The No.1 M2 is the latest attempt from the company to offer something compact yet sturdy to the masses. For this purpose, the company has priced the device at just $93.99. So, from April 5th to April 13th, you can purchase a brand new No.1 M2 from Aliexpress for $93.99. After this promotional sale period, the price tag of the device will increase to $124.99.

We have already seen the device in pictures and it looks just as good as its sibling, i.e. the No.1 X1 and the No.1 X2. Even the tech specs are pretty decent for a sub-$100 phone.

The M2 is water and dust resistant, and is IP68 certified. So, you won’t have to worry about damaging the phone in your day to day usage.

The No.1 M2 features a compact 4.5-inch 960 x 540 qHD display which should deliver crisp and clear images. Under the hood, you will get the MT6582 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with 1GB RAM and 8GB of storage. At the back, there is a 13MP camera with LED flash while up front there is a 5MP shooter. Unfortunately, you don’t get 4G LTE support but at this price tag you can’t expect everything.

The No.1 M2 comes with a decent 2400 mAh non-removable battery which should be enough to power the device for a day. A few days back, we had shown off some pictures of the No.1 M2 smartphone. It was the third rugged device from the smartphone maker No.1 within the past three months and is targeted at those users who are looking for a compact phone that can withstand any harsh environment. At that time, we didn’t have much details about the device, but now, the company has released the tech specs as well as pricing of the M2.

The No.1 M2 features a 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.3Ghz. While we don’t know the processor make, it could be from Mediatek, most likely the MT6732 64-bit SoC. The phone come with 1GB RAM on board and 8GB of internal storage. Given that this is a rugged device, it features a 4.5-inch display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass protection. So, you don’t have to worry about scratches on your screen.

Apart from being scratch proof, the No.1 M2 also boasts of being water proof and shock proof. In fact, to showcase the resistant capacity of the device, the company has released two new videos. The first YouTube video shows the M2 being dropped inside water without any visible damage. The second shows the phone being dropped from the top of the stairs, once again without any damage. The IP68 certification also gives us an idea about the ruggedness of the phone.

As for the camera, the phone sports a 13MP sensor at the back with LED flash and enhanced face detection and exposure controls. At the front, you get a 5MP camera. One of the highlights of the device is the new Android 5.0 Lollipop version that comes pre-installed on the device out of the box. There are hardly any rugged phones out there that run the new Lollipop OS, so this is definitely its selling point. Further, the bold looks and the 14.1mm thin body makes the device all the more appealing.

No.1 has been recently focusing a lot on rugged smartphones. We have already seen two great rugged phones from the company, namely the No.1 X1 and the No.1 X2 5.5-inch phone. Now, No.1 has unveiled yet another smartphone rugged phone, called as the No.1 M2.

The phone is particularly targeted at those users who would like a small screen instead of a large one like the X2. The device features a 4.5-inch display, which makes it a very compact device. Unfortunately, we don’t know the resolution of the display, but we can expect it to be 720p or at least qHD.

The highlight of the device is its dustproof, water proof and scratch proof feature which allows you to take the device for any adventure trips (IP68 certified). Moreover, you get the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS version right out of the box, which means you can enjoy all the great visual as well as performance features of this new Android version. We still don’t know many of the specs of the device like the processor, camera, battery etc, but the company says that it aims to make the device cost effective. So, anyone who’s looking for an affordable rugged phone, should take a look at this new device from No.1.
