In 2020, Segway-Ninebot announced the Ninebot Gokart Pro Lamborghini edition and one of the major highlight was the car sound simulation feature which the Gokart e-scooter came with thanks to an embedded speaker. While this feature has not been directly included on other scooters from the company, Segway has now deviced a way for users who may want their scooters to simulate car sound to do so.

The company has unveiled a speaker accessory attachment for its electric scooters and it wil make them simulate the sound of different kinds of ICE engines. The speaker is aptly named Ninebot Engine Speaker and it features support for Bluetooth connectivity and a strap that lets users attach it firmly to their scooter.

Specifically, the strap is design to enable mounting the speaker on the Segway / Ninebot electric scooters, as well as the GoKarts, electric bikes, and even on the popular self-balancing Segway e-scooters. The speaker packs a decent 2,200mAh battery that is said to be capable of delivering up to 23 hours of playback. The speaker charges via a USB-C port and also features IP55 dust and water resistance.

Connectivity to a Segway Ninebot vehicle is seamless and when connected, the scooter offers different engine modes namely: single-cylinder, twin-cylinder, V8, and V12. The speaker is designed to sync with the scooter’s accelerator pedal/handle such that when the user revs the machine, there is synchronous revving sound from the scooter.

The Ninebot Engine speaker carries a price tag of $149.99 and is available on Segway’s website.
