Recently, Lenovo released a low-end version of the Lenovo Golden Warrior A8. Its model number is “Lenovo A808T-i. This phone went on sale a few days ago.

The original version had 2G RAM and 16GB ROM. This version saw its memory cut by half. As a result, the Lenovo A808T-I only has 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM. This is basically the main difference between the two.

The CPU, display screen, etc. have not changed. The Lenovo A808T-I still has the 1.7GHz MTK6592 octa-core chipset, a 5-inch IPS display screen with a 720p resolution, a 5mp/13mp dual-camera, a 2500mAh battery, and support for 4G, 3G, and GSM internet.

The Lenovo A808T-I costs at least 830 RMB (135.52 USD) in some stores while, at most, it costs about 900 RMB (146.95 USD).

Some of the H3’s specifications were also revealed as well. It sports a 10.1-inch screen with 1920 x 1200 resolution. Its main camera is also pretty powerful as PIPO plans to put a 13mp camera on the back.

This rendering of the H3 shows that it has a similar design to the T9. The back still follows a three-level design, but the H3 does not have round ends. There is also a detachable panel on the left side of the main camera. From the tabs on the pan, it looks like the H3 may support dual-SIM cards and memory cards.

Soon, Huawei announced that they would also release a version of the P7 with a sapphire screen. Now, Vivo has joined in by confirming that they will release a limited edition of the X5L with a sapphire screen.

Many videos featuring testing of the sapphire X5L have hit the web that confirm the news. The videos show that the sapphire screen has greater hardness and abrasion resistance and does not consume more power. The biggest selling point of the Vivo X5L is its Karaoke features and its glamorous package is incredible. The sapphire screen should only leave more users in awe.

Other than the glass, all the other specifications will be the same. Its processor will still be the MTK6592 octa-core chipset. It will have 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM, sport a 5-inch 720p screen and 5mp/13mp camera, and will be powered by a 2230mAh battery. It also has a built-in Yamaha signal chip and a combination of the CS4398 and MAX97220 HiFi solution.

Given the higher production costs, expect this phone’s price to be higher than the regular X5L’s 2498 RMB price (406.58 USD).

A black version will be released followed by a white one. The Mini Pro’s processor and memory specs are stronger than the Mini’s. It uses the MTK6592 octa-core chipset and has 2GB RAM and 32GB ROM. Mediatek-powered devices can struggle with this feature but the service can be improved by tweaking the setting on your phone. If you have one of the following running your device this tutorial can help you get the most out of your phone’s GPS: MTK6592, MTK6582, MTK6589, MTK 6577 and MTK6575.

Before you start you need to make sure you have a ROOTED Android phone, uninterrupted internet connection and the GPS Test Application (available from Play Store).

Once you’ve got what you need and you’re ready to get started, these are the steps to a better GPS.

1. First of all enable the Internet Connection on your phone

2. Next go to ‘Settings’ then tap on ‘Google’ then select ‘Location Settings’ and make sure ‘Let Google apps access your location’ is set to ‘ON’.

3. Choose the option of ‘Location Access’. Make sure that All the options available there are Checked “ON”. as you can see in the image: You can also do get to the same stage by choosing ‘Settings’ and then ‘Location Access’ if you prefer.

4. Next, in ‘Settings’ go to ‘Location Access’, and open ‘GPS satellites’. Then you can enable ‘GPS EPO assistance’ as shown in the picture below.

5. Next go to ‘EPO settings’, which looks like this and set the EPO data to download.

6. Now Enable AGPS GPS.

This should mean you have GPS enabled on your MTK device. To check all is well, however, you can test the feature. To do this you need to Install ‘GPS Test’ from the link in the initial instructions at the beginning of the article.

7. If you have it, in the GPS Test App, tap Menu/Settings and check screen always on.

8. Be in your home and start the application and see the bar graph going up and down. You will see something like this

But if this doesn’t work then try going out and moving around, if these graphs start to move, all is well and you’re good to go. After you’ve completed these steps you should have a capable GPS system and be confident enough to actually rely on it.

As the first half of 2014 ends, many Chinese manufacturers are preparing the new products that they plan to release during the second half of the year. One of them is Pioneer’s 3G phone, the Pioneer K68W. Those who want it may soon make pre-orders at Suning. In the mean time, more information on the phone’s specs have been released.

Just as previous reports have stated, the Pioneer K68w has a “jade surface.” Other than making the phone look more attractive, it also improves the phone’s texture. As the promotional poster shows, the K68W is white and has metallic edges. It has a 5.5-inch 720p screen. As a result it has a thickness of 8.1mm, length of 150mm, and width of 77mm.

The K68W will be the first Pioneer photo to use an octa-core processor, which is the 1.7GHz MTK6592. However, its memory is just so-so (1GB RAM and 8GB ROM). It is powered by a 2100mhA, and supports WCDMA/GSM dual-SIM. Like the E81T, it continues to use a 2.5D touch screen whose surface is protected by glass. Its operating system is the Android 4.42 kitkat. In addition, it uses Dolby audio. If customized, you can also stream videos with the PPTV.

