The flagship phones with stellar specs and impressive pricing. However, the fans of the Chinese firm were disappointed to know that the Meizu 17 and 17 Pro supported only a 90Hz refresh rate. Soon after the launch, the company promised that it will be enabling a 120Hz refresh rate through a software update. A few days later, it rolled out the update to the media review units of the Meizu 17 Pro. Today, Meizu released the first software update for Meizu 17 and Meizu 17 Pro. The update brings support 120Hz refresh rate and it also enables some other features.

Apart from support for higher refresh rate, the update also tags along with other features like HDR video playback and DC dimming support. The review units of the Meizu 17 Pro had received more features like easy access to a 129-degree ultrawide camera and fast charging while the screen was kept on. It is unclear whether these features are also included in the new update for general users of Meizu 17 and 17 Pro. Starting from today, the said features will be made available through OTA update in China. Alternatively, users can visit the official website of Flyme to manually download and install the firmware.
