This new variant of the company’s handheld gaming console is set to go on sale on October 8, and now, pre orders for the OLED Switch is set to start from September 24.

The Japanese tech giant announced earlier today (9th September 2021) that the OLED version of Switch will be available for pre orders later this month for a price of 37,980 Yen (roughly 345 US Dollars). Apart from the inclusion of a new OLED panel, the new version of the gaming console doesn’t arrive with any major changes. Although, it does feature slightly improved performance, while the battery life is still rated to last 9 hours similar to the original Switch.

Other slight changes include a slightly longer and heavier body compared to the original version, with the OLED variant weighing 320 grams over the 290 grams of the original. Meanwhile, notable specs include a 7 inch displayu, a new bracket design, with the angle being freely adjustable, an increase base storage capacity of 64GB and new speakers that offers better audio quality when used in handheld mode. As of right now, it appears that Nintendo doesn’t plan on launching a new gaming console anytime soon, so this might be the better variant of the Switch to buy for those interested.

Nothing will be affordable

Carl Pei’s Nothing pair of earbuds is coming later this month. However, you don’t have to wait till then to know how much the first product from the startup will cost. The founder already revealed the price as well as some of the features of the wireless earbuds which will launch as the Nothing ear (1).

OnePlus tweets about the S Pen

The official OnePlus India Twitter account committed a gaffe last week when it tweeted about Samsung’s Galaxy S Pen.
Google and Xiaomi are two manufacturers that have launched phones with an in-house image signal processor (ISP). OPPO may soon join the list has a leak revealed the manufacturer is working on its own ISP. This chipset should help future OPPO devices take better pictures since the chipset and camera algorithms can be better tweaked compared to the one that comes with the chipset powering the phone.

OnePlus admits to throttling performance for the sake of battery life

It was discovered that OnePlus was throttling the performance of the OnePlus 9 Pro when using several popular apps including Chrome and Twitter. However, when running benchmark apps, the device ran at full performance according to findings made by Anandtech. This discovery led to the device (and the OnePlus 9) being removed from Geekbench’s database. In OnePlus’s defense, it said it did that to save battery life. You can read their official response.

Qualcomm announces $1500 Snapdragon-branded smartphone

One of the top stories last week was the launch of the Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders, a device made by ASUS for Qualcomm and with a Snapdragon logo.
The Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) as it is officially called has a bigger screen that is OLED, double the storage, and upgrades in the design of the console itself and the dock. It also costs more.

The display has been bumped up to 7.0-inches in size but the resolution is still 720p. The kickstand, which was one of the complaints of the original console now has a wide adjustable angle Nintendo also claims the audio has been enhanced. Another key upgrade is the storage which has been increased from 32GB on the other Switch consoles to 64GB.
