Newer reports have revealed that the Reno3 will be driven by MediaTek MT6885 chipset. A new OPPO phone with model number PDCM00 driven by the MT6885 has appeared on AnTuTu benchmarks. It appears to be Reno3 5G phone. Another leak has revealed that the Reno3 5G will be arriving with 64-megapixel quad cameras.

The handset has scored 75,354 and 54,128 points in the memory and UX tests of AnTuTu. The average benchmarking score recorded by the smartphone is 379,839. This score is higher than the Exynos 980 powered Vivo X30 Pro that recorded 326,029 points and the Snapdragon 765G driven Redmi K30 that recorded 302,847 points. MediaTek is yet to announce the MT6885 chipset. The Chinese tipster who shared the above screenshot claims that the SoC will debut as Dimensity 1000L. Its a lower variant of 7nm MediaTek Dimensity 1000 5G chipset that was announced last month.

The tipster also shared another screengrab of the Reno3 5G. The image reveals that the Reno3 PDCM00 phone has an f/1.8 aperture camera that can shoot images of 6912 x 9216 resolution. This indicates that the phone is fitted with a 64-megapixel main lens. Probably, it could be featuring a Samsung GW1 64-megapixel lens that is available on the OPPO K5 phone.

At the beginning of this month, the OPPO PCPM00 / PCPT00 smartphone was spotted with full specs on TENAA. At that time, the handset was speculated to debut as Reno3. Apparently, the PCPM00 / PCTM00 phone lacks support for 5G connectivity which suggests that it could be a different phone or a 4G only version of the Reno3.

Hopefully, the PDCM00 smartphone will soon appear on TENAA with full specifications before the Dec. 26 launch date. As far as Reno3 Pro is concerned, it has already appeared on TENAA with its entire specifications. The OPPO Reno3 and Reno3 Pro smartphones are now up for reservations in China. The pricing of these phones is currently under the wraps.

This phone will arrive as the Reno3 Pro. A new leak says the Chinese phone company actually has two mid-range 5G flagship phones planned with the second powered by MediaTek’s MT6885 processor. The alleged specs of this phone have now been leaked.

The info comes from @Digital Chat Station. He first posted on Weibo yesterday that OPPO will launch two 5G phones with two different chipsets. The post then said the specifications will be posted today. According to him, the final specs may be different, so we advise our readers to take the info with a grain of salt.

The unnamed OPPO phone will have a 6.4-inch OLED display with a waterdrop notch and a 2400 x 1080 resolution. It will be powered by MediaTek’s MT6885 dual-mode 5G processor. MediaTek is yet to announce the official name of the processor as well as its full specifications. However, we believe the phone will launch under the new Dimensity family.

The leak says the OPPO phone will also have 64MP quad rear cameras but we are not sure if it will be Samsung’s 64MP sensor or Sony’s new IMX686. The phone will also have support for 30W VOOC fast charge and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The Reno3 family will be a big one like its predecessor and there is a chance that this MediaTek 5G phone may also arrive with the Reno name. We hope more details surface soon.

Realme X50 5G Specifications [Rumored]

According to the new leak, the Realme X50 5G will be featuring a S-AMOLED display of 6.44 inches that will offer 90Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 735 5G chipset is yet to go official. However, the leak states that the SD735 will be fueling the smartphone. The rear shell of the phone is expected to house a quad camera setup with Sony IMX686 60-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens and another 2-megapixel portrait lens.

For shooting selfies, the device will feature 32-megapixel + 8-megapixel wide-angle lens. The device will draw power from a 4,500mAh battery and carry support for Super VOOC 4.0 Flash Charge technology. It could be the first phone from the company to arrive with wireless charging support. The expected variants of the Realme X50 5G include 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage.

Realme X50 Lite (Youth Edition) 5G Specifications [Rumored]

The same leak states that the Realme X50 Lite (Youth Edition) 5G will be featuring a larger 6.55-inch IPS LCD display by JDI that will support the regular 60Hz refresh rate. The handset will be powered by MediaTek MT6885 5G that is yet to go official. It will be also flaunting a quad camera setup on its back. It will include a 16-megapixel main lens, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel portrait lens.

The Realme X50 Lite (Youth Edition) 5G may feature a single front-facing camera of 32-megapixel. Probably, the phone will be featuring a single punch-hole on its display. The X50 Lite 5G will be featuring a massive 5,000mAh battery that will support VOOC 4.0 Flash Charge technology. The device may arrive in China in variants such as 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage.

The leak has no information on the pricing of the Realme X50 5G and Realme X50 Lite Youth Edition 5G. Probably, the latter may debut as the cheapest 5G phone in China. Readers are recommended to take the report with a pinch of salt as the authenticity of the leak could not be confirmed.

Realme X50 BIS Certified?

In related news, an Indian tipster has revealed that a new Realme phone that has a model number of RMX2030 has received approval from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in India. It is speculated that it could be the Realme X50 5G that may debut in India next year. Probably, the country will only receive its 4G edition as 5G networks are not yet ready.

For the past couple of years, MediaTek has focused on developing products for 5G technology. And as 5G networks have started to roll out across the globe, the company is back into the limelight. The company’s flagship-grade 5G chipset, codenamed MT6885Z, will be officially announced on November 26. While that’ll power the expensive 5G handsets in the market in the coming months, the MT6873 chipset is really the chip we should be excited about.

Editor’s Pick: Smartphones powered by MediaTek 5G SoC will launch in Q1 2020

MT6873 will be targeted at the mid-range smartphone market and should end up on phones around $300. We still haven’t seen any affordable 5G mid-range smartphones in the market but by Q2 2020, things are expected to change. This chip is said to power Huawei’s mid-range smartphones and we could see it inside one or two Honor 5G devices too.

Huawei’s high-end Kirin 990 5G will power its flagship models, which opens up the spot for mid-range and low-end devices. In the past couple of years, Qualcomm has traditionally supplied some chips for Huawei and Honor’s mid-rangers. However, with MT6873’s entry, MediaTek could grab a small share of those shipments next year.

MediaTek is also reportedly developing a third 5G chip for the smartphone market, targeted at a more affordable price segment. The chip should power smartphones that cost around $250.
