Realme Narzo 50i Prime debuted in the global markets in June this year. Now the smartphone is teased to launch in India soon. E-commerce platform Amazon has put up a microsite of the device with a ‘Coming Soon’ tag. The upcoming offering will arrive as a toned-down version of the Narzo 50i that was announced last year.

The exact launch date of the Realme Narzo 50i Prime has not been announced yet. However, we can expect it to debut in the country in the coming weeks. The Amazon listing also gives us a look at the upcoming smartphone. It is expected to come in Dark Blue and Mint Green colour options. The device has a compact form factor and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The display is surrounded by thin bezels and a waterdrop notch on the top. 

Design-wise, the Narzo 50i Prime has a glossy horizontal rectangular camera island housing a single sensor paired with an LED flash unit. The smartphone has vertical stripes and an X-shaped textured pattern on the back panel. Apart from this, the core specifications of the Narzo 50i Prime remain a mystery. 

The global variant of the Narzo 50i Prime comes with a 6.5-inch display and is powered by an octa-core Unisoc processor. It packs up to 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage expandable via a dedicated microSD card slot. The device features 8MP rear and 5MP selfie cameras. The smartphone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 10W charging.

A lot of manufacturers have adopted a 6-month refresh cycle for several of their mid-range phones. The reduced period between devices sometimes results in these phones sharing similar specs. An example is the upcoming Narzo 50A smartphone whose chipset was revealed by a company executive today.

We already know the Narzo 50A is on the way seeing as it has received certifications at different agencies in the last few weeks. We also know what it will look like thanks to a press render leak in late August. Now, Realme is taking control of the narrative and has disclosed the chipset that will power the new smartphone.

The name of the processor was revealed in a tweet by Francis Wong, the CMO of Realme India & Europe. According to him, the Narzo 50A will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 processor, the same chipset that is inside the Narzo 30A.

The Helio G85 was announced in April 2020 and the 12nm octa-core processor has two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.0GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. It also has a Mali G52 MC2 GPU clocked at 1GHz. The processor is a favorite of many manufacturers and can be found in mid-range phones from Redmi, Tecno, Infinix, Samsung, and Micromax.

For those disappointed in the news that the Narzo 50A will retain the same sensor, there are other differences expected. For example, the leaked render already revealed that the phone will have three rear cameras and will have a redesigned back panel. There most likely will be other differences which we may find out before the launch event.

In a bid to expand its portfolio of 5G devices, Madhav Sheth, the CEO of Realme India and Europe, has announced that all its future phones priced above ₹15,000 (~$200) will have support for 5G.

Realme is one of the manufacturers that has focused on releasing affordable 5G phones, and by setting a limit for devices that have 4G connectivity, it can turn its focus to 5G smartphones. The above statement was revealed in a tweet by the top executive earlier today but we do not know if it has any such price limit for other markets.

With the new price benchmark, it is safe to say that the Realme C series, which is its most affordable line, will stick to 4G. We should also see some models of the Narzo line as well as its number series continue to offer 4G connectivity. The Realme X series and higher-specced models of the number and Narzo series will be the ones with 5G.

It is no surprise that Realme is focusing on 5G smartphones. Counterpoint Research, ranked it as the No.1 5G smartphone brand in India for the month of May. It will want to retain the title by providing more models for buyers. The CEO revealed that it has converted 90% of its R&D resources to the development of 5G technology and products. It also plans to invest $300 million globally in 5G research and product development.

Mr. Sheth has also confirmed that the Realme GT will launch in India this quarter and it will come alongside “multiple GT products”. The brand also plans to announce more 5G Narzo phones.

realme is all set to bring an affordable 5G smartphone to India with the Narzo 30 series. The devices will debut in the country on February 24. Ahead of the launch next week, the Narzo 30A has appeared on Geekbench with MediaTek Helio G85 chipset.

A realme device with model number RMX3171 appears on Geekbench as reported by Nashville Chatter Class. The chipset running the show belongs to MediaTek MT6769V/CZ. This corresponds to the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset that was present on the Narzo 20 back then.