Those who want it should look for updates at Suning.

After a few days of waiting, we finally get hold of one of the most powerful China smartphones available on the global market nowadays — the octa-core Cubot X6.

What we’ve got in hand is a priority package, containing the Cubot X6 white variant running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, complete with accessories.

We’ve spent several hours and even days just to scrutinize each and every attribute and feature entrenched into this new handset we received from Chinavasion. After performing a series of hands-on tests on the device, we came up with these subsequent findings.

Unboxing: First Impression

While this may not be that necessary, we just want to note that we’re impressed with the unit’s external packaging; it’s neat and simple but totally protects the phone.

And to ensure we don’t miss any important detail on it, we deliberately took these very first photos while unboxing the new Cubot X6.

6 Design: Closely akin to Sony Ericsson, Xperia Arc S

First glance on the handset, it seems to look similar to the elapsed Sony Ericsson that is schemed with a rectangle front side, with top and bottom edges that are slightly curved outside. Meanwhile, the protective glass that curves into the bottom lip so as its back cover that curves into the left and right edges, makes the device looks closely similar to that of the Xperia Arc S.

As of its texture, the X6 delivers a premium feel as its rear side adopts an HTC One-style matte finish.

The new X6 handset however seizes one distinctive feature, and that is its aluminum-rounded swelling back camera with a gilded earpiece mouth.

Apart from its curve edges, the new Cubot X6 also has some clever parts. If you can see in the previous images, the handset is schemed with two lips with a joined back cover, replacing the top and bottom edges. Such design, combined with the seemingly Arc S, make the device look fairly slim.

There are no redundant physical buttons but you’ll find the volume rocker and power keys on the device.
Overall craftsmanship is reasonable, except the seams that are a little bit wide, allowing more dusts to lodge in later exposure.

X6 Display: Good yet not that amazing

It’s good to see a 5-inch phone with IPS display sporting 1280 x 720 resolution but the Cubot X6’s pixel density of 294 PPI is not as high as that of THL T100s or Zopo ZP998s with 401 ppi. This makes the X6’s color display less amazing that other China phone variants.

But then again, you will see no traces of granules or mosaic textures from the graphical user interface or on-screen HD images.

One thing we like most of the X6 in terms of its display feature is its 720p presentation with its eye-comforting mild contrast.

X6 Performance: Buttery smooth

As you may all know, the 8-core MTK6592 CPU with Mali-450 GPU is among the toughest powerhouses seen on low-cost China phones to date. Given its 8-core processor, we already expected and later, have proven that the new Cubot X6 is absolutely responsive and buttery smooth. This is by far what we’ve deemed the phone’s vital asset.

You too will be amazed to see how such an affordable smartphone can complete many different actions with no delays, as we tried to toggle between home screens, widget layouts and applications. Loading of images are likewise very smooth. Opening and closing of applications are even twice as fast than on other high-powered Chinese smartphones like Zopo ZP998. No lags, no freezes.

I tried toggling between games that require high graphics performance like Asphalt 8: Airborne, Real Racing 3, and NFS: Most Wanted and I wasn’t a bit disappointed.

X6 Battery: Long-lasting

Battery life is definitely a key factor for high-powered smartphones so its owners could enjoy all day without having to charge every 3 to 4 hours. And we’re glad to know Cubot supplied the X6 with the 2200mAh battery — good enough to play NFS all day, literally.

X6 Camera: Neat capture but not impressive

Apparently, we’ve noticed that the 13MP back camera can hardly record details and also the color of the pictures is somewhat lifeless. In short, the X6 camera has low contrast and resolution.

Bottom Line

The Good

The new Cubot X6 proves that MTK6592 is definitely superior and better than the prior versions of MTK chipsets, given its smooth operation and fast performance. On top of all its stock features is USB OTG, which allows you to just plug and play a thumb drive and copy files to and fro.

The Bad

Most notable weakness of the X6 is its low contrast, low resolution camera.
As for network connectivity, the X6 also lacks LTE service since the MTK6592 chipsets are purportedly not compatible with the LTE network. This means that users won’t be able to use the phone for 4G network access. In addition, the Cubot X6 also lacks the NFC module.

Conclusion

Bottom line, Cubot X6 is primarily schemed for swift performance operations in addition to its being affordable and highly responsive performance. If you’re into China phones, Cubot X6 is actually a good and powerful smartphone to start with.

Recently, there has been a special sale for the I9T in JD where it was announced that the phone’s price would be lowered by 200 RMB, now costing 1299 RMB.

The Slim Note I9T’s sleek and slim design is one of its biggest selling points. It uses a 5.7-inch 1080p display screen. Its measurements are 158.1 x 78.5 x 7.9mm.

The Slim Note I9T has an HD 5mP/13mP camera (BSI, f/2.0 aperture). It also allows the user to take and edit photos by voice activation among other features.

