Realme has consistently aimed to provide feature-packed smartphones at affordable prices, and the Narzo series is no exception. The recently launched Narzo N65 and its predecessor, the Narzo N55, both cater to budget-conscious consumers seeking a balance between performance, features, and affordability. While both phones share similarities, several key differences make each one stand out in its own right. Let’s delve deeper into a detailed comparison of the Narzo N65 and Narzo N55 to help you make an informed decision.

Display

The Narzo N65 5G boasts a slightly smaller 6.67-inch HD+ display compared to the Narzo N55’s 6.72-inch FHD+ screen. However, the N65 redeems itself with a smoother 120Hz refresh rate, offering a more fluid experience compared to the N55’s 90Hz panel. While the N55 offers sharper visuals with its Full HD resolution, the N65’s HD+ resolution shouldn’t be a deal-breaker for most users, especially considering the significant advantage in refresh rate.

Performance

The Narzo N65 5G steps up in terms of processing power and 5G capability. It features the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, a 6nm chipset built for balanced performance and efficiency. The Narzo N55, on the other hand, utilizes the MediaTek Helio G88, a 12nm chip focused on gaming performance with 4G capability. While the N55 might be suitable for casual gamers, the N65 5G’s Dimensity 6300 should offer better overall performance for daily tasks and even some light gaming. And don’t forget the 5G support.

Both phones offer up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM, with an additional 6GB of virtual RAM for smoother multitasking. Storage options are identical on both phones, with 128GB UFS 2.2 on the N65 and 128GB eMMC 5.1 on the N55. The storage on the N65 can be expanded up to 2TB using microSD while the N55 supports up to external 1TB.

Camera

The Narzo N65 and Narzo N55 differ significantly in their camera setups. The Narzo N65 sports a 50MP rear camera with a Samsung JN1 sensor, promising improved low-light performance and detailed shots. It is accompanied by an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

In contrast, the Narzo N55 features a 64MP primary camera with a 2MP depth sensor, offering a higher megapixel count for capturing detailed photos. It also boasts an 8MP front-facing camera, similar to the Narzo N65.

Software

Narzo N65 runs on Android 14 with Realme UI 5.0 on top while the N55 runs on Realme UI 4.0 with Android 13 out of the box. The N55 is upgradable to the Android 14-based Realme UI 5.0. So in terms of software, both offer the same experience. Plus both phones feature the “mini capsule” feature.

Battery and Charging

Both phones pack a 5000mAh battery, offering excellent backup for everyday use. However, the Narzo N55 outshines the N65 in the charging department with its 33W fast charging. The N65 offers a slower 15W charging solution, which means waiting longer to get your phone back to full power.

Design and Other Features

In terms of design, both phones adopt a similar aesthetic with a plastic back and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Narzo N65 comes with a light-feather design, suggesting a lightweight and ergonomic build. While the N55 comes with a prism design and a textured finish. Both phones are available in attractive color options, catering to different style preferences.

Both phones come with a 3.5mm headphone jack, and essential connectivity options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The N65 5G boasts the advantage of having IP54 dust and water resistance, providing some protection against the elements. The N65 also features the rainwater smart touch feature.

Pricing

The Realme Narzo N65 offers two variants: 4GB+128GB and 6GB+128GB, priced at Rs. 11,499 and Rs. 12,499, respectively. However, with a special launch offer of Rs. 1000 off, these models are available for Rs. 10,499 and Rs. 11,499.

On the other hand, the Narzo N55, launched earlier, comes in two variants: 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB, priced at Rs. 10,999 and Rs. 12,999, respectively.

Conclusion

The Narzo N65 and Narzo N55 fall within the affordable price range, targeting budget-conscious consumers. The Narzo N65, with its powerful Dimensity 6300 SoC, 120Hz display, and 5G capabilities, caters to users seeking a future-ready device for performance and connectivity. The Narzo N55, with its FHD+ display, higher resolution camera, and faster charging, appeals to those prioritizing multimedia consumption and photography. Ultimately, the choice boils down to individual priorities, but if you ask me personally, the N65 seems to be the clear winner here.

Realme has officially teased a new budget 5G smartphone for the Indian market. The company’s upcoming device is the Narzo N65 5G model, which is set to launch in the region next week. So here’s everything we know about the affordable phone.

Realme Narzo N65 Teaser

The Chinese brand shared a teaser that confirmed that the Realme Narzo N65 will launch in India on 28th May 2024. This device is a 5G enabled device that will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC. Furthermore, the handset would come with an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance. It will support rainwater smart touch features as well, letting you use the screen even if it is wet.

Realme shared the teaser for the Narzo N65 in the gold variant. The device also features a large circular camera island for the dual image sensors. The primary camera is a 50-megapixel shooter. The new Narzo N65 appears to be similar to the C65, and could be a rebranded model for the Indian market. The Realme C65 5G was also equipped with the Dimensity 6300 and offered similar specifications.

If this is true, the new can expect the Realme Narzo N65 to also sport a 6.67-inch LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and HD+ resolution. For optics, it features a 50-megapixel primary and a secondary sensor on the rear and an 8-megapixel selfie shooter on the front. A large 5,000mAh battery pack powers this device, which supports 15W wired fast charging.
