.

Both phones have IP48 dust and water resistance and use a titanium-reinforced hinge. Motorola claims the hinge is 4 times stronger than surgical-grade stainless steel and can handle 35% more folds than before. They feature Ultra Thin Glass for smoother display movement and improved durability.

The Razr 60 Ultra has a triple 50MP camera system, with main, ultra-wide, and front cameras. It supports Dolby Vision video and Dolby Atmos sound. The standard Razr 60 has a 50MP main sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide and macro lens, and a 32MP front camera. Both phones include AI-powered camera enhancements like adaptive stabilization, action shot, group shot, photo enhancement engine, and signature style.

On the software side, Motorola introduces Moto AI. Users get features like Catch Me Up, Pay Attention, Remember This, and Smart Connect. There is a US-exclusive variant of the Razr 60 called the Razr+ (2025), which has the same display and camera setup, however, it uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip. It includes a 50MP main and a 50MP telephoto lens. Battery capacity is 4000mAh with 45W wired and 15W wireless charging.

Pricing for the Razr 60 Ultra is $1,300 in the US and £1,100 in the UK. The Razr 60 is priced at $700 in the US and £800 in the UK. Pre-orders in the US begin May 7 with full availability on May 15. Recently, China’s TENAA certification approved the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra, revealing all its major specs. Now, the Razr 60 has surfaced in TENAA’s database, disclosing its entire specifications and images. Here’s a look at everything that has surfaced through its Chinese certification.

Motorola Razr 60 specifications (rumoured)

As per the TENAA listing, the Motorola Razr 60 will feature a 3.63-inch cover OLED screen that produces a 1056 x 1056 pixels resolution. On the inside, it will have a 6.9-inch foldable OLED screen that supports a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels. This debunks a recent report that it will have a smaller 6.7-inch display.

The Razr 60 will feature a 32-megapixel camera on the front, while its back panel will house a 50-megapixel + 13-megapixel dual-camera setup. The TENAA certification also mentions that the device will support 3x optical zoom. For security, it will include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Razr 60’s TENAA listing further states that it is powered by a 2.75GHz chip, which appears to be the Dimensity 7400x. As per other reports, the device is said to be equipped with a 4,500mAh (typical value) battery. However, TENAA only mentions that it will feature a 1,090mAh + 3,815mAh dual-cell battery, offering a combined rated value of 4,275mAh.

Reports have claimed that the Razr 60 will support 30W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. In China, the device will be available with 8GB / 12GB / 16GB / 18GB of RAM and 128GB / 256GB / 512GB / 1TB of storage.

Compared to the Motorola Razr 50 from last year, the Razr 60 seems to bring notable upgrades in chipset and battery size.
