<p>After releasing the stable build of iOS 16.3.1, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple</a> is now expected to soon launch the iO6 16.4 and the Release Candidate of the same is now available to those registered in the company&#8217;s developer program. It carries new features, including new emojis, and web app notifications. Interestingly, the software also includes a reference to the unreleased Beats Studio Buds+. Here are the details.</p>

<p>As discovered by <em>9to5Mac, </em>the iOS 16.4 Release Candidate has references for an upcoming pair of Beats Studio Buds. The earbuds are said to be a refresh over the existing <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/06/14/beats-studio-buds-arrives-with-fewer-apple-features-but-better-android-support-for-150/">Beats Studio Buds</a> and will be called the Beats Studio Buds+.</p>

<p>The earbuds have been spotted with codename 8214 and are reported to use an Apple chip. This sets them apart from the original Beats Studio Buds that were released in 2021 with a proprietary Beats chip. However, just like the regular buds, the new Buds+ will have active noise cancellation and transparency mode.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="575" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Beats-Studio-Buds-Plus-1024x575.webp?x44794" alt="Beats-Studio-Buds-Plus" class="wp-image-524646" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Beats-Studio-Buds-Plus-1024x575.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Beats-Studio-Buds-Plus-300x169.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Beats-Studio-Buds-Plus-768x432.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Beats-Studio-Buds-Plus-696x391.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Beats-Studio-Buds-Plus-1068x600.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Beats-Studio-Buds-Plus-747x420.webp 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Beats-Studio-Buds-Plus.webp 1500w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Image via 9to5Google</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The publication has also shared some images of the new earbuds, which reveal they will have media controls for play/pause and also the option to press and hold to switch between noise-canceling modes. They have been pictured in a new black color with gold details, however, the design looks almost the same as 2021’s Beats Studio Buds.</p>

<p>The code discovered in iOS 16.4 RC indicates that the upcoming Beats Studio Buds+ will also be able to share audio, switch devices automatically, and respond to voice commands via &#8220;Hey Siri.&#8221; These features are similar to those of the AirPods and other Beats wireless earbuds that feature an Apple chip. The original Studio Buds, on the other hand, lack these functions as they don’t use a wireless chip from Apple.</p>