As for its main components, other than the 5.7-inch HD screen, it also uses the MT6592 octa-core processor with a main frequency of 1.7GHz, and has 2G+16GB RAM. It is powered by a 2250mha battery and its operating system is the Color OS, customized for the I9T. It supports other functions like OTG and a gyroscope and TD+GSM dual-SIM (small card) as well.

The Slim Note I9T should be affordable for many people, especially women, at whom this phone is targeted, even with the original 1499 RMB price. Customers cannot miss this opportunity.

However, according to the Poulo’s official websie, the X606-R1 has a 5-inch 720p screen and its processor is the quad-core MT6582 chipset. It’s also supposed to have a 8m camera and 1500mha battery, and is supposed to support TD-SCDMA China Mobile 3G internet.

If both the rumors and official reports are not wrong, then high and low versions may be released. We’ll see soon.

Here’s they are:

The A-one X is designed with a detachable back cover. After taking off the back cover and removing some screws, you can see what’s inside the back. There are more marks and insulating tape on the PCB. I asked an employee of the company who said that the PCB on the actual phones that will be sold should not have these.

Here we can see that the PCB is covered with a metallic shield cover, which is not that common. It can effectively protect the chip inside and insulate electricity, letting the phone run stably.

Lift the motherboard’s shield cover and you can see the MTK6592 CPU chip. Because this is the first time the phone is being dismantled, the shield cover cannot be detached.

This is one pretty sturdy phone.

Finally, here are all the computer chips. You can see the Samsung memory card although we can’t really tell what the other chips are.

Please don’t forget to check out the shield cover which I could not take out without a tool.
Summary: The biggest feeling one gets after easily taking the X Warlord apart is knowing how sturdy the phone is, and how well-built it is. The hardest part was opening the back cover. A strong kind of glue is used to keep the phone intact and sealed tight.

MediaTek has successfully to offers s great mobile processor for some manufacturer, is now they also release the new MediaTeek MT6591 and MT6592 processor, hexa core processor that will be adopt by smartphone in the near future.

As we know, the MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor has been release in the end of November last year that chipset is becoming the world’s first eight-core chipset for smartphone, and it’s processor has becoming the “true” octa-ocre chipset on the market.

MediaTek is also ready to release the MT6591 six-core (penta-core) processor. Zopo manufacturer is already release their phone that using MT6591 penta-core processor, Zopo X3 has been tested with Benchmark tool and this phone is uses MTK MT6591.

Zopo Xtouch X3 uses MT6591 1.5GHz processor, sports with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM, the phone has packs with 1080p FHD screen display and according to benchmark test, the phone has reach 23,600 points, the integrated graphics processor Mali-450MP4 the MT6591 in 3D/2D graphics performance with the 6592 is almost the same.

The major advantage of hexa core MT6591 is it creates a perfect bridge between quad core MT6582 and octa core MT6592. In terms of power it’s also in the middle of these two; hexa core 1.5 GHz Cortex A7 CPU is used in MTK6591. Without any surprise the price of hexa core droids will be in the middle of quad core and octa core smartphones.

Two less CPU cores will increase the battery life and at the same time two extra cores will increase the multitasking ability. Computing and multitasking capabilities of a CPU really reflects the performance of a processor, but in daily use it is sometimes overlooked.

Currently the market is still dominated by the MT6592 processor and products with octa-core processors is still an option for the user, but in the near future the use of a hexa-core processor will be increasingly in demand in line with the decreasing thirst selling a mobile phone’s price.

Although no formal eight-core MTK6592 available to Mediatek, of course, is that many brands smart phones will be scheduled to using this processor, which means that will be an eight-core smartphone out there. Following the other smartphone manufacturer, Jiayu is representation a smaller brands that ready to release the new eight-core smartphone, and now TCL also recently announced that will be released MTK6592 products son.

And is expected to become a starter. Visible MTK6592 high degree of concern, from the announcement of multi-core strategy began, MediaTek’s products linupe has been very clear, the official said that at the end of some time ago MTK will launch true eight-core products through the new MT6592 chipset.

The one of Chianese smartphone vendors, TCL has been cooperation with MediaTek, they ready to build the new TCL smartphone that powered by MTK6589 quad-core platform, followed by the launch of new products, more than 90% of MTK solution, including the recent popular The four core products TCL S950.

The TCL S950 is equipped with the upgrade version of MT6589 (is now they already adopt the MT6589T chips), but also belong to TCL, another smartphone vendor Alcatel is also used MTK chipset intheir products. From the analysis of the relationship between the two, TCL smart phones launched true eight-core smart phone can be of not the slightest bit, become a starter manufacturers also high probability.

MT6592 is MediaTek positioned as the flagship product, using 28-nanometer process technology, built-in eight A7 core, main frequency up to 1.7-2GHz, may use MALI quad GPU, because using a heterogeneous multi-tasking technology, eight core may achieve synchronous operation or idle shut down part of the intelligent core to reduce power consumption.