Also, the RMX3171 has already been spotted on NBC certification and it gives away the Narzo 30A moniker. Anyway, the Geekbench listing also shows that the device runs Android 10 which, although is a bit old, is ok considering the new realme X7 flagship devices also run the same OS.

Moving on, the device in testing seems to run on 4GB RAM, and if it becomes the base model, should be a relief for the users. The Narzo 20A launched in 2020 began with 3GB RAM and an upgrade is always welcome nonetheless.

We aren’t sure if realme would debut a Narzo 30 standard variant in the future but for next week, it has lined up the Narzo 30 Pro 5G and Narzo 30A. The specs of both the devices have already been leaked in their entirety.

Accordingly, the Narzo 30A will feature a Two-tone design in Black and Light Blue colors, a 6.5-inch display with a waterdrop notch(likely LCD). Other specs include a 13MP dual rear camera, 8MP front camera, 6,000mAh battery with 18W charging, fingerprint sensor on the back.

Earlier this year, Realme introduced Narzo 10 and Narzo 10A smartphones in India. At the recently held IFA 2020 tech trade show, Realme confirmed that it will be launching the Realme Narzo 20 series in the near future. A tipster from India has revealed that the Realme Narzo 20 series will include three devices such as Narzo 20A, Narzo 20, and Narzo 20 Pro. He also shared the details on the variants of each of these smartphones.

The leak suggests that the Narzo 20A is an entry-level phone and it will be arriving in variants such as 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage. The Narzo 20 will come in 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage editions. Both phones are expected to arrive in colors like Victory Blue and Glory Silver.

The predecessor series had only two phones such as Narzo 10A and Narzo 10. However, the Narzo 20 lineup will have a higher model called Narzo 20 Pro. It will come in options like 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. The Narzo 20 Pro will come in different colors like Black Ninja and White Knight.

The other details of the Narzo 20A, Narzo 20, and Narzo 20 Pro are under wraps. Hopefully, newer leaks will reveal more information on the upcoming Realme Narzo 20 series. Also, readers are advised to digest the above leak with a grain of salt. The Realme Nazro 10 series phones were rebranded versions of the Realme 6i that debuted in Myanmar and Realme C3 that launched in markets like Thailand and Indonesia. Hence, it remains to be seen whether the Narzo 20 phones are rebadged editions of the previously unveiled Realme / OPOO smartphones.

Realme confirmed yesterday that Narzo is the name of its upcoming smartphone series. Soon after its announcement, there were rumors that the first Narzo phones will be debut very soon. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has released an official confirmation that Narzo 10 and Narzo 10A phones will be made official on March 26.

The microsite for the upcoming Narzo lineup reveals that the series is aimed towards the youth of India. Also, it states that the Narzo phones are customized for Generation Z. The landing page of the Narzo 10 and 10A have revealed some of their key features.

The smartphone that has a green colored rear with vertical stripes could be the Narzo 10 phones as it features quad cameras. The blue colored model with a large Realme branding on its back could be the Narzo 10A phone. The handset features three rear-facing cameras with f/1.8 aperture for the main lens. The absence of rear-mounted fingerprint scanners on these devices suggest that they could be equipped with in-screen fingerprint readers.

The Narzo 10 and Narzo 10A could be both sporting a 6.5-inch waterdrop notch screens. Both phones are expected to deliver a screen space of 89.8 percent. The Narzo 10 duo will be the first devices to draw power from a new gaming-centric processor.

The Realme Narzo 10 and Narzo 10A handsets are packed with 5,000mAh batteries that 39 hours of standby time. The upcoming Narzo phones will arrive with rapid charging technology. An image of the bottom edge of the Narzo 10 on the official landing page reveals that it has a 3.5mm headphone jack, two microphones, a USB port and a speaker grille.

There is no word on the pricing of the Narzo 10 and Narzo 10A phones. It is speculated that the new Narzo phones will be arriving to take on the likes of POCO and Redmi.
