Earlier this year, Oppo launched its first tablet, the OPPO Pad, with an 11-inch LCD panel, a Snapdragon 870 processor, and a 13MP rear camera. Now, a popular tipster claims the successor of Oppo’s first-gen tablet is in the works. The alleged tablet is reported to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 chipset and a high-resolution screen. Here are the details.

Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station claims Oppo is working on a new flagship tablet, which will debut as the successor of the previously launched Oppo Pad. He says the device will be powered by the octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset and will have a 2800x2000px resolution screen. DCS suggests the tablet might launch soon. However, he didn’t share the exact launch timeline.

We can expect the tablet to offer smooth performance since it packs the flagship Dimensity 9000 chipset. The SoC is manufactured on TSMC’s 4nm process and includes one fast Cortex-X2 core clocked at up to 3 GHz, three A710 cores with up to 2.85 GHz, and four power-efficiency cores (Cortex-A510) with up to 1.8 GHz.

To recall, the first-generation Oppo Pad debuted earlier this year in February. It features an 11-inch LCD panel that offers a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels with a pixel density of 275 PPI. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, a 1500:1 contrast ratio, HDR10, and a P3 wide color gamut.

The device comes powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. For photography, there’s a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie snapper.
